spndnchz Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Happy Valentines Day everyone! Brodeur in net for the Devils. Miller has allowed one or no goals in five of his last six starts versus the Devils, going 4-1-1 with a 1.14 GAA.
Oakstream Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Let's not show the Devils any love. Must win!
Andrew Amerk Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I shall be there. In the press box of all things.
TheMatrix31 Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Sabres/Devils eh. Probably going to be a boring affair like last time. Just win dammit!
CallawaySabres Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Well, this is it. For the first time, I really feel like this is the season on the line. I knew the letdown was coming up for Tampa but tonight is different. Washington and Montreal both lost last night and Buffalo can get within 6 with a win. If they pull this out, I really feel as though they are going to make the playoffs. If they lose (which I do not foresee), the season is all but dead in my eyes. Obviously the season is not technically over (or their chances at playoffs), but to me, personally, it will be. Back to back losses are no longer a luxury as they play at home with their backs against the wall. I don't see the typical 1-0 or 2-1 outcome as I believe the offense will have to force the issue tonight. After 2 dead periods to open up against Tampa, the Sabres come out flying in the first and those posts that still ring in our heads will be transformed into goals. Stafford, Roy, Boyes, Ennis, Vanek, Pommer - everybody on the same level tonight and that is what brings it home. Forget the garbage for the last couple months and get these two points. This team will be elite within a couple years so if you want to be a part of it, show up. The real run starts tonight................
deluca67 Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Game #56 tonight, time is running out. Need to pick up the points and see where it leaves the Sabres at the end of the night. No excuses for not showing up for the first two periods tonight.
Eleven Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I shall be there. In the press box of all things. Very cool.
LGR4GM Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I dislike this "holiday" I'm still not interested in this team sneaking in. It will be interesting to see how fragile they are after that loss. Hope Darcy plugged his fax back in an the dead weight goes bye bye. Go sabres :|
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I shall be there. In the press box of all things. Say "Hi, Lindy" for me. Thanks. Hope Darcy plugged his fax back in an the dead weight goes bye bye. Go sabres :| This is one of my favourites ... Walked to the big Superstore (Loblaws chain grocery store in Atlantic Canada) here yesterday, just to watch all the beaten down men in line to buy flowers and cards ... :P . Yet another fine Hallmark moment. EDIT: HOPING FOR A FULL 60 MINUTE EFFORT AND A BIG WIN TONIGHT!
87168 Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Say "Hi, Lindy" for me. Thanks. This is one of my favourites ... Yet another fine Hallmark moment. You made a special trip just to see that? hahahaha Anyway Go Sabres!
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 You made a special trip just to see that? hahahaha Anyway Go Sabres! Nope. I plan my whole day around that walk ... it's only about 5 minutes. A great break in a hectic day ... I'm an accountant, with my own practice, and it's that time of year ya know.
Derrico Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Will the wife allow me to watch this one on Valentine's Day? It's a huge game, I'm sure she'll understand.....I'll be there on Sunday, please win this one to make that game interesting.
dEnnis the Menace Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 girlfriend is working tonight, so we're doing something tomorrow...means tonight i can listen (I still have an undying hatred for MSG and TWC...) to the game while I work on getting my taxes filed! Sabres need to do something awesome to make tonight a good night ;)
OverPowerYou Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I'm not sure why everyone is freaking out about the playoffs... We have a whole 1/3 of our season left and the only injuries are Hecht and McCormick. We're finally healthy enough to make a strong playoff push..

We have a whole 1/3 of our season left and the only injuries are Hecht and McCormick. We're finally healthy enough to make a strong playoff push.. This board is full of hyperbole. All the games are big, but not one of them is a make or break the season game.
nfreeman Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I'm not sure why everyone is freaking out about the playoffs... We have a whole 1/3 of our season left and the only injuries are Hecht and McCormick. We're finally healthy enough to make a strong playoff push.. You can't hide from the math. They have 54 points and 27 games left. They will probably need 95 points to get in, so that means they will need another 41 points. So they need to go something like 19-5-3, which is an extremely strong pace and pretty unlikely to occur. It's not impossible, and I expect we're all rooting for it to happen, but it does mean that every loss -- especially losing at home to a lousy team like TB because they didn't show up for the first 2 periods -- really hurts.
Samson's Flow Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I'm hoping that Miller continues his hot play because this is going to be a typical 2-1 type NJ snoozefest. The game tonight comes down to which goalie plays better, Miller or Brodeur. And as was mentioned above, this is a huge swing game since those above us lost yesterday.
ROCBuffalo Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Here we go boy's, we really need this one as many of you have said. I heard that the Sabres are thinking of trading Stafford for Jermey Lin straight up to run the point............. A Sabres win tonight would be Lintastic! Go SABRES!

I just can't avoid the NBA hype machine. He is by far the least athletic/intimidating/impressive looking 20 and 10 guy I have ever seen play in the NBA. Based on my litmus test I just can't see how the rest of the league doesn't shut him down in a week or so. but i've been wrong before. great story regardless...

I hear Miami is working on a Lebron and wade for Lin deal right now.......Also here that Jordan was thinking of coming out of retirement again this year but was so fearful of how he would look compared to Lin that he quickly changed his mind.... I also hear that Chuck Norris can't compete against Lin and that Lin is his kryptonite

This. Except I'm banking on it being 92 points and we have to go something to the order of 17-6-4.
Samson's Flow Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 This. Except I'm banking on it being 92 points and we have to go something to the order of 17-6-4. That's still a sizable hill to climb. I just don't see it but I can appreciate anyone who has the optimism to still believe.
Derrico Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 That's still a sizable hill to climb. I just don't see it but I can appreciate anyone who has the optimism to still believe. Oh for sure it is. Every game is absolutely huge at this point even though there's still a third of the season left.

How hollow is your relationship that a bunch of junk from Wegman's is the best thing you can come up with? Yikes.
