X. Benedict Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Darcy is a god. Goose and a 4th rounder for a Nashville's 1st rounder.
shrader Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 The TSN ticker now has it set as a 5th round pick. A typo I assume.
dEnnis the Menace Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 TSN's Live Trade Tracker says Goose and a FIFTH round pick for a first...which is it? 4th or 5th?!
wonderbread Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 TSN trade tracker says 5th rnd pick
Weave Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hmmm... two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks this year? Wonder who we could peddle that for?
nfreeman Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Nashville is a lock to make the playoffs. Does anyone know whether draft order is fixed at the end of the regular season, or does it depend on playoff achievement? i.e. what # is the pick if Nashville finishes, say, in 5th place in the NHL in the regular season (which they are in right now), but they lose in the 1st round?
Robviously Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 TSN's Live Trade Tracker says Goose and a FIFTH round pick for a first...which is it? 4th or 5th?! For some reason I didn't think we had a 4th rounder this summer. So maybe the fifth?
LabattBlue Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 TSN's Live Trade Tracker says Goose and a FIFTH round pick for a first...which is it? 4th or 5th?! Does it really matter?

Who Else? Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 That's the wrong way to think about it. The worse Nashville does the BETTER that pick becomes. If you're just thinking from a Sabres perspective you should be cheering against Nashville. This is all under the assumption the Sabres were given a 2012 draft pick as compensation. I get it, but I still like Nashville and will root for Gaustad. I like the Sabres and don't feel the need to want them to lose for improvement and that will be the pick that really matters. (because it should be much higher).
LastPommerFan Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 The TSN ticker now has it set as a 5th round pick. A typo I assume. The Hockey News Tweeting it's a 5th as well
spndnchz Posted February 27, 2012 Author Report Posted February 27, 2012 I'm seeing a 5th rounder instead of the 4th but TSN says 4th so....in any case we got a first round pick.
wonderbread Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Does it really matter? would you prefer to get a 4th roundpick or a 5th round pick?

Playoff Performance and Record Combo. All the teams eliminated each round are rank be Reg Season Record.
Eleven Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hmmm... two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks this year? Wonder who we could peddle that for? You're not alone with this line of thinking!
LabattBlue Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 would you prefer to get a 4th roundpick or a 5th round pick? I'll respond with the same question...does it really matter?
dEnnis the Menace Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Does it really matter? they changed it to 4th on the ticker, but I'd feel better if it was a 5th...but no, it really doesn't.

The cup finalists get the last two picks. The rest are determined by standings (unless someone wins the lottery and jumps up a few spots).
kishoph Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Nice trade, DR. Didn't make the move that I really wanted, but nice one here. I agree, especially if we can get Goose back come July, although more needed to be done, also it doesn't make up for 14 years of futility.
shrader Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 And now TSN has corrected it on their tracker to a 4th rounder.
TrueBlueGED Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hmmm... two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks this year? Wonder who we could peddle that for? The rights to negotiate with Gaustad before free agency begins :P
LTS Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Well, the ONE move that was made was at least decent.. and you give up a rental player. I guess the rest of the roster can wait until the off season. It was a very underwhelming day overall. I can only imagine what the hell the asking price for Roy was.. but it seems like he could have been moved.
Iron Crotch Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 What a shame that Hecht got hurt before the deadline (and a shame that he got hurt in general - concussions are no fun). Jochen could have gotten us a pick or two. He'd have been a desirable trade deadline pickup.
Sterling Archer Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 WGR just sent the text with the 4th going the wrong way.
