Yep they said it....that's the worst news of the night if correct. Lindy will get a gold watch for 25 years as coach with no cups.

how can this be true? HOW?!?!? oh my god. looks like leinos contract wasn't the worst signing of the year.

kill me now.

go sabres

and to think Leino scored a big goal in Game 6 against us. Originally I was excited about his signing. Just our luck, a guy does well against us then sucks when he arrives.

Did you just say "Word!"???

I think he's throwing back to a poster from over the summer who's only responses were "word" and "bro".

I'm also glad that ink saying word is the part of this thread that offends you :P

this actually explains the lack of production on the ice. if you heard that ruff was going to be your coach for the next 7 years, wouldn't you do everything in your power to get traded.

Agreed! If that was the bruins, there would be an all out melee....why is McCormick even on the ice?

This team played with absolutely no heart tonight. They've played terrible lately, but I haven't seen the go through the motions like they did tonight. I still cannot figure out why Gerbe is still on the 4th line.

Just a few things I wanted to say about the game:

-Stafford played a good game with good effort, and failed to hit the back of the net. Again.

-Gerbe is still my hero.

-Gragnani played a miniscule 9 minutes and three seconds. I looked up his TOI after the game because I barely even saw him out there.

-With Vanek out, Pominville was by far the best forward for the Sabres.

-McNabb got himself out of position on that second goal. He came across the ice in front of Myers and whiffed on the check, leaving the entire right side of the zone open.

-Miller can give up as many softies as he wants, because this team isn't winning games even if he's playing like Miller Classic.

I hate the god damned Leaves and I hate being shut out. That game was difficult to watch.

I did not get the reference, if that is in fact what he was going for.

Hard to say if that's the only thing that offended me. I only read the last two pages.

Vanek is injured. There goes the season.

Got news for you, the season is already gone. It's over. All I hope is that they tank, get the first pick, fire the coach and gm, and play well when they come to Vancouver when me and my boy make the trip to the Coast.

I'm just to the point now where I don't even know what to do as a fan...I still watch, because I paid for the Center Ice package. If I spent the money, I am going to get my full amount of anger and heartache that is allotted to me.

But it is becoming way more difficult than I had imagined to stay interested.

I didn't realize Derek Roy was posting on the board at one point.

He's not, he's on our third line. Except that our third line is just Line 4A. :wallbash: :wallbash:

Do we even have set lines at this point in the season?

I thought that 26-29-72 were a line at one point that was doing very well. Thought we were winning games back then

Maybe that was my imagination.

Yep. It's hard to muster up the patience to watch these games. I mean, if you're gonna lose, at least be entertaining. At least DO something.

Im over this crap! Ill pay for center ice because i have to but im not putting myself through heartache anymore. My wife thinks im going wacko and my son looks at me like im going nuts so you can take this crap of a team and shove it. Nobody gets fire? Terry P doesnt talk? Ruff isnt going anywhere? This team is a joke and Terry P is the biggest sabre fan alive

You obviously don't understand hockey :wallbash:

Stafford had a couple of nice chances, but still only played in one end of the zone and didn't take the body when he had a chance to keep pucks in.

McNabb took out a guy on the second goal because he thought Kaleta (I think that is who it was) had the cutter covered. Kaleta stopped moving his feet and the cutter got a head of Kaleta and was wide open for the pass off from the guy McNabb took out. Kaleta needs to keep skating to the goal and let the D step up. The opposition needs to know that they are going pay a price for entering the zone at speed. But to do this the forwards have to play the length of the ice just like the D. This I repeat was not McNabb's fault. Watch the play. :censored: Or do you subscribe the Stafford way of playing, keep backing and don't make any contact, old men's league hockey.. :w00t:

It is the Sabres inability to execute the basics on defense that is the biggest indictment of the coaching staff. Kaletas responsibilities in that situation are simple , it is hockey 101. Generally speaking he is not one of the biggest offenders.

Thank you, thank you, thank you,..........keep commenting it may save this board and a discussion about hockey may actually break out.

Lindy's idea of coaching is to bench Regehr for the 2nd half of the 3rd period and to see that Leino gets the most ice time among forwards. The players are not responding to anything he's doing. If it was a few players that were not playing to their potential, you could say it's on the players, but when it's basically the whole team, it has to be the coaching.

Welcome to the board. I really like your contributions so far and I have noticed a swing in your perception as you have gone from post 1 through 7.

Anyway ...

In regards to the 7 year contract for Ruff. Since , I do not know who said it (have not had time to read the whole thread) I do not completely buy it yet. Even if it is true I believe it is a retirement / pension plan with heartfelt thanks from Uncle Terry. Hopefully, DR has a similar plan.

I don't even think there's a close second.... that is fantastic!

It's funny, when I went to change it last night, I was just looking through the photos I had of my son in his Miller jersey....I had completely forgot about the infamous, "First time on the Time-Out Bench" photo. It was too perfect.
