Jeanbe Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Yep they said it....that's the worst news of the night if correct. Lindy will get a gold watch for 25 years as coach with no cups. Well Terry will learn that he can't be a fan boy of the past (aka Darcy & Lindy) and he can afford to eat that contract once Lindy is fired.
sabres1970 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 So stomach flu equals an upper body injury? Interesting...
Iron Crotch Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 So stomach flu equals an upper body injury? Interesting... Could be upper or could be lower... sometimes is both... kind of depends. ;)
sabres1970 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Ruff doesn't sound the least bit frustrated in his presser. What a joke this team is now.
LGR4GM Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Lindy Ruff got a 7 year contract extension... really? This is an early april fools joke right? I mean 7 years? Does. Not. Compute. Well if that's true I have officially gone into panic mode, red alert, Scotty to bridge captain the toilets are backing up into the warp drive and I can not do a thing about it!
K-9 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Sounds like Toronto restaurants are poisoning our players' food. Somebody needs to find out where Phaneuf is going to eat on Friday and sprinkle some botulism on his lunch. GO SABRES!!!
sabres1970 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Ruff- "Kaleta can't hit anymore." "He's a marked man". "Worried about him, can't play his game". Interesting I guess. I'd like to here him comment a bit more in regards to our scoring (or total lack there of).
Derrico Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Well Terry will learn that he can't be a fan boy of the past (aka Darcy & Lindy) and he can afford to eat that contract once Lindy is fired. I've heard alot of poster say that Terry has to stop being a fan and make a change. My view is everyone on here are fans and we all want to see a change so I don't buy that analogy. By him not making a knee jerk decision (I know were half way through the year and I want change too) probably show's he's acting like more of an owner of a professional franchise.
Samson's Flow Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 TSN (Canada sportscentre) just mentioned that Vanek was out with an illness, so he probably isn't out too long. It's so nice to be able to watch sportscentre and see hockey. Wish ESPN would take note...

I'd like to here him comment a bit more in regards to our scoring (or total lack there of). Did he answer the questions asked or is he supposed to just offer up conversation to the reporters on his own accord? I'm interested in what Lindy has to say about a lot of things, too, but if we're not there to ask the questions we have to rely on the reporters present in the room. Besides, I don't think Hamilton is going to ask him any tough questions. Were any other reporters at the PC after the game? Did he evade questions? GO SABRES!!!
Who Else? Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 TSN (Canada sportscentre) just mentioned that Vanek was out with an illness, so he probably isn't out too long. It's so nice to be able to watch sportscentre and see hockey. Wish ESPN would take note... Phaneuf gave him the flu? Man that guy is mean. Sabres need a captain like that.

themaze2332 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 I live in MD and my feed was a loop of a one second elapsed time from a NJD and a Canadiens game. Tried watching the NHL network for a glimpse of the action since they have floating highlights. Finally found an online link with 7 minutes left in game. Still watching highlights on NHL Network (a combined approximate of 2.5 hours). Still have not seen a sniff of "highlight" coverage from the Sabres-Leafs game. Wow. That says a lot about ANYONE wanting to cover our team, let alone MSG!
sarspants Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 I think the biggest problem started with the Lucic hit. There is no toughness and no one willing to stand up for each other. Three times tonight it was more than obvious that a player (Stafford, Miller, and one other) was afraid of getting hit and was unable to clear the zone or gain possession. Wouldn't be an issue if other teams knew that they would get pounded to the ice for touching a player.
Captainkirk001 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Why in the hell was everybody standing around when Gerbe was getting roughed up in front of the bench!! Gerbe was the only one that had any balls tonight and when he got into that fight along the boards, McCormick and Stafford were sitting there watching!!! My god this team frustrates me so much, jump in and help him out, there was only a minute left who really gives a damn if you get a penalty!!!! Agreed! If that was the bruins, there would be an all out melee....why is McCormick even on the ice?
thesportsbuff Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Agreed! If that was the bruins, there would be an all out melee....why is McCormick even on the ice? Why is McCormick even in the ###### lineup

K-9 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Why is McCormick even in the ###### lineup He hasn't looked the same since coming back from his concussion, either. GO SABRES!!!
SportsFan88 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Ruff doesn't sound the least bit frustrated in his presser. What a joke this team is now. Why be frustrated getting a boat load of money and having all the job security you could ask for?
PromoTheRobot Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Sort of off-topic but did anyone see the penalty shot in the Bruins game? What was amazing was the transgression that earned the Bruins that penalty shot. Shawn Thornton had his stick slapped and he lost the puck on a breakaway. He wasn't taken down. I've never seen a PS awarded for something that was barely a penalty, if it even was. PTR
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Sounds like Toronto restaurants are poisoning our players' food. Somebody needs to find out where Phaneuf is going to eat on Friday and sprinkle some botulism on his lunch. GO SABRES!!! That's the excuse of the year......Lindy insinuating Toronto poisioned his players!!!! This news leaves me absolutely dumbfounded. Its obvious to me now that you don't need an I.Q. higher than 79 to make a few billion dollars in the oil and gas business. Pegula gave Lindy a 7 year deal. Since when do coaches get 7 year deals ever? Even coaches that have just won the cup don't get 7 year deals, or in coach speak, a lifetime job. Mr Black, slap your boss. If Lindy really got a 7 year contract.....I have one thing to say..........it is the tribulation out of Revelation. Has Lindy recovered from a head wound that anyone knows of? My favorite points of the night.....in the 3rd when Myers got a decent shot on goal and Hecht was forced to play back....Hecht looked like a Mite trying to skate backward the whole way. Gragnani early in the game on an icing.......reached out from 4 feet away like he was disarming a bomb. Holy cow..... If i had any expectations from these guys...I'd shoot myself. At least Gerbe keeps bringing it.

Sabres have 4th-worst record in the league since the Lucic incident. 8-13-5. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/2012/01/little-surprise-here-since-nov-12-the-sabres-are-the-fourth-worst-team-in-nhl.html If Lindy really got a 7 year contract.....I have one thing to say..........it is the tribulation out of Revelation. Has Lindy recovered from a head wound that anyone knows of? If Lindy really got a 7-year deal I am done defending anyone in management. That would be the dumbest move ever. One with think, that with all the hockey people T-Pegs supposedly talked to, and having Black et al at his disposal, SOMEONE would have said "7 years? Hey, Terry, let's pump the brakes on this one for a second."
Koomkie Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Because apparently any time you go a game or two without scoring a goal you are put on a line with McCormick and Ellis-- and if you don't produce in THAT role, you're sent down to the AHL. this.
