Dannepanne Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I don't even want to predict a score. I haven't even decided if this game is worth watching :( Just another day in paradise... I won't be watching, can't remember the last time I saw these guys win when I've bothered catching the games :P
dEnnis the Menace Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I won't be watching, can't remember the last time I saw these guys win when I've bothered catching the games :P I didn't watch Toronto, they won, I watched a majority of the Isles game, they lost...I think I'm seeing a trend. Time Warner was doing me a favor lol
ubkev Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSPNQ82Sq4E that might be how this one goes...but I'll be watching anyways.
Bmwolf21 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Reggie says he's in. Looks like Finley's the scratch. Frankly I'd rather have Finley in and Grags out but with the Wings' speed I can see having the better skater in. Although it doesn't matter how fast and how well he skates if he keeps turning the puck over...

Although it doesn't matter how fast and how well he skates if he keeps turning the puck over... Either they skate around Finley or they take the puck away from Grags(or he gift wraps it and delivers it to them)...if the Sabres win this game it might very well be the definition of the word Fluke. Good news is I'm watching this game in real time. The Sabres are 3-1 when i do that, as opposed to 8-20-5 when i DVR the games.
kishoph Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Reggie says he's in. Looks like Finley's the scratch. I know Finley was a -2 the other night, but neither of those goals were directly his fault, in fact Leo left the man open on both goals, maybe because he threw a couple of hits and stuck up for a hit on Roy, getting into a fight (none of that stuff on this team). I'm just glad Lindy didn't bench MAG's, he's been pure garbage in our zone, but we really need his offense (2 assist since the beginning of Dec.). :wallbash:
Seannie34 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Stayed at the same hotel as the Sabres last night. Saw them heading to practice yesterday morning and they all seemed pretty pissed off. Saw Ruff in the casino last night till about 11 playing blackjack with Teppo. I did see Finley a couPle times getting in and out of the elevator and the guy is huge. After seeing him in person I expect him to be a physical force in the game. Go Sabres!

LTS Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Won't be watching tonight.. can't listen to Sylvester and Gare.. they are awful. The only saving grace is that it's not ALSO a NY/NJ game where they use the home feed and then the Buffalo announcers are over it. I had to turn off the Islanders game because it sounded like Sylvester, Gare, and Duff were sitting in a hotel room watching it on TV. One way to get rid of viewers is to make the broadcast completely unwatchable. Oh.. I do want to know how Brennan plays though.
LabattBlue Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Considering how many shots the Sabres have given up in recent games to mediocre teams, plus the patch work defense, plus the prolonged scoring slump by every player not named Vanek and Pominville, I could see Detroit easily putting up 40-50 shots and winning by 3+ goals. The only chance they may have is for Miller to play out of his mind.
frissonic Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I wouldn't have it any other way to tell you the truth. Maybe then these guys will get their heads out of their arses and realize they need to start playing hockey and not Disney on Ice (which is conveniently going to be at FNC soon). isn't their next home game in february?

They must have been going somewhere else (church maybe?) because, per the Bflo News Sabres Edge Blog, they did not practice yesterday. January 15, 2012 - 2:39 PM | Comment DETROIT -- The banged-up Sabres stayed off the ice today, like they often do on Sundays, and will skate Monday morning in Joe Louis Arena prior to their game against the red-hot Detroit Red Wings -- who will be trying to set a franchise record with their 15th straight home win.

Looked like they were heading to practice but obviously they were going somewhere else. Lindy didnt look like he was betting too much although it was a $20 minimum table.
LaLaLaFontaine Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Tonight will be like watching the game Adler Mannheim against Buffalo Sabres, only that we will feel like Mannheim: 1:8 :(
SabresMojo Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Sadly, I think that this game will be another he said she said, etc. The blame game, I haven't really read/heard anyone taking a ton of blame for this...injuries, yeah, but still...these guys coming to the team need to step up. I think the ONLY reason that MAG is still playing here is because of his +/-, he leads the team. The All Star break is next week, hopefully we get guys back by the Habs game on the 31st...gonna be a long road trip, especially starting out tonight.
ubkev Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Looked like they were heading to practice but obviously they were going somewhere else. Lindy didnt look like he was betting too much although it was a $20 minimum table. Just curious as to what kind of gambler Lindy was. I didn't think he was much of a casino goer as i have many contacts at Seneca and his name never seems to get brought up. (unlike the Bills players and Tim Connolly who are/were coming into the casino all the time) Anyways, Let's Go Buffalo! I'd love for them to win tonight and start up a huge run of games won, but another part of me just wants them to lose out and change the construct and make-up of this team and coaching staff and management.
Rico7 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Sabres have not won a game in Detroit in regulation since March 1994. Ouch!
frissonic Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 your constituents vehemently request to know where you got/made that.
darksabre Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 (snip) One of my favorite episodes of South Park. And a perfect depiction of tonight's action.
Robviously Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Post of the Year. We should give you a trophy for this one.
frissonic Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 One of my favorite episodes of South Park. And a perfect depiction of tonight's action. did you modify it? or was that actually IN the ep? *someone's showing their south park cherry ...*
sabres1970 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I just have a feeling that this overwhelmingly negative sentiment about tonight's game will reverse our luck. Because it seems that every time we get a game where people say they like our chances, we tend to lose convincingly. Don't get me wrong, I don't see them winning either, but a guy can hope.
darksabre Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 did you modify it? or was that actually IN the ep? *someone's showing their south park cherry ...* This is the clip from the episode where the South Park PeeWee team is allowed to take the place of Colorado in a game. RBO has modified the photo for maximum comedic value. http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/104347/we-are-the-champions
