LTS Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 I'm amazed that people didn't suddenly go after Orpik.. because that's how players are these days. However, you can see Paille almost smiling when gets up. It looks a LOT worse than it is... still, impressive.
biodork Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 This probably should have been in the Around the NHL thread, but that was a sweet hit (even more so because he wasn't injured, IMO). I can't believe Paille just bounced right back up after that.

It's a cool NHL hit, for sure, but Paille was basically skating fast and bounced off or Orpik. Oprik didn't send him flying; it was mostly his own momentum.
bunomatic Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Nice clean hit. Paille was a good sport about it. As LTS said guys want to fight now days after good hits and its pretty stupid. Heard kessler say the other day that if you are going to throw a big hit good or bad you have to be willing to drop the gloves. Not sure if I agree with that. There's nothing wrong with a good clean hit even if it does hurt someone.
frissonic Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 what do they mean "almost hits his head on the ice"?! that thing bounced like a basketball! i bet he's hating life tomorrow.
rbochan Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 I'm surprised the NESN crew weren't whining for the next 20 minutes about the lack of an interference penalty.

inkman Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXxRiKVV3FQ Perhaps this is what the "OHL body checker of the year" was all about. He was really good at taking the hits. :flirt:

He was probably smiling because he knew now that he would finally show up on a highlight reel this season
