Jarrett Stoll is an expiring contract. I could see Stoll being part of any moving of players.

Stoll would be a perfect fit for the Bruins. A physical player with some offense game. He would be an instant fan favorite in Boston.

Just 3 games in the AHL so NHL scouts decided to hold a convention at the War Memorial to see the #Amerks play the Hershey #Bears.

 

At least 12, maybe more, NHL scouts are in the #ROC to watch the #Amerks vs. #Bears. Trade winds or just no other games? Probably both.

 

Among NHL teams with scouts at #Amerks vs. #Bears: Leafs, Wild, Blues, Blackhawks, Ducks, Senators, Avs, Oilers, Canucks, Flyers, Penguins.

Gotta keep up, weave; current thinking is that the Sabres unilaterally can force such a trade if they want it bad enough.

That seems like a better option than Reiger's current MO of sitting around with his thumbs up his arce doing nothing. Maybe he is hoping a quality center will just fall from the sky, which is still a better plan than signing Leino. :thumbsup:

If the Sabres acquired Richards I would immediately cease to be a fan. I can't stand Richards. I don't care how "good" he is. The cheap shots he's taken at some players is uncalled for. In my opinion he's a hair above Daniel Carcillo and Matt Cooke (even Matt Cooke 2.0).

They are supposetly looking after Stafford. I wonder if a Stafford for Stoll and Nolan deal would be something that would interest them?

Why would that interest the Sabres? Seems like a rental & a fringe NHL player wouldn't be worth it.

417 points in 527 games for Roy

 

Roy has more goals too.

 

I'd like Weiss as a 2nd or 3rd line center but he's not worth Roy IMO.

 

I'd take Weiss. Mainly because I don't care what it takes to get Roy off this team.

Wouldn't getting out of his contract be worth it? His $4 mil off the books for the next three years would be in the Sabres best interest.

I'm with you 100%. I can still picture Richards throwing a hissy fit in the first round last year. I'm not a Roy fan, but I'll take him over that D-bag any day.

Yeah, that way we could go pick up a center that averages 100 points a year with his $2 million dollar contract. Hell, why not do what Florida did last year and get rid of everybody.

An extra $4 mil available this off-season would help. Cash and assets will bring a quality center to the Sabres, not wishful thinking or a GM sitting on his hands.

You had to know which way the answers would go. :P

 

I see Kassian as Stafford's replacement so at this point I think Staff is pretty expendable. And seeing as we will need to lose at least one decent contract besides the FA's to clear cap space if we want to go get a big name player in the offseason, I am OK with moving Stafford for Stoll and whoever that other player is. (holy mother of run-on sentences!) Heck, maybe TPegs can work his magic and convince Stoll to stick around next season.

If it ain't going to bring in a quality center before the deadline, why deal now? Do you really think he'd bring in that much more before the deadline than in the offseason?

 

Paying $4 mil to a 15 goal a year winger that often disappears doesn't make this team better.

The rumored deal is to the Kings, who are scratching and clawing for a playoff spot. I doubt that deal happens in the offseason. LA needs something for now.

I don't want Darcy to bring in 1 more player. If he makes any trades it should be for picks only. Darcy's vision for this team obviously doesn't work. If there is to be a trade at least let the next GM have some picks to trade for their own version of the Sabres.
