Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Carter was told during a fan event in Columbus. lol You laugh.....but the Sabres have scheduled "Bowlarama" on Sunday night where you get the right to bowl with a member of the Sabres family for $1,000. I assume this was a Ted Black doing since they got rid of casino night and used to bowl in Pitt. It might be worth the grand to watch "the core" come to tears and make out after learning it's their last night together.

If you had a time machine and transported this roster, Regier and Ruff to the deck of the Titanic, they would end up surviving. All of them. :wallbash:

deluca67 Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Well if that happened, you'd never be able to call them soft again :P Unless they all ended up in the lifeboat because they thought the iceberg ran into Miller. ;)
TheChimp Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Unless they all ended up in the lifeboat because they thought the iceberg ran into Miller. ;) BWAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Drunkard Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Interesting tweet about the Carter trade. Chris Johnston @reporterchris With Jeff Carter en route to L.A., a contract once thought untradeable has been moved twice in the span of eight months. There is hope for us to move Stafford yet. Hell, that should give us hope of being able to move Leino's contract too.
deluca67 Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Hell, that should give us hope of being able to move Leino's contract too. Amen!
That Aud Smell Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I can't see putting him and Richards back together as a winning move. LA just doubled-down on their current group big time. ain't this the truth. Hell, that should give us hope of being able to move Leino's contract too. i've said it three times in the past week, so it must be true (to me): leino's going to pan out for the sabres.
RazielSabre Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 ain't this the truth. i've said it three times in the past week, so it must be true (to me): leino's going to pan out for the sabres. I'll second you on that. I'm not sure about the move by LA, it could work but its a bit of a unnecessary risk. Having said which I've now picked up Carter for my fantasy team so I have some faith.
shrader Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I understand why LA did it, they already bet the farm on this group of players being contenders and can't score to save their lives. I still don't like it for them because I don't like Carter at all. Horrible contract aside, if the locker room stuff is true, I can't see putting him and Richards back together as a winning move. LA just doubled-down on their current group big time. Good for Columbus though. They get a nice puck moving defenseman and a pick. Hell, I think it was worth it just to get rid of Carter alone when you consider his contract and that he was never going to give them 100%. Yeah, I'm not crazy about this one from the LA point of view. That's a pretty steep price for a guy with an awful contract who has been mailing it in all season. And then you hit the biggest issue I have with it, they've reunited Carter and Richards. Imagine those party guys in a city like LA. Look out.

LastPommerFan Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Hell, that should give us hope of being able to move Leino's contract too. We can ditch this for nothing, if we need the space, we'll make it.
Kevbeau Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I'm not a fan of Carter as a player, but I can see him thriving in LA. He'll be back to being a 2nd (maybe 3rd) line center....not having to worry about being a set up man and can focus on his shoot first mentality. I admit I'm not too familiar with the Kings lineup and injury situation but looking at them down the middle....wow! 1: Kopitar 2: Richards/Carter 3: Carter/Richards 4: Stoll

Read this morning they plan on playing Carter at RW. Makes sense.
nobody Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Tom Gulitti @TGfireandice Devils officially announce trade. It's' Foster, Veilleux, Palmieri and Washington's 2012 2nd round pick for Marek Zidlicky. Wild also get conditional draft pick in 2013 in the trade.
Lanny Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Rangers trade Wolski to Panthers for 3rd round pick and minor league player. Making room for a big contract? (Nash???) Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Michael Vernace is mnr league player. Pick is 2013. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie #TradeCentre NYR trade Wojtek Wolski to FLA for defenceman Mike Vernace and a 3rd round pick in 2013. Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Wolski very good in shootouts which is partly why Panthers wanted him.
nobody Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 So Wolski and his $4mil deal get traded. Darcy? Do you see how this works? I know - you were holding out for a 2nd round pick for Boyes weren't you? Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Wolski very good in shootouts which is partly why Panthers wanted him.

Yes - why didn't he trade an injured player who can't play right now and wouldn't pass a physical! Darcy is terrible.
nobody Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Yes - why didn't he trade an injured player who can't play right now and wouldn't pass a physical! Darcy is terrible. Can't pass a phsyical but he might play tonight per Lindy? Boy, I hope the NHLPA hears about that!
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Can't pass a phsyical but he might play tonight per Lindy? Boy, I hope the NHLPA hears about that! Shush.....haven't you heard? The Sabres have lost 23,459 man games to injury this year. Sure, that tally includes Colin Stuart, Cory Tropp, McNabb, Whitmore, and every other dingleberry that would have never sniffed the roster this year and played 2 periods before missing 4 months.....but IT COUNTS!
TheChimp Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Can't pass a phsyical but he might play tonight per Lindy? Boy, I hope the NHLPA hears about that!

Well, it undeniably included their 2 best and most important players in Miller and Myers, and the Sabres have undeniably been much better since those 2 have been back and found their games.
