So when it comes to food poisoning, I don't even want to think about why that would be labeled as an upper body injury vs. a lower body injury.

I think it starts out as an "upper" body injury and then slowly makes it's way to be a "lower" body injury.

GO SABRES!!!

Don't believe everything u hear about some 7 year deal. Esp from sportsnet.

Hence why I've stayed out of this conversation. Everyone has worked themselves into a lather over something that hasn't even been confirmed.

Do you know of any site or database that keeps track of NHL contracts in a similar vein to MLB contracts like Cot's does for baseball?

You'll find plenty that document the player salaries. Cap geek is mentioned all the time and is the most popular one to link. What you don't find on those sites (and I'm assuming it's the same with your baseball site) is the salaries of coaches/management. There really is very little point in teams disclosing that information because it has no impact on the salary cap.

At least one person got what I was hinting at.

Many thanks!

Well it beats the 4 million posts saying we should fire Ruff. This may spir some discussion about another fix.

Wow.. Wow.. Wow.... Are we seriously blaming Darcy for all of this?

Yes, we are blaming Darcy for all of this.....mainly because he's responsible for every single player on this roster.

We would be complaining even more if we never made trades for Regehr, Ehrhoff and Leino....

And we would be complaining even less if we weren't a bottom 10 team in the league right now....

At least they're trying...

Teams should seriously start hanging banners in honor of seasons where they totally tried.

Plus, Darcy says every year that he isn't looking to make a trade and then he always ends up making one at the deadline.

Which has worked out awesome based on all the playoff wins lately.

That's another thing: trades almost always happen at the deadline, not in the middle of January

Darcy thinks he's Santa Claus because he only works one day a year.

Put your heads on people. We still got 3 months left and our team is still somewhat injured.

Every single team in the NHL is somewhat injured.

Things will be looking good pretty soon

No doubt. We're only one coach, one GM, and about a dozen players away from being a contender again.

Ruff- "Kaleta can't hit anymore." "He's a marked man". "Worried about him, can't play his game". Interesting I guess. I'd like to here him comment a bit more in regards to our scoring (or total lack there of).

Then he shouldn't be in the line up taking a regular shift.

Lindy confirmed today it is NOT for 6 or 7 years.

It's long been said that he got three year deal with a 4th year option.

Unbunch the panties people.

This was the deal he got when Pegula took over, correct?

That Toronto broadcast always tends to be... interesting

No kidding. I mean to run that during the broadcast you would think they would have some pretty reliable sources feeding them this garbage.

Maybe it was just a Harry Neale-esque estimation of the contract length. Y'know "that shot was from 35ft out" type of thing...

No, they actually put up a graphic which read he had signed a 7 year contract at the beginning of the season. Neale is just getting old, this was planned out.

The Buff News says they have 2 sources saying 6 years and Paul Hamilton says it wouldn't surprise him if it was 7.

Lindy can very easily have an open-ended option on his part which goes 7 years, but the actual contract is only 3 in lawyer speak.

Is something Paul Hamilton wouldn't be surprised by the new standard in reporting now? I can't help but laugh at that line.

Well Greg Millen said 7, the News has 2 sources at 6........Lindy might not be lying, but what if he has a 3 year deal at a set rate, and his option going forward? If he was to win the Cup in 3 years....he gets a bigger deal....if he doesn't, he has 7 year security.

A good agent having a star-eyed owner over a barstool can probably get that deal done.

Does anyone else remember last year in Ottawa when a few of our players got food poisoning from bad steak before the game, and a few games later minny's equipment truck went up in flames outside the practice rink? And now Vanek and another player get food poisoning. Maybe Im stretching it a bit, but do you'd think waiters or waitresses in Canada would recognize hockey players...

The option route (team's option or Lindy's) does seem realistic, I just couldn't help laughing that "Paul Hamilton thinks" is now the standard approach to dealing with rumors. I suppose it's a step ahead of "Eklund thinks", but if that's the standard, the bar's pretty low.

There is no other option than for TPegs to hire a staff of royal tasters to protect his club. I'm available.
