wjag Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 So my indecision on the Enroth Miller start was rewarded when I left Miller in. He got another 12.7 points tonight. That is 25.8 points for my goalie in 48 hours. Those numbers are off the charts in CBS fantasy hockey. That's the good news. Bad news is I lost Backstrom (G) Minny for a long time. You just can't replace a good goalie at this time of the year.
papazoid Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 without scrolling back...... what color are noureen's eyes ??.......34 C is not the answer.
North Buffalo Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Time to trade Miller. He's at a high and we don't want any goaltenders at the top of their game. Team Sunny Cloud. Really, bout time our Number 1 goaltender is actually showing up. Nice to have him for a couple of games...
RazielSabre Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 To see this group of players go out there and play the way they've been playing lately (moreso last night than tonight) is frustrating me more and more when I think about the first half of the season. Our team this year has always looked good on paper, but they stopped showing up to the games in November and December. There is a definite lack of player leadership, but isn't it up to coaching to have the players ready to play every night? It's been discussed at length that we don't really know how much responsibility or control the coach has over his players showing up. Either way, something big has to change this Summer. I put november, december and january down to the Sabres doubting themselves, they lost confidence in themselves after the Boston game then lost their way and forgot how to have fun and win. I'm not sure Ruff was to blame for that but I'm also not sure if I believe he should have a job at end of season or not.
nfreeman Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Well, that was a great, great win. I'd like to see some signs of life from Roy-Vanek-Pommer. Pretty concerned about Regehr. Miller! Miller! Miller! Go Sabres.
ROC Sabres Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 She is slightly crosseyed, like her husband. At least they don't have any problems looking each other in the eyes then.
dEnnis the Menace Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Wow. Glad I stayed up for both games! Those were two of the best games I've seen Miller play in--- well, in a long time. Hodgson's line still looks amazing. The third and fourth line still had more opportunities than the first line, which is kind of sad. When Ellis, Boyes, and Tropp are generating more chances and pressure than a line of Vanek, Pominville and Roy, you know something is up. Defense played stellar again, and physical. I don't want to jinx it, but it seems as if this team is finding it's heart and will to win games, starting in net, going out. I'm impressed. And if I have to listen to another game called by Garevester, I'm probably going to cry, or punch babies...not sure which yet.
X. Benedict Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Just got back from the game. I've got to say, I'm fairly impressed by the San Jose crowd. Knowledgable and friendly. It was their 100th sell out in a row, too. Overall a solid performance I thought, though a little slow at the get-go. Did you say hello to Guy Kawasaki? Good guy. He set up this..... http://hockey.alltop.com/ And posted here a few times. Leopold just had a tremendous defensive pair of games. Probably his best back to back in the defensive zone. Nothing too flashy, but he kept the entire defense calm. And was really QBing the outlets with his yap.
carpandean Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 I just looked for the first time in a little while: Four points out with two games in hand. Damn! Three behind Washington and they have a game-in-hand. Winnipeg is only in 8th because they've played so many games. Washington could be harder to catch.
Sabills182 Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Finally got to watch it on dvr, I work over nights. Def wasn't pretty but I'll take the 2 points. Maybe I should should work more while we are playing lol

Washington could be harder to catch. We have a game left against the Caps, that will be a MUST WIN. I look at it like 1 back, and they have a game in hand. If we lose to the caps, we will not catch them. Some more implosion by #8 would help.

Tyrannustyrannus Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 I'm so tired. Those were two good games, but when I have to get up with my wife and 10 month old son at 6:00 I'm dead for the day. Glad they won or I would be an extra unpleasant coworker today.

I really don't know what to think about that team anymore, especially after the egg they laid last night.

Yeah I watched some of thast last night but I am more of the mind to give the Jets credit for playing a strong game. We also have to pass them and we get to see how we stack up with them soon as well.
korab rules Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Remember how boring it was when the Sabres won the president's trophy? All they did was win! In a season like this, every game is life and death, and all the games played by a half dozen other teams are life and death for us as well. THAT makes for exciting hockey Would you really rather have it any other way?

I can honestly say that for the last month or two, the games and scoreboard watching (/watching other teams play on TV) has kept me on the edge on my seat. I love it.
wjag Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 It is almost unfathomable that this team is four points out of 8th. The home stretch is going to be must see TV.. As in must see Thomas Vanek...

We also have to pass them and we get to see how we stack up with them soon as well. The Panthers are offensively anemic like the Sabres and sit atop their division on the merit of 12 OT losses, compared to Washington's 5. I could easily see them fall to 9th before it's all said and done. It is almost unfathomable that this team is four points out of 8th. The home stretch is going to be must see TV.. As in must see Thomas Vanek... Who has all but disappeared. It's curious. Earlier in the season, TV put the team on his back offensively and now that some other elements of the team are clicking he's nowhere to be found. Just timing, I suppose.

TrueBlueGED Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Well, Vanek was on an unsustainable pace earlier in the year. He's always been a streaky player and he was bound to slow down. I don't like him together with Roy, for whatever reason, those guys just don't have the right chemistry. As much as I don't want to break up 63-19-21, I think it's only a matter of time before we see 19 on the top line unless 26-9-29 actually start producing.

Everyone keeps saying that Roy being with Vanek is a problem, but Roy has producing since being put on that line. And Pominville has been producing all season no matter who he has been playing with. It seems like Vanek is the in the situation instead of Roy, even though that's a crime to say around here.
