These are great folks. Thanks for contributing. I like the Black Sabbath selection. Fairies Wear Boots. About sums up the aggressiveness of this team.

I am getting clues to everyone's age.

Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

Life During Wartime - Talking Heads

Same Old Song and Dance - Aerosmith

Once in a Lifetime - Talking Heads (my favorite)

I am unsophisticated in the ways of linking video.

Props to Armagideon Time (The Clash, the only band that matters)

Bet you can't guess my age from what I suggested.

From what I gather the Sabres put up a spirited battle last night, but I don't see it as a turning point.

So ...

In honour of what will likely be a long summer ...

Bananarama - Cruel Summer

and ...

The Specials - You're Wondering Now

Since this is one of the worst teams/seasons of Sabres hockey I've ever witnessed (and I've been a lifer since 1980 with Bob Sauve between the pipes), I've decided to add some humor and pick out some song titles that epitomizes this sorry ass team. Feel free to add your own.

I'm Going Down (Bruce Springsteen)

Knockin' on Heaven's Door (Bob Dylan)

Highway to Hell (ACDC)

Communication Breakdown (Led Zeppelin)

Free Falling (Tom Petty)

Slip Sliding Away (Paul Simon)

Lost Sailor (Grateful Dead)

F*!#In' Up (Neil Young & Crazy Horse)

Should I Stay or Should I Go? (Clash)

Hell Of A Season (Black Keys)

So Lonely (The Police)

Intravenous (Catherine Wheel)

So Hard Done By (Tragically Hip)

Numb (U2)

Piss Up A Rope (Ween)

Got Me Under Pressure (ZZ Top)

Everything Must Go (Steely Dan)

Show Don't Tell (Rush)

Blow Out (Radiohead)

Well, I'm sure there are a bunch more... C'mon add your favorites...

I have had alot of fun with this thread. Thank you

If it were mine I'd shut her down with this ...

The Doors - The End

I can't think of a more proper send off to this thread, but that's just me.

With all due props to REM.

I prefer this version by a bunch of crazy Newfies.

Nice. Saw those guys back in the late 90s. Brock College in St Catherines, Moxy Fruvous opened, and they served Guinness in the widget cans. I was actually there for Fruvous, never heard of GBS before that.

EDIT:

Heh, found this on someone else's page:

Nice.

My wife and I went to see GBS here in Halifax. They are a real fun show ... lots of dancing and foot stomping ... especially during their performances of traditional Newfoundland "toe-tapers". Memories of youth ... that night my wife saw a side of me never revealed to her before. Nothing like seeing them in their stomping grounds, well pretty close anyway.

If memory serves (an iffy proposition at best these days) when the original GBS base player retired a few years back the basist and drummer from Moxy joined (although not officially) the boys for studio recordings and tours.

they closed out their most recent tour, and buffalo rocks the harbor, this past august. one of the better nights i've had in a long, long time.

audio quality is poor, but it shows that the crowd was ~6000 strong.

Awesome!!

I'm glad Hawerchuk did not see my post along with The Doors vid.

Seems like we have a GBS thread happening here (hummm ... probably not a good idea).

Just proves my theory that no matter where you live at the time and no matter where you see the boys ... when one is at a GBS concert ... you are a NEWFOUNDLANDER!!

You guys should check out their "Great Big DVD". Filmed in Ottawa (I think) a few years back ... no matter they trucked in enough Newfies to fill the place. The DVD is all over YouTube.

The only thing that comes close to the experience, IMHO (watch yourself Inky ... there are minors on this board now) is seeing Bob Marley live.
