Pville29 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 callahan was already laughing when he shook the defensive
Jsixspd Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Not just Callahan - how do we not have Tortorella? The Lightning won a Cup when he was coach. And he coached the Amerks when they won the Calder Cup too. How do we we let these guys get away? Kaleta gets beat silly again. All he has to do is stay up and bump Callahan or force him away a bit. That was what you would call a "mismatch" right there - Callahan one on one with Kaleta - Callahan could skate circles around Kaleta every day of the week.
bunomatic Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Kaleta gets beat silly again. All he has to do is stay up and bump Callahan or force him away a bit. Kaleta is playing scared, of the refs. He can't play on instinct because he's worried about getting penalized. Sucks to be him.
SarasotaSabre Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Wow, Kaleta is responsible for the last 2 Rags goals....tough pill
Derrico Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 so anyways, trade stafford tomorrow while hes worth something... and that ladies and gentlemen is a preview of what an 8th seed finish for the Sabres would be... Do you honestly feel they could beat this ranger team in a 7game series? I don't. I thought we hung with them just fine. I'd LOVE to see a Buffalo NY first round matchup!
Robviously Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Damn slick goal to win it. I like the way the Rangers are put together. I wouldn't mind a Buffalo team assembled in similar fashion. Pretty sure next year's Buffalo team will look a lot like this year's Buffalo team.
Weave Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 My thoughts tonight... I don't know if that was the Rags "A" game but that looked like how Buffalo will have to play it if they manage to get into the playoffs. Miller looked good, but will he continue to look this good with Enroth basically relegated to injury duty? Vanek has all but been marginalized with Roy as his center. Stafford looks rejuvenated with Ennis at center. Notice the common denominator with the last two observations............ They may not make it, and the team may not please Team Storm Cloud, but it looks like the stretch might be entertaining anyway.
CallawaySabres Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Missed the first period but that was a pretty damn good effort and I still think Stafford and possibly others will be gone on Monday. Great weekend of hockey and I am pretty excited for some more meaningful games. Sekera is once again my favorite player tonight....I thought he was going to seal it on that last chance that went wide.
Jsixspd Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Pretty sure next year's Buffalo team will look a lot like this year's Buffalo team. I will already bet we have Regier, Ruff, Roy and Stafford on the team. Still. How many years need to be squandered before we realize it's not gonna happen with the current line up?
thesportsbuff Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 so anyways, trade stafford tomorrow while hes worth something... and that ladies and gentlemen is a preview of what an 8th seed finish for the Sabres would be... Do you honestly feel they could beat this ranger team in a 7game series? I don't.  Hilarious. So a shootout loss and an OT loss to the top team in the East is proof that the Sabres couldn't hang with them in a 7 game series? If anything, it's proof that they can. Just goes to show you what a hot goaltender can do.
87168 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 I will already bet we have Regier, Ruff, Roy and Stafford on the team. Still. How many years need to be squandered before we realize it's not gonna happen with the current line up? eh....
kishoph Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Kaleta gets beat silly again. All he has to do is stay up and bump Callahan or force him away a bit. When they showed the view from above you could clearly see that it should of been Roy picking up Callahan, who was all alone on the same wing as Roy, who lollygagged back up the ice then totally peeled off away from Callahan, where as Kaleta was already deep in our zone while Callahan was still at center ice. I'm not saying Kaleta didn't get schooled, but to me it was clearly Roy's responsibility to pick up Callahan and I'm not saying this just because I hate Derek Roy. Also to me I think it was stupid to roll 3 lines most of the game (1 shift for the 4th line in the 3rd period) in the 2nd game of a back to back nights, the Sabres looked gassed at the end and I'm just not saying this because I hate Lindy Ruff.
Robviously Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Vanek has all but been marginalized with Roy as his center. Stafford looks rejuvenated with Ennis at center. Notice the common denominator with the last two observations............ :wallbash: Still, it's good to know we have a good center (maybe a great center) in Ennis.
SarasotaSabre Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 normally I'd say 3 out of 4 against BOS & NYR in B2B games is a good thing, but at this stage it may not be good enough
Jsixspd Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 The Sabres played a pretty darn good game on the road against one of the best teams in the NHL. And they got a point out of it. If it was November, I'd actually be excited about it - now it's too little too late I fear. :(
87168 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 ?? What I meant by that was, at this point the actions this organization take, or doesn't take is no longer a surprise. I feel like anyone who has a shred of knowledge when it comes to this team would all agree that something should have changed a while ago, despite ownership.
Randall Flagg Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Damn kaleta is upset. Took the whole loss on his back.even with refs screwing him. That's a leader. Love you pat.
LabattBlue Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Damn kaleta is upset. Took the whole loss on his back.even with refs screwing him. That's a leader. Love you pat. I'd like to point out that while Kaleta got schooled on both the 2nd and 3rd goals, where was the defense in both cases?
Randall Flagg Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 I'd like to point out that while Kaleta got schooled on both the 2nd and 3rd goals, where was the defense in both cases? Exactly, kaleta should never be the only one between gaborik and miller, and someone mentioned that Roy bailed on the play earlier.
Robviously Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Brian Koziol @BrianWGR#Sabres Kaleta very emotional after loss-- "I lost it for us" (holding back tears) Tough not to love Kaleta.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Tough not to love Kaleta. I'll give him this....as much as I don't like some of his shennanigans, he tries hard every night and gives a damn. I can respect that aspect. Too bad we haven't had the leaders in here to guide him how to channel his "talents".
nfreeman Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Nice. Good for Callahan he embodies everything that the Sabres aren't I'll say it again: I would trade Vanek and Pommer for Callahan. I'll give him this....as much as I don't like some of his shennanigans, he tries hard every night and gives a damn. I can respect that aspect. Too bad we haven't had the leaders in here to guide him how to channel his "talents". They are crazy if they don't re-sign Kaleta.
TheMatrix31 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 I'll give him this....as much as I don't like some of his shennanigans, he tries hard every night and gives a damn. I can respect that aspect. Too bad we haven't had the leaders in here to guide him how to channel his "talents". That much is true.
Robviously Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 I'll say it again: I would trade Vanek and Pommer for Callahan. I don't think I would trade either one for him. And I'm pretty sure you're not saying that you'd trade both guys for him.
