Sabres 4pm press conference: Gaustad inked to 5 year, $15 million extension. This helps our team more than anything else we could have done!

 

Every poster here read that and thought "Yup, that sounds about right."

Prediction: It's going to be zero or one move (which would be trading Gaustad for picks). The opportunity to create cap space for the summer and beyond will be squandered, and we'll be locked into essentially the same deeply flawed "core" for another year.

cap space for who? this summers crop looks terrible.

 

Cap space isn't only for free agency, it's helpful in making trades. Requiring trades to be money in money out makes them harder to pull off, particularly substantial trades.

You know, I expect this from a certain set of posters, but why must you go there? Setting up a strawman and then declaring action based upon the strawman you just made up should be beneath you.

I don't see anything happening other than Goose and that will most likely be a 2nd rounder from Philly. Off to the West Coast trip - at least Roy does not leave another gap at Center :)

My gut is telling me they re-signed Goose. No changes for now because they believe they can make a run for a spot. "There's no one on the market better than Gaustad at what he does."

Darcy has made a move every year as long as I can remember. He will make a move albeit a minor one.

 

Parise and Doan would make a huge difference on this team.

 

Doan would be a phenominal addition to this team.

To be fair, he could've been insinuating that Darcy should have already been fired.
