I just booked a trip for April. Going to hit Mt St Michele and the Normandy beaches, then fly to Latvia and get a car and drive around Latvia and Lithuania. Maybe I'll stop and see Zemgus' family while I'm around.

My wife has this grabber claw thing that she uses to get laundry out of the washer because she’s short. Tonight my two year old was using that claw to hit a ball around the floor, constantly shouting “hockey stick!”. I feel like I’ve done a good job.

That was a quick recovery from the jet lag fueled hangover of only 1 week ago. Luckily your liver might be ready for another go-round next month, especially with the advantage of flying west to get home.

I don't drink often, that's a maybe a couple times a year thing, so the liver has time to recoup. I'm just excited to get back into travel more. It's been far. Too long. I like going to new places, renting a car and exploring.

Details of what that is.

It demonstrates a foundational understanding of network security. A lot of it deals with wireless and cloud networks, encryption, threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigations.

Passed the CompTIA Sec+ exam this weekend! A little later start but on the way.

Congrats.  I don't need that qualification my self, but several people on my team at work do.  It's not at all easy; several fail the first time.

Just like medical terms are Greek to a lot of people; that IT/network speak is Greek to me.

Just learning the stupid EMR gives me migraines.

Congrats, sounds like a lot of work you put in!

Ahhh EMR. The first time I started pulling data from those, they didn’t list units at all. It was really fun trying to figure out if someone was 160 lbs or 160 kg… two realistic numbers on extremely opposite ends of the spectrum.

Dog went in for surgery today. Thankfully my wife has connections with people who work at vet offices and to some vets herself through her organization. The vet she uses with her organization gave us some straight shot answers... over the weekend we forwarded her medical files and the doctor cleared a spot for surgery today.

Doc said it went really well. My poor girl is exhausted (as to be expected) but she put up all the energy she could when she got home.

Doc later on let us know that the tumor had cratered (or some language) and that it could have burst at any time which would have led to her bleeding out if we had not had the surgery so soon.  FWIW, the original vet had let us know that she was a "ticking time bomb" but as they needed to call around for specialists to handle this the best they could get was August and at 4-5x what we paid.

Nothing is a given and she's not out of the woods by a long shot... but she's home and the path is there.  This dog survived eating 40 pieces of sugar-free gum without a single side effect. It helped that she doesn't chew food and apparently has an iron stomach (we could not get her to throw up the gum even giving her stuff that made me want to vomit).

I can handle 13 years of suffering with the Sabres.. I cannot handle one hour of suffering for my dog.  But... again, the road ahead looks good.  So... cheers!

I’ve never seen a youth lacrosse league before. Are they common?
