TrueBlueGED Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 I've seen nothing but the same ol' from him. He just hasn't made a lot of the turn-overs tonight. That's half the battle is cutting down on the awful turnovers. The effort to dive at the loose puck to try to knock it in is something we almost never see from him, particularly this year. And when he was streaking down the left side and ripped a shot on net that created a rebound opportunity if anybody would've been there...9/10 times this season he just sails the shot way wide. On the other hand, the fact that these things stood out to me may not be the most encouraging thing in the world...
RazielSabre Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Giveaways killed us. Leino looked good. Roy with some good chances. Good to see the non-top lines score too. I didn't see any two on one's and stuff going on. Build on it boys. Thats the key, they need to use this as a starting point. A good win in that respect.

Roy and Stafford still give up on the play too early. They're slackers. In other news: Pominville is wound up tight! Did anyone catch his interview with Razor?
biodork Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 For once, we were worthy of highlights on NHL Tonight.
Iron Crotch Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 So, the question becomes: are you willing to sacrifice your liver for the remaining 40ish games? ;) A liver for a Stanley Cup is a fair trade! Plus you scientists can maybe figure out a way to make a new one. :P
biodork Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Must be the light schedule. A liver for a Stanley Cup is a fair trade! Plus you scientists can maybe figure out a way to make a new one. :P LOL
SportsFan88 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 A win is a win but I can't say I saw anything telling from this that indicates anything significant changing leading to a big streak or anything. Still 5 points out.
5THXIT Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Nice win, now if only the Bills can win Sun..............opps.......sorry..........forgot :(
Figster Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Feels good to win a hockey game, now If we can just keep it going.
kishoph Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Good game, got a much needed win, now to build on it tomorrow night.
Who Else? Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Where is the love for Ellis on this board? I read Leino played well a couple times. When? Ellis scores that goal sure it was luck, but it came from the only non-injured player that can take the puck off the wall and do something with it. If a top six forward banks it in you here about "great pressure" and that its a goal scorer's goal.

carpandean Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 From the Little Leafs (Marlies) game agains the Amerks, Finley beat up on one their players pretty badly. Great fight by the big man.
Derrico Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Great win! Finally, I can win my money and self respect back! Good effor and great win. Let's keep it going tomorrow!

He's built like a truck, no wonder he's good on the boards.
spndnchz Posted January 14, 2012 Author Report Posted January 14, 2012 McNabb questionable for tomorrow. :( Quiet room for McNabb.
OverPowerYou Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 I can't complain. The refs were at their all-time worst in last years playoffs (see: sabres vs flyers round 1) This is nothing compared to last year
Andrew Amerk Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 McNabb questionable for tomorrow. :( Noooooooooo
darksabre Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Telling someone they suck works as a motivational tool, but it is an incredibly weak motivator. Most people respond much better to increased responsibility and a feeling of being supported. Some people do respond favorably to being told they suck though, so you might just be one of those people who respond differently to different types of feedback. In that case: Your post on this board suck. Message received :D From the Little Leafs (Marlies) game agains the Amerks, Finley beat up on one their players pretty badly. Great fight by the big man. It was a good fight. He hit mostly shoulder pads till he landed the last punch. Wild ending to that game too.
Tyrannustyrannus Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 and now maybe the Bandits can beat the Rock tomorrow and we can have a sweep of Toronto!
SportsFan88 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Message received :D It was a good fight. He hit mostly shoulder pads till he landed the last punch. Wild ending to that game too. Ya aint kidding, are the Amerks the AHL's goons? Sheesh. Saw the boxscore, that had to be fun to attend From the Little Leafs (Marlies) game agains the Amerks, Finley beat up on one their players pretty badly. Great fight by the big man. That Finley has been quite a surprise, to think the guy started the year in the ECHL I believe and had been down there for a few years. Really came outta nowhere.

Really came outta nowhere. Not quite. He's a first round pick from 2005 who had an unfortunately-timed injury. Dude has a lot of fight in him to come back into pro hockey and by doing so the hard way. He has a humble contract with the Sabres now - let's hope he continues to develop and is ready for the Sabres next season. Now THAT boy could be a leader after all he has been through.
Andrew Amerk Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 That Finley has been quite a surprise, to think the guy started the year in the ECHL Finley started 2012 in Rochester. He also started this season in Rochester.
