Weave Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Here is a link to those comments. Maybe if he has any influence he can get Gaustad to resign this summer for less money. http://blogs.buffalo...ll-be-here.html Cheese and rice does Miller come off sounding whiny there. Whooda thunk the Hollywood starlet's husband would be more high maintenance than the Hollywood starlet.

Also there is no way Gaustad comes back here or at least i hope not, if he can get a 1st rounder to be a rental he will definatley be seeing a pay raise and i dont wanna be the sucker that gives it to him Watching Preds game, looks like Goose is scratched. hahaha a first round pick for even less games ahahhahaha
... Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Yes. And I hope other players are just as upset. And I hope they actually learn that they can't take for granted they'll all be together--they have to give management a reason to keep things together. On the other hand, I'm also glad that Miller has the philosophy he does on trades--at least one guy in the locker room isn't hoping for superman to come in and rescue the team, they have to do it themselves. I don't believe "on the other hand" is necessary here. Both of your points work together. I'm less positive than you about Miller's reaction. I'm more inclined to wonder, now more than before, if Miller has been part of the chemistry "problem" all along what with the tone and content of his interview today.

A Ryan Miller sound byte where he doesn't sound like the most miserable human being in the world.

FolignosJock Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 so kostitsyn(sp?) plays but gaustad does not..... seems strange since they both got to carolina yesterday.....
Eleven Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 You know what I find more interesting about that one? It seems kind of stupid that Hodgson and Sulzer had to fly to Buffalo for physicals and then back out to Anaheim. They were already in Phoenix so that seems incredibly unnecessary. Visas, not physicals.
FolignosJock Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 you know what would totally make this horible is if gaustad failed his physical.....
Punch Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 you know what would totally make this horible is if gaustad failed his physical..... I believe the deadline for physicals was 6pm today, so I'm assuming we'd know if something were amiss.
FolignosJock Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 I believe the deadline for physicals was 6pm today, so I'm assuming we'd know if something were amiss. any ideas why he isnt playing
Koomkie Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 to tell ya the truth after hearing andrew peters say derek roy was well liked in the locker room i think miller might be the sole locker room problem Seriously. also...i having trouble deciding if they should bring back goose on july 1st. on one hand i think we can sign him for a low cap hit as the fourth line center (where we give him big signing bonuses and a small salary.) that would be fine with me. it would be great to have him help hodgdawg on faceoffs and to have a "veteran" at the center position. the only reason i am slightly against bringing him back is just because it is bringing back a "core" guy and now we have so many options and directions we can go in, i just don't know if it will be good for the team to bring him back. change is good. although i think i would rather have him centering our fourth line over cody m. if we could get him for a low cap hit while giving him big signing bonuses, would you rather have him or player X as our 4th C?
Eleven Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 any ideas why he isnt playing No ideas, and not good.
TrueBlueGED Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 No ideas, and not good. Not playing, out with an upper body injury, as per Paul Hamilton's twitter. My guess is it's just a little sore and they're holding him out for precautionary reasons. If it was anything long-term, I'm sure we'd have heard about Nashville moving to void the trade by now.
TheChimp Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Who is going to take Gaustad's place on the PK? Kaleta? Vanek? Roy probably. Kaleta's already on it, pretty sure.
inkman Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Roy probably. Kaleta's already on it, pretty sure. Roy is already on it with Pominville. Gonna have to be stafford, Gerbe, hodgson, or Ellis.
TheChimp Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Roy is already on it with Pominville. Gonna have to be stafford, Gerbe, hodgson, or Ellis. Bet it's Ellis, at least at first. They say Hodgson's a decent two-way player though.
Weave Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Bet it's Ellis, at least at first. They say Hodgson's a decent two-way player though. Someone posted a stat indicating that Hodgson got almost no PK time in Van so I'm thinking his game probably isn;t ready for that yet. I'm thinking Roy and Ellis for the 2nd unit.

bunomatic Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 I wouldn't be suprised if Goose is on the team on July 1st. Especially after Miller's comments today. Just another example of the guys being too comfortable with their situation around here. Its funny though. The core in Vancouver is in the same situation with growing up together n stuff. Oh, thats right. They got it right in Vancouver.
shrader Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 I'm calling it right now. Buffalo plays Nashville in the Stanley Cup Finals just so our two first round picks wind up essentially as 2nd round picks.
Taro T Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 I'm calling it right now. Buffalo plays Nashville in the Stanley Cup Finals just so our two first round picks wind up essentially as 2nd round picks. With Goose winning the faceoff and setting the screen on the game 7 winning goal?!? :o

shrader Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 With Goose winning the faceoff and setting the screen on the game 7 winning goal?!? :o He needs to somehow win the faceoff directly into the net (maybe even his own net).
TheChimp Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 That was me. 2 seconds for the entire season. What he do, fall off the bench?
carpandean Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 What he do, fall off the bench? Seriously, though, I'm guessing someone cleared the puck down ice with 5-10 seconds left, then they changed with two seconds left. In other words, he wasn't even sent out there to kill the penalty.
