Derrico Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 ###### them. Seriously ###### them, that extra point is so huge, the way the leafs are playing we should beat them twice but Pitt is gonna be pissed and ready to go tomorrow, we need it.
tiredsounds Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 gotta have faith ladies and gents. the way the sabres are playing right now they could beat anyone in the league, you certainly can't say that about the caps. they'll get there. hockey wouldn't be fun if it was easy.
TrueBlueGED Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 At least the Leafs are terrible, that was enjoyable tonight!
Guest Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 At least the Leafs are terrible, that was enjoyable tonight! Hopefully they are just as terrible their next 2 games.
Punch Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 I'm pretty uncomfortable with the idea that the Pens can lose 4 in a row. But is it really any crazier than seeing them lose to the Isles twice in 3 nights to identical 5-3 scores? No Kris Letang, Fleury banged up and could sit in the 2nd game of a back to back. It's unlikely Pittsburgh can catch up to the Rags now. With 2 days of rest and what should be a hot crowd I like our chances tomorrow night. They've answered the bell lately, no reason to think they won't come out swinging on Friday. In fact, I think they'll be more determined with the Caps win. Sabres 4-2.
grinreaper Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 I didn't get to watch the game until OT but look at it this way---we beat the Caps 5-1, the Caps beat the Bruins 3-2. Bring on the Bruins in the playoffs!
tiredsounds Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Hopefully they are just as terrible their next 2 games. right now, a leafs home game must feel about as welcoming to toronto as an away game at the bell center. the crowd booed them off the ice again tonight.
CallawaySabres Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Never thought I could hate Boston more than I already do!
Jsixspd Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Never thought I could hate Boston more than I already do! I felt the same way about Philly when the Caps won against them recently - LOL And yeah, I hate Boston - both the Bruins AND the Patriots. Completely awesome the way the Giants derailed the Brady Bandwagon at the Super Bowl. Again.

Bmwolf21 Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Thanks for nothin', Bruins. That's pretty much word-for-word what I said when I saw the scoreboard ticker on NHL Network. With a couple obscenities thrown in.
PromoTheRobot Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 The Bruins are coasting, as are the Pens. Don't read too much into their recent performances. But it's obvious no one is going to help the Sabres out. Gonna have to go 10-0. PTR
Taro T Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Never thought I could hate Boston more than I already do! If the Sabres do their job this game tonight doesn't matter. It's as simple as that. It'd be nice to see them be able to back in and give Ryan a rest, but if it doesn't happen they DO control their destiny. I'd rather be where we are than the Caps fans are today.

But it's obvious no one is going to help the Sabres out. Gonna have to go 10-0. PTR The Bruins have a losing record in their last 40+ games overall. I agree they are much better than they've looked, but at that large of a sample size, coasting may be putting it a bit lightly. Love your optimism, and I sure hope you're right. Looking at the standings now, the Flyers have closed the gap on Pittsburgh to 2 points, and Philly holds the tiebreaker. I wonder how badly the Pens would like to right the ship and maintain the home ice advantage in the 1st round. Tomorrow is now a must win. If they can't win then they ultimately don't deserve the 8th spot, although arguably neither do the Caps.

But it's obvious no one is going to help the Sabres out. Gonna have to go 10-0. PTR If Fleury is out, are the Pens really coasting? And they don't have to go 10-0; 9-0-1 works just the same. (And I have faith the Caps will screw A game up (minimum) so 8-1-1 should be, as the old Blue commercial says, 'crose enuf.') And because they started the final 10 games 5-0-0, it's now 4-0-1 that is the current keeper.
SabreFX Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Thomas looked comical on that first Caps' goal in the shootout. He flopped onto his back like a 300 pound dude kneeling and on the tips of his toes. Would have been funnier if it wasn't a game that mattered to the Sabres. Oh well, as the saying/cliche goes: don't count on your enemies to do you any favors. On the subject of comical, I saw replays of the Flyers/Leafs game. The Leafs hung their rookie backup goalie (NHL debut if I'm not mistaken) out to dry with their so-called defense after Gustavsson got hurt in warm-ups. I feel for the kid, really. No matter how I feel about the Leafs as a Sabres fan, I never want to see some young, nervous player getting his chance to live the dream marred like that by a horrible performance. I only saw replays, but it looked like on every single Flyers goal, the D just watched it happen.

And I seem to recall Patrick Roy getting shellacked in his first game too.
zow2 Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 At minimum, Buffalo has to make every game a 3 point game. Obviously they'd love to win in regulation every night but that's not realistic. They just cannot be shut out of points in any game. I remember last season when the bottom feeders were knocking off the "desperate" teams late in the year. You think Wash is a lock over Montreal on Sat night and Buf over Toronto. It's not. I'm also worried about this Pittsburgh game tonight but i feel a little better than the Pens are on the 2nd night of a back to back.
