TrueBlueGED Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 According to hockeysfuture.com Hodgson is Vancouver's top organizational prospect. Maybe I'm being a bit optimistic, but he seems like a Patrice Bergeron in the making.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Only thing behind the scenes is that Darcy and Lindy love small soft players with no backbone Who says Hodgson has no back bone?
Punch Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 My initial reaction is nausea and dizziness. I can't process getting a 6'0" 185 lber for Kassian, regardless of how talented he may be.
Iron Crotch Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 We get another German player in Sulzer! We now lead the league in Germans.
TheMatrix31 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 I love this. Kassian is tough and big, but Hodgson seems like he's waiting to totally bust out. And I thought MAG was generally worthless.
TrueBlueGED Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Only thing behind the scenes is that Darcy and Lindy love small soft players with no backbone Kassian's backbone is beyond overrated. As in, it's not what we all want/think it to be.
BetterDays06 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 hodgson has 16 goals and 17 assists. a good size center. wgr loves the trade a lot
K-9 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 I like the trade. Hodgson gives us a more promising rookie at a greater position of need. I believe he was Rookie of the Month this year? Anyway he wasn't gonna get the ice time in Vancouver that he'll get in Buffalo. And it's probably a good deal for Vancouver, too. GO SABRES!!!
kishoph Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 ...'cus you just can't have enough 180 lb. centers on the roster! (Hodgson can score, so I give him that) Yea the 33 points he has will put him right up there with Derek Roy. I hate this trade, for a team that needs toughness, you get rid of one of the toughest prospects.
shrader Posted February 27, 2012 Author Report Posted February 27, 2012 Sulzer and Grags seem like a pair of throw ins unless I'm not seeing the right details on Sulzer.
ROCBuffalo Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Are you kidding me!! Trade away your tough young best prospect!!!! Building for the Future!!!! I'm raging right now!!
tiredsounds Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 pretty pleased about this, cody hodgson seems pretty solid and i couldn't stand MAG.
zow2 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 I love Kassian's toughness but all I'm reading from Canucks fans is how much they HATE this trade. They think BUF got the much better of this deal so that makes me feel a little better about it.
DaGimp Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 I don't trust guys that could not win for 15 years to build this team
LTS Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 This is a move that works both now and next year for Buffalo. Kassian has been the guy we all thought would be the big banger but then we've been blasting him for not really doing it. I think that guy is Foligno in the future. The scoring bit remains to be seen.. but hell, for now I'll take it. It's certainly creative and not something we would have expected from Regier.
qwksndmonster Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 I am liking this trade. We now get to watch THREE sabres in the playoffs.
Samson's Flow Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Who says Hodgson has no back bone? He has 8 PIM on the year and a whopping total of 25 hits per tsn.ca I know those arent the end all be all of toughness stats, but he's no pat kaleta. That said he is/was VAN's top prospect.
TheMadCap Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Not sure what to think. I don't like giving up the one guy who is one of the tougher forwards on a team that is soft-as-an-egg-just-out-of-a-chickens-arse, but this is why I am not a GM... Pville29 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 hodgson has 16 goals and 17 assists. a good size center. Lindy will make him play as a RW.
sabres1970 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) So I like this deal but...now my Badassian shirt is valueless. And my avatar for that matter. Edited February 27, 2012 by sabres1970
ROCBuffalo Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 We are going to get bullied, yes he might be able to score, but Kassian can score too and he is tough!!!!! Im raging.
ROC Sabres Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Are you kidding me!! Trade away your tough young best prospect!!!! Building for the Future!!!! I'm raging right now!! Don't worry, Lindy would have found a way to make him play soft.
