Thanks to Myers for underscoring my point there.

Here's the only advice for the Sabres... SHOOT THE GD PUCK.

Two on one.. Pommer shoots.. Roy skates by Brodeur... and the puck stays live. My men's league team does this and they wonder why I tell them go to the net... ugh.

Vanek with a seeing-eye goal. We'll take it. Good shift that got rewarded. Hope this gets us fired up.

GO SABRES!!!

Fired up to watch Roy skate lazily thru the zone.

Just hand the game to them, the call on Hoff, it looked like he barley touched the guy and he went flying. I can see the Weber penalty, but a couple of the others were garbage. The Devils are flopping around the ice looking for calls.

Seems the officials let everybody get away with whatever they wanted to for the last 3 weeks, now they decide to change it up a little. How the hell can any team prepare for a game when they don't know what the NHL is going to order the refs to do on a particular night?

Apparently its illegal to hit anyone near the net....awful calls tonight.

Well, it was a cross-check.. he could have hit him just as easily without using the stick.

Yep.. and since the refs are calling it why wouldn't they do it. The Sabres need to work it to their advantage and not be stupid and put sticks in people's feet.

Since most of you know I'm never one to bitch about officiating, I need to state my case about what Mike Weber just got called for.

He hit Parise with a decent shot, a shot i've seen 1000 times not called a penalty by Chara, Boychuk, McQuiad, Pronger,Coburn, etc.

Due to the fact that a pussified (not my view, the league's) Sabres player did it, they call it a penalty. The NHL has established this protocol. If you are a player on a team that thugs it up with regularity, the infractions are looked at with less severity than the usual mugging taking place on the ice by your team and therefore not called penalties. If your team can't thug it up, like Buffalo, any infraction of physical violence is deemed a penalty because it us out of the ordinary.

Why can't the NHL just call a penaly a penalty.?
