Bad news, Ottawa and Winnipeg both lost tonight.

Ottawa winning and Winnipeg losing late ... did I step on a punch line?

Why in the hell was everybody standing around when Gerbe was getting roughed up in front of the bench!! Gerbe was the only one that had any balls tonight and when he got into that fight along the boards, McCormick and Stafford were sitting there watching!!! My god this team frustrates me so much, jump in and help him out, there was only a minute left who really gives a damn if you get a penalty!!!!

If we played a drinking Sabres drinking game in which a person had to drink (whatever his/her drink of choicew was) for hearing RJ say: "he shot it wide," "it didn't make it through," "it went off of a skate," "he shot is high," "they can't clear the zone," "the shot beat Miller on the high, glove side," OR we heard a post-game press conference hearing the phrases: "we need to be better," "we need to finish," "we need to re-focus," "we need to capitalize on our opportunities," "we need to play our system," "we have a lot of injuries"...

Well then, we would all need liver transplants after a half of a season!

:(

Don't forget Enroth get beat 5 hole...

For the love of God fire somebody fer Christe sakes. Do you hear me Mr Pegula? Do you hear me Mr. Black? This team and organization has become the laughing stock of this league. Nobody has the ballz to do anything to improve this sorry bunch of losers. From the top down. Please show me that someone has a pulse and actually cares to see this team improve. Anybody?

I'm done until Lindy and Darcy are gone, or some serious changes in the lineup are made. This team sucks and they look like they are OK with that. Nothing more can be said that hasn't already been said, I need a break for my own sanity.

Yeah, I keep pushing for Darcy to get fired because then it is up to the new GM to figure out who to fire, trade, etc. We already know Darcy will never fire Lindy and Darcy cannot execute a trade that betters the team. So expecting anything to change while Darcy is here is folly.

Nah, I goofed. I knew they were up 4-0 and Ottawa and Pittsburgh were playing eachother tonight. I knew they were close to eachother in the Standings, I thought Pittsburgh was ahead of Ottawa. My bad.

Time Warner's strategy team is looking like a think tank about now ... "I don't think we wanna pay MSG that much for this product ... the ratings aren't sustainable."

The only problem with this theory is that down here in Manhattan, we can't see the Rangers on Time Warner when for once they aren't the most boring team in the league.

Couldn't have said it better. It's as if this summer never existed or even last February. It's dumbfounding, really.

I cannot even describe my disgust with this team right now. I thought things were going to be different. But somehow we're worse off than we were at this time last year.

I was weary about this. People thought one man would come in and everything would change and stars would be signing here left and right, I really don't see much difference between this and the past.

Did they just say Ruff has a 7 year contract?? I don't think I knew that, did anyone else?

Yep they said it....that's the worst news of the night if correct. Lindy will get a gold watch for 25 years as coach with no cups.

Fixed...

True, because the actually added a talented #1 center. Philli beat Carolina, Mtrl losing to Stl. too bad. Sabres need to have those teams gain on them so they can drop further in the standings. Common Ruff, keep sending Stafford out there at critical times.

That CANNOT be correct. Someone, ANYONE, please for the LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, tell this is incorrect.....please?

But it all starts at the top! Why can't one man come in and change everything! He can fire anyone he wants just like he can hire anyone he wants! He can't necessarily control the players themselves but he can fix the front office and coaching staff. Im sorry, but you're wrong. One man can change everything, he just isn't.

Darcy's contract must be the same. :w00t:

Now now man aren't we jumping a bit ahead of ourselves and being a tad bit harsh here? :flirt:

Don't worry, be happy. Lindy feels absolutely no pressure. Why should he. What a sad pathetic organization this has become from the top down. No pressure to perform. No consequences for lack of performance. WTF

No kidding. It's not like Ruff is the Vince Lombardi of hockey. Time to move on to another system. Not to mention trade a couple of players too.

This news leaves me absolutely dumbfounded. Its obvious to me now that you don't need an I.Q. higher than 79 to make a few billion dollars in the oil and gas business. Pegula gave Lindy a 7 year deal. Since when do coaches get 7 year deals ever? Even coaches that have just won the cup don't get 7 year deals, or in coach speak, a lifetime job. Mr Black, slap your boss.

I will grant you he could fire Lindy and Darcy but aside from that changing things like the perception around the league, the efforts and results on the ice he can't entirely control. That is up to the guys taking the ice on a nightly basis. Perhaps we are seeing the problem of an owner who is a big fan. It could be worse though, he could be like Jerry Jones. You see two polar opposites, I wonder where the fine line is for an owner who is also a big fan is.

From the Fourth Period via twitter:

"For all those asking... there are 0 scouts from Anaheim at the Sabres/Leafs game in Toronto. Only 3 scouts in attendance (EDM, PHI, STL)"

Translation: don't expect a trade any time soon.

Shoot, no top coach in the four major sports leagues has a 7 year contract, now in college a 7 year contract isn't all that uncommon.
