OK, serious question:  is there a simple way to tell whether a given bird one comes across on a pond or lawn near a pond in a big park is a duck as opposed to a goose?

When you pat a duck on the head it sits there.  When you pat a goose on the head it chases you around a circle.

Like a retriever and a shepherd.

We haven’t had a drop of rain in forever. The lawns are crispy. We had fifteen minutes of rain with the sun shining.

My boy Hobe chilling on the edge of cover in the rain...

It was hot today. Glad someone found a place to cool down.

One good thing to come out of this whole Covid thing is our cat Django.

That little dude looks like he’s found a slice of life. Good for him. Good for you too.

I want a cat's life.

This is my neighbor’s cat Huckleberry. No relation to our resident @Huckleberry that I know of.

He was an old cat when we built the place seven years ago. He used to be a much brighter shade of orange and we haven’t seen him in a while. He’s also traveling a good distance to get here so it sure was nice to see the old boy!

This guy was hanging out by the rock wall today. Much less aggressive than the other guy I saw. (Oops. I meant “seen”)

He hasn't eaten in 2 weeks. He'll be on the lookout.

My wife and I went out on our covered balcony at 3am with a glass of wine to watch a thunderstorm roll through.  It was great and validated why I retired as early as I could.  I'm really starting to appreciate the simpler things in life.

New doggo soon. Need to wait until he's 8 weeks til we pick him up (12 days from now). None of my sneak Sabres names have been accepted by Mrs and Jnr ?Dylan and Jeff(!) Were actually in contention for a while.

I'd name him Schoeny because he looks like he could be a great protector (and has reddish hair).  Or maybe Ruff, that's a good dog name and a sneaky way to get the Sabres in there.

My view for the next week.  Kids (not pictured) were oblivious to the wild horses casually hanging out 100 feet behind them.
