87168 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Why bother? I'd rather listen to the play than them yammer on about whatever pops into their head.
FolignosJock Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Those shots should have never left the ice had Enroth had a decent team in front of him. I just dont understand why people blame the goalie as if he is soley responsible for the final score. I mean a 5 on 3 and we not only lose the faceoff but allow a shot to be taken on second in? come on it was a weak shot and the 5th goal was from a horrible angle and enroth was out of position, his team sucked on the other four goals
deluca67 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Because Gaustad is out so Lindy has to shorten the bench. :P Upper body injury, I know a guy in OZ that specializes in hearts.
wonderbread Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Ladie and gentleman, your 2011-2012 buffalo sabres. Be sure to renew your season ticket packages.
Iron Crotch Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Ladie and gentleman, your 2011-2012 buffalo sabres. Be sure to renew your season ticket packages. "Starting today, the Buffalo Sabres' reason for existence will be to win a Stanley Cup!"
SarasotaSabre Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Lindy said it was a good play. I thought you were joking but judging from another reply to your comment, apparently you were not......wow. I did not hear Lindy say that, but if he did - WOW, that is utterly disturning this crew has now gone about 2 solid minutes of nonstop play w/out a single mention of this game action, other than for Eddie to say something has to be done w/ this team ....
deluca67 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 "Starting today, the Buffalo Sabres' reason for existence will be to do nothing!" Whoever has laundry duty tonight for the Sabres has an easy night. No need to wash them.
darksabre Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I thought you were joking but judging from another reply to your comment, apparently you were not......wow. I did not hear Lindy say that, but if he did - WOW, that is utterly disturning The commentators' reasoning was that he was just trying to be positive, because this team is so fragile they need their feelings protected. Michel Therrien for head coach.
87168 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Well at least frasier will be on in a few minutes.
wonderbread Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 "Starting today, the Buffalo Sabres' reason for existence will be to win a Stanley Cup!" I have no doubt Pegulas intentions are genuine. I hope Ken Sawyer has a set! Maybe he can bend pegs ear.
Bmwolf21 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 This team looks totally lost and overmatched. They look like they are waiting for help to come or for the hammer to drop.
SwampD Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 "Starting today, the Buffalo Sabres' reason for existence will be to do nothing!" Whoever has laundry duty tonight for the Sabres has an easy night. No need to wash them. That's just funny.
OverPowerYou Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 i like how they keep saying "Let's keep this group together." Ummmmm no. This is the crap result we get when we keep our core together... This has been our core since 2008.
SabresIndy Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Hard to believe we're at this point with the way the summer went and the season started. But, the bottom line is that there aren't any legitimate excuses for this team to be playing like this. Injuries happen. It is, after all, a sport with sticks, pucks, ice and boards and large men (or in Gerbe's case, large boys) skating fast and occasionally crashing into each other. Everyone has injuries -- granted, Buffalo has had a bunch, but it still isn't any excuse. Pittsburgh, Philly and others have had significant injuries and they seem to be keeping it together. To channel my inner Lindy -- our best players haven't been our best players. That means that the GM needs to make some changes. Too bad we have left that position vacant ... wait, what's that you say? We have one? Oh. Didn't realize. From a hockey playing standpoint -- it's simple. Buffalo too often in this stretch hasn't done those simple things. The Buffalo teams I've always loved were the ones that embody the city -- blue collar, digging pucks out of the corner, having our goalie keeping us in it and winning on heart, determination and will. This team has none of those things. Starting with Timmy C and others -- we fell in love with guys that didn't possess the kind of grit you need...and we let the guys go that had it with a high level of skill to boot (Briere in particular). Getting pucks deep, making the safer pass, taking advantage when you can, solid goalie play and rolling three-four lines is what Buffalo needs. I'm all for spending to the cap, don't get me wrong...but you've got to spend wisely. This year isn't over by any means -- but the last two games seem to put Buffalo on near-life support.
Marvelo Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I think that Buffalo has got to be near the bottom of the list for good players to want to go to, besides maybe Columbus or Winnipeg.
87168 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 So last night 5 goals allowed. Tonight they allowed 6. Tomorrow 7?
Iron Crotch Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I have no doubt Pegulas intentions are genuine. I hope Ken Sawyer has a set! Maybe he can bend pegs ear. If he doesn't have the stones to fire Darcy then this is what he can expect. Fire Darcy then let the new GM pick his own coach. The move has been glaringly obvious for months... will he pull the trigger?!
Randall Flagg Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Who do you prefer: Sylvester and Gare or these guys?
87168 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I think that Buffalo has got to almost be at the bottom of the list for good players to go. I would disgree.
hockeyhound Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 This team looks totally lost and overmatched. They look like they are waiting for help to come or for the hammer to drop. LOST SAYS IT ALL!
SwampD Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I would disgree. If that helps you sleep at night, then God bless...
Lumpy Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 No heart. TIme to change. The coach is not getting things going. The players are quitting. Fire the coach. Let a few players go for picks. Addition by subtraction.
87168 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Who do you prefer: Sylvester and Gare or these guys? Definitely Sylv and Gare. These guys just flap their gums. Talking more about around the league news than the actual on ice action. It pisses me off.

No, he said it, they were basically laughing at him on WGR.
