Looks like Terry wants Yakupov.

That's perfectly fine with me. This team cannot and will not suck forever, if and when it gets bad enough, things will change, and i wouldn't mind reaping the rewards of some high draft picks.

Some might call that a defeatist mentality, i see it as the best way to move on from the failed core group we've had the past 5 years. Buildin for the future.

Move away from the core group, I can only support whole-heartedly.

But letting the same GM who drafted said core, and the coach who failed to develop what was arguably one of the more talented group of young players in franchise history be responsible for the next batch of talent?

###### HELL NO!!!

Agreed.

Fingers crossed that Terry will let both of em go at the end of the season.

I don't necessarily want to tank for years here, but i wouldn't mind bottoming out this year. It'd be a nice wake-up call for the new management group (i would hope). And it's been a while since we've had a top 5 pick.

Good luck guys. You have been nice to put up with some of my antics over time, but I seriously used to love the Buffalo Sabres. The people of the city are still great, and I wish everyone here the best. There are tons of good people on this board.

It's over. I don't mind going against a politico who is trying to line his pockets, but I can't wait out a $3 billion manchild who has nice intentions. He seems like a good guy and all, but if I want a tearjerker, I'll watch Dinner for Schmucks again.

For the sake of the city, I hope these a-holes go on a 40 game win streak and shove a hot poker up me.......but I have wasted so much time over the years just looking for an honest effort. That's all I asked.

I'm going to read the board, but there is nothing left to be said. I'm sorry for you guys who still live and die by them. I never meant to ruin your fun. Seriously.....if I knew it would end like this, I would have never said a blessed word. I am sorry. I am truly...truly sorry.

Ain't we all, Dwight. Ain't we all. But hey, if it makes you feel any better, there's no way someone gets to be a billionaire in the oil industry by being a nice guy. An ignorant fanboy, well, apparently. But he's probably off making some deal to frack some land and light some nice little town's water on fire so at least the whole thing ain;t completely upside-down, now is it? ;) See you later, alligator.

The Buffalo News article today is pretty disheartening. Sure, there are a lot of injuries...but if he can't see that the product that is healthy and on the ice isn't working.........

And I loved the bit in the article when he tries to use the injuries as an excuse for why guys don't know what line they are going to play on nightly....has he been living under a rock for the last 10 years? Healthy or not, Lindy can't keep a consistant line together for more than a game or two.

Wow. Worst PR disaster of all time. What the ###### was he thinking? If nothing will kill attendance that article will. So it's ok to not produce as long as you understand your not producing and you should produce? Worst season in recent memory, and I bought Gamecenter this season :(.

"What everybody is missing is that I've been carrying around 167 man games," he said by telephone Thursday evening. "Forget about the season. I'm talking about the last 25 games. We've had 18 players go down. It's like a merry-go-round every night. You look on the ice and what are your defensive pairs tonight? Hell, who knows? Who's healthy?

"I think what's important is the number of guys. You can have 167 man games with four, five, six guys out for a long period. Eighteen? Cut me a break. I told Darcy Regier one time, 'If I was you, I would be afraid to get on the plane.' "

"I don't want to single out Brad," Pegula said. "Look who he plays with every night. It changes a lot. He's another guy [who was injured]. ... I have to believe we're a better hockey team than we were last year. We just didn't have this massive, catastrophic injury problem. Put yourself in anybody's place in the organization. How do you evaluate what's going on?"

"They know that more than you do," Pegula said. "I hope you don't think Drew Stafford is happy with his goal production, or Derek Roy, or Ville Leino. They're pressing. They've played pretty well lately. If we get some consistency in the lineup for a period of time, I got to believe it will fall back together again."

"Trust me, I'm not trying to sugar-coat anything," Pegula said. "There's nobody in that locker room happy with the record right now and with the way the team is playing. They want to make it better. But it's hard to evaluate something that has been torn apart the way this thing has."

"My attitude now is, 'Let's put Humpty [Dumpty] back together again,' " Pegula said. "I want our players to know that I thought we had a pretty good hockey team until all this happened. Let's paste it back together and start a new season."

Four quotes is all it takes for you guys to fall off the wagon? Geez. Maybe you are better off not watching. Go shovel snow or something.

This.

Terry is a business man. You don't go ripping out the walls to kill a few termites. Get everyone healthy, let them at least have a chance to gel, then see where things go. If they still suck, unload LR/DR or some combo thereof.

I see his point of view ... but at the same time, I'm as frustrated as anyone. I didn't even invite our friends over for the game tonight, instead opting to paint baseboards and watch "Fringe" live so it will hopefully stay on the air (it could really use some strong ratings over these next 7 eps).

I'll check the score. I'll hope for a win.

If anyone here truly does just switch off then i agree, good riddance. I know I'll keep watching all I can but the main thing was that Terry came across as though he was whinging, 'look at my poor team'. Trying to get sympathy from annoyed Sabres fans is only going to make you unpopular (hence my PR disaster comment).

Also just saying these guys aren't happy is stating the blindingly obvious, the problem is this is the 3rd month they have had to turn it around and I see no sign of it happening.

Re-reading the article his right about one thing: Injuries have killed this team, even if Roy/Stafford/Leino, etc should have done more injuries really have taken their toll.

If Stafford isn't happy, maybe he should try reaching for pucks and backchecking?

Just a thought.

I'm sick of hearing how the "core" isn't happy with their play, yet never seem to try and compensate elsewhere in their game.

Terry is an ostrich and his players are Little Lord Fauntleroys. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.Just because TP believes something doesn't mean it's true. He's inexperienced and sentimental, not a good combo in this brutal game. Whether these players are hurt or not, they're mismatched, unmotivated and spoiled, with zero meaningful leadership in coaching or management. The same old thing has got to go.
