BagBoy Posted October 1, 2016 Report Posted October 1, 2016 I'll tell you what's awesome. It's October and we finally have weather that is humane, for lack of a better word. I haven't had my windows open in 5 months until now. This summer sucked from a weather perspective, but it's finally over. Quote
Eleven Posted October 1, 2016 Report Posted October 1, 2016 Wow. Well, really glad I checked in here today. Quote
shrader Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 I just ordered a new tv with the sole intention of having it here in time for hockey season. Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 Wow!! First visit in a long while and posting right after a post by the even longer MIA shrader. Welcome home, my friend. It's a new year today at sunset ... 1438, which is awesome. It's my birthday in a few days ... also awesome. The Sabres season starts in a few days ... I hope it's awesome ... they all are to me. The Bills won big in Masstown, as did the Blue Jays. but I am not expecting much from the Jays this year. And lastly, but certainly not leastly ... PA, it's *an oldie, but goodie* and your reference in the politics thread certainly is awesome. Quote

inkman Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 I must be the strange one, I never liked Justice the way I liked the first three. Something about the production just didn't have the raw energy of the first three. Completely agree Quote
Neo Posted October 3, 2016 Report Posted October 3, 2016 (edited) Genuinely good people are still out there, and they are awesome. I had a ceiling fan installed by an electrician at my house back in early August. Nice young guy. At the time he'd asked who was helping me move, and I'd told him I didn't know yet and would probably end up hiring someone once I figured out which weekend in September. He'd offered that a number of his friends from youth group have trucks and he could probably get a group of people to help move me for free (!) if I'd like. So last Sat. he and 4 other guys and 2 girls (none of whom I'd met) showed up to my apartment with three trucks, and they had my apartment emptied and everything unloaded at the house inside 2.5 hours, and since we finished early, they invited me to join them for lunch after. Some of the nicest, most amazing people I've ever met, and it still blows me away that someone would do that for a stranger. Triple awesome!! The newspaper story that never gets written. Oops, just saw the follow (dust) up. Glad it worked out - careful's always good - seems you were! And NS, our Northern Light, so good to see you, as always. Edited October 3, 2016 by N'eo Quote

And with respect to the Jays, you win against the O's on Tuesday and anything can happen in a long series. Plus the Jays starting pitching is much improved this year compared to last. ...the bullpen on the other hand. Quote

Who do you start on Tuesday night? I'm tempted to put Liriano (sp?) a lefty out there. Dickey (is he hurt?) with his confusion, as we won't have to worry about the cool weather. Quote

I want nothing to do with Dickey in a win or go home game. Even when he's pitching well I always have the sense of impending doom. I wish that Sanchez was available, but we used him in the clinching game. I guess Stroman or Liriano would be my choices. Looks like it is projected to be Estrada. 2-0 vs O's bodes well but not exactly confidence inspiring. http://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/74389/blue-jays-clinch-al-wild-card-spot-host-orioles-on-tuesday Edit: Then again the Orioles website says either Stroman or Liriano v. Jimenez or Tillman. So nobody knows. http://m.orioles.mlb.com/news/article/204742708/orioles-blue-jays-al-wild-card-game-starters/ Edited October 3, 2016 by Touched by Boyes Quote

He has pitched very well since coming over at the deadline, especially his last 3, or 4. And he is a lefty against a predominantly right handed lineup. The big 4 bats (yes, I am including Tulo ... game winning hit yestrerday) have to come alive in a big way and they will have to pile it on. Without a big lead going into the later innings there will be trouble ... the O's pen is second to none and their closer has been lights out all season ... 47 for 47 in saves, if I am not mistaken. Yes have to get a lead early because you are not scoring on Britton. After reading more I think I am leaning towards Liriano as well. He's pitched well since the trade, has playoff experience and the platoon matchups help his case. Quote
Samson's Flow Posted October 4, 2016 Report Posted October 4, 2016 Officially Stroman v Tillman for tonight. I guess the Jays are hoping good Stroman shows up instead of the guy with a 7+ ERA in the last month. He has the stuff to be dominant, but could also blow up and put the game out of reach early. That being said, I am not at all afraid of Tillman. I know he has had decent stats this year, but he is JAG imo and has mediocre stuff. Again, need to get the lead early as the 9th inning comeback is not likely tonight. Quote

Once it became clear that it was Tillman the Jays decided to role the dice with Stroman and hope he has another game like #5 of the ALDS last year. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 4, 2016 Report Posted October 4, 2016 Got my hands on some of an early batch of Founders KBS. The only question is whether I have the discipline to save it for the Bills game. Quote
