sabresnutinphoenix Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 We'd pick 5th if the draft were today....
Oakstream Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 We'd pick 5th if the draft were today.... Well, that's a new Vanek, right? At least something to look forward to.
SwampD Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Yet strangely, every thread involving a win, granted it's been a while, isn't. Let's keep the fire Lindy stuff to the fire Lindy threads. I'm almost positive that I can't adhere to those rules.
carpandean Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 We'd pick 5th if the draft were today.... And, really, you should acknowledge that the Ducks are two points behind, but have two games-in-hand. So, I'd say that there in the 4-5 range right now. You are technically right, but I don't like giving GIHs no value.
Eleven Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 I'm almost positive that I can't adhere to those rules. I don't think that it's a rule. I think it's a mod's request, and I'm sticking to it (and I have been since before that request). There really are enough threads to debate that stuff. Swamp, love ya, buddy; I think you add a lot. This isn't personal. But I'm just not getting into it in this thread.

It's time.
... Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Some interesting Tweets from Bucky: "Do the #sabres need to actually be at the bottom of the standings to hit rock bottom? Serious changes needed, starting with GM." "Making moves is tough for #sabres when they cant find trading partners because GMs felt alienated in the past. Big problem." "NHL exec tells me other day, paraphrasing: Regier has no excuse for not returning phone calls and GMs are quietly laughing at #sabres now."

korab rules Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Bucky, Harrington, Sullivan and Hamilton must be creaming their pants right now. Their wildest dreams are coming true.
OverPowerYou Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Why the heck weren't we this bad when Crosby was in the NHL draft?
Oakstream Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Why the heck weren't we this bad when Crosby was in the NHL draft? Well, one could say we were. We were one of three teams (I think) with the highest chance of winning that lottery (I believe it was Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Florida). Pittsburgh won.
korab rules Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Why the heck weren't we this bad when Crosby was in the NHL draft? We were. We lost the lottery. Karma after winning the wheel spin in 1970.
sabres1970 Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 We were. We lost the lottery. Karma after winning the wheel spin in 1970. Hopefully we'll have some luck and land this guy: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/mikhail_grigorenko Franchise center.
EasternOHSabresFan Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Bucky, Harrington, Sullivan and Hamilton must be creaming their pants right now. Their wildest dreams are coming true. I'm sure they put a hex on the Sabres so that they lose... yeah, the media WANTS the Sabres to lose. They also shot JFK from the grassy knoll, buried Jimmy Hoffa under the Meadowlands, arranged for D. B. Cooper to go missing, etc... Put the onus on where it belongs, the team, and not on the media.
korab rules Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 No - they dont want the Sabres to lose - they want to crucify ruff and regier for sport. They have been trying their damnedest for years, whether it was justified or not. Leave the attitude at TBD.
neverenough Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Come on Terry, give Ruff more money!

"NHL exec tells me other day, paraphrasing: Regier has no excuse for not returning phone calls and GMs are quietly laughing at #sabres now." I asked Bucky to elaborate on the second one, but no reply yet. If the third one is remotely true, then Darcy should be fired tonight. Right damn now. Your team is in a complete free-fall into the basement of the league and you have the balls not to return calls from other GMs?
Bmwolf21 Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 More Sabres futility, courtesy of Bill Hoppe (via Twitter): With only 115 goals in 48 games, the #Sabres on pace for only 196 goals. Franchise low is 190 in 02/03. Post-lockout low is 231.
wonderbread Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Awesome. This season is the perfect shitstorm of a season.

Right damn now. Your team is in a complete free-fall into the basement of the league and you have the balls not to return calls from other GMs? I read the third as a reference to past transgressions. So GMs are finding it funny that Darcy is reaching out now cause in the past he didn't return phone calls when they were.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 You want 'em to blow it up? Why not start at the bottom? PTR
Two or less Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 This road trip just got even worst and longer. We don't have a pilot that can fly us home. #ugh Per Jhonas Enroth on twitter. No pilot? Make them take a bus. Maybe they'll bond... ? https://api.twitter.com/#!/JEnroth125/status/160957933516103680

That's the way I took it too, just wanted him to confirm that I had correctly understood the tweet.
