ROCBuffalo Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Miller is the man, and he is not the reason. If he was on the Bruins he would be having the same year as Tim I believe. Our defense is the worst in the league in getting it out of our blue line. Every game there is at least 2 turnovers in our end. We give up countless odd man rushes. Yes I would love Kane, and Miller deserves a cup, just wanted it to be in Buffalo.
shrader Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 If Kypreos wants to propose a deal like that, he should also add in a couple extra pieces to include Crawford in the deal. If Buffalo ever moves Ryan Miller, they're going to have to get another goalie back. If Chicago brings in a goalie, especially one with a longterm deal, they're not going to keep Crawford at $2.67 million per year.

If we're trading Miller for anyone, that's pretty much the same as giving up on this season anyway. What happens in the extremely unlikely scenario where the Sabres do manage to trade for Patrick Kane? Will kids in Buffalo get the day off from school? Do we just start ringing church bells all over the city? I'm sorry; I just can't imagine anything that good ever happening.
sabills Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Kane scares me. He has a Roy-esk reputation...

Kane is good and has had some success but I also think people in Buffalo overvalue him somewhat. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him on the sabres but its the hometown kid situation. Like Kaleta, like kennedy. I could see Pegula instructing Regier to do it more for the public relations spectacle more than anything. IMO
apuszczalowski Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 But wait a minute, Why would the Blackhawks want an expensive goaltender? I thought it was common knowledge now that you build your team infront of the goaltender and put just anyone back there? I thought thats the only way to build a winning team?

Losing Miller and getting Kane does not do too much for me.....
Porsche Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Dunno about this one I'd honestly rather keep miller both are in a slump year (miller being more then a year) but if we really could get Kane what would spark him to be an amzzying forward again on the sabres lineup? Who would he line with to " gel" ? He obviously isn't doing it with the all stars he's with on the hawks so i feel he would not be a saveing grace for buffalo and we would be down. A seasoned goalie even if he's inconsistent...

In this hypothetical deal, it would make a lot of sense to add Crawford into the mix. That would then allow the teams to balance out the money a little better.
apuszczalowski Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 I think the deal would have to include either Crawford or Emery. Goalies get swapped, deal probably also includes Roy or a puck moving defencemen (Sekera?) cause the Hawks are also looking for that. As for Kane, I think he does get a little overrated around here cause he is a local kid who was drafted high, but for somereason, he reminds me too much of Roy, just seems kinda immature (Cabbie incident, wasn't he visibly drunk during the SC parade in Chicago too?) and lazy some times.
beerme1 Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 What happens in the extremely unlikely scenario where the Sabres do manage to trade for Patrick Kane? He would get the key to the city. Free Super Mighty's for a year and a truck. A big black truck!
wonderbread Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 You're not supposed to say "touche" unless you're acknowledging that somebody got one over on YOU. Silly. The correct term here, if I may, is BURNNNNNNNNN!! :D carry on. Touche' Douche'

Eleven Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Interesting to see Chicago fans on various sites saying that they want this trade because Kane doesn't score anymore and doesn't hit. Yet we're clamoring for him.
inkman Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Interesting to see Chicago fans on various sites saying that they want this trade because Kane doesn't score anymore and doesn't hit. Yet we're clamoring for him. As long as Kane is the best player in the deal, which most think he is, he'd be a welcome addition. They need to address hitting, size and toughness, but as long as they aren't giving up what little of it they have to get him, I'm all for it.

Lanny Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Andy Strickland: There are few goaltenders Chicago would consider moving a Patrick Kane for. Among those is Buffalo goaltender Ryan Miller. Sources close to Miller confirm his frustration with the Sabres organization and tell me he’d waive his modified no-trade clause to go to Chicago. http://www.truehockey.com/articles/Picture-Ryan-Miller-in-Chicago-01
TheMadCap Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Lindy would play him on the 4th line with Ellis and Cody Mc! Sorry, couldn't resist!

Yet we're clamoring for him. Yeah, his 12 goals and 45 points would put him 3rd and 2nd on this team. Man, that would suck.
Patty16 Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Lindy would play him on the 4th line with Ellis and Cody Mc! Sorry, couldn't resist! Can Kane fit into Lindy's SYSTEM ???
Who Else? Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Can Kane fit into Lindy's SYSTEM ??? An undersized forward that is overpaid and underproducing. I think he'll fit in just fine. Hell make him captain.
JJFIVEOH Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Uh oh, Enroth's starting tonight........... you know what that means.
Patty16 Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 so bitter, he's one of the best players in the league. He's consistenly put up 70+ points. playing on the top line too. He would be 2nd in points on our team. Relax people theres nothing to this rumor.
