kishoph Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I thought he closed his hand on it. If he had just batted it down that would be one thing, but he kinda shovels it down to his stick. It just didn't look right, and if I was the ref I would have waved it off too. Any surprise that it was Leo and Weber on the ice again, seems to be the reoccurring theme to this game.
FolignosJock Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Nice play by Weber to clear the crease  Dont tell eleven that....
SwampD Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Eddie O is a homer Putting the home guy on the national broadcast is just an awful job by NBC.
darksabre Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 i think the ref called a hand pass if he was calling closing his hand on the puck that is now a penalty Good call. Hand pass makes sense.
SarasotaSabre Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 It is really refreshing to hear this broadcast being blatantly, brutally honest in their assessment of the Sabres' terrible play - i.e., Pierre saying how a team can NEVER go offsides on the PP - something the Sabres do regularly that our home broadcast team NEVER criticizes. Also love how the NBC crew lit up Leino on that idiotic behind the back no look turnover. I would love to hear how the Sabres are truly viewed around the league right now - outside the bubble of the Buffalo media we are mostly captive to; I am sure we are the most underachieving team of this year, hands down....and the season is not even yet at the All Star Break.
hockeyhound Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 How long before Enroth starts throwing checks in front of the net? No one is stopping the Hawks from standing on the crease. The save he made in the first period was crazy; I think they had three whacks at it before he grabbed it.
FolignosJock Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Good call. Hand pass makes sense. milbury agrees with me....not that that means much
darksabre Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Any surprise that it was Leo and Weber on the ice again, seems to be the reoccurring theme to this game. Yeah, not shocked at all. Which is disappointing because I like both of them. Just not together.
deluca67 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 This team is on the verge of being an afterthought this season and they have zero intensity. This team does not seem interested in turning things around. No emotion, no urgency. I just don't think they care.
Carmel Corn Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 After 2 periods: +/- Stats: -3: Roy & Stafford -2: Leopold & Weber
darksabre Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 milbury agrees with me....not that that means much
deluca67 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Putting the home guy on the national broadcast is just an awful job by NBC. They have done a great job tonight.
RayFinkle Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Did I just hear that we lost Gausted? Who's gonna win us some draws? Maybe his linemates who stood there when Goose was laying in pain on the ice....there is something seriously wrong with the chemistry of this team.
SwampD Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 This game should be out of hand for the Sabres. Even down 2, it feels like the Hawks have left them in this game. Should be a good third.
JJFIVEOH Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 This team is on the verge of being an afterthought this season and they have zero intensity. This team does not seem interested in turning things around. No emotion, no urgency. I just don't think they care. After what they did the 2nd half of the season last year there is absolutely NO REASON why they should be playing like this!! They proved last year they can do it. The way they've been playing lately falls solely on Lindy's hands. Any team who gives a damn about the future of their team would do something to rectify the situation. Status quo is not going to work! Lindy's "system" is stale and his players won't respond to anything. Pominville is busting his ass and doing what he can to try and lead this team and nobody seems to give a damn.

Being on the west coast I can say that what I'm hearing is chuckles and I told you so's. You can't buy a championship is another favourite with many in the media. I've come to the conclusion that the sabres are viewed as a bit of a bush league org. and rightly so at this point in time imo. I've heard other teams colour guys etc openly wonder how Regier and Ruff can still be around. Doesn't surprise me. Many on here have voiced the same opinions.
hockeyhound Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Maybe his linemates who stood there when Goose was laying in pain on the ice....there is something seriously wrong with the chemistry of this team. Ask Razor what he would have done about that hit.
bunomatic Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Ask Razor what he would have done about that hit. I missed the first and a good part of the second period. What happened to goose?
SwampD Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 They have done a great job tonight. It's the appearance of impropriety.

Ryan Miller was the one who bailed them out last year, and got them going.
mrm33064 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I don't think they're not trying, but it just feels as though the entire team is waiting for someone to step up and take charge, and nobody is there to do it. There is no leadership - or at least no visible leadership - nobody to rally behind.
kishoph Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 . Also love how the NBC crew lit up Leino on that idiotic behind the back no look turnover. Lindy said it was a good play.
darksabre Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I missed the first and a good part of the second period. What happened to goose? Went to the boards and sorta turned his back on the blackhawks forechecker and took a shot in the back. Went into the boards sorta left shoulder/face first and crumpled. His visor was all bent out of shape. Either way, no one responded as usual. It shouldn't matter if the hit was dirty or not, you see a team mate down on the ice, you go hurt the closest guy you can find. Lindy said it was a good play. My eyes bugged out when he said that.
kishoph Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Ryan Miller was the one who bailed them out last year, and got them going. I believe that it was Enroth that got them started in the 2nd half of last season. I could be wrong.

What would the bruins have done? Or the 29 other teams in the league? This team stands alone in their wimpiness. Its embarrassing.
