deluca67 Posted March 24, 2012 Author Report Posted March 24, 2012 Big night tonight. Winnipeg at Nashville - Keep an eye on Winnipeg, they are close enough to sneak in and are a +2 on the Sabres in ROWs. Pittsburgh at Ottawa - The Pens may be the best team in hockey, at that's without Crosby. With Crosby it seems almost unfair. A Sens loss gives the Sabres a chance to tie the, in pints. Rangers at Toronto - The game is important because the Rangers can be knocked out of the #1 seed by the Pens. If the Pens are the #1 seed then being the 8th seed may be worse than missing the playoffs.

If it comes down to missing the playoffs or playiing the Pens, then bring on the Pens!

Playing the Pens in the 1st round will be like being invited to a party by the hottest girl in school, showing up and getting your arce kicked and sent home in the first 5 minutes. Sure, you were at the party, but was it worth the shower and hair gel?
wjag Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 Top three most devastating losses last night: 1. Ottawa in Montreal -- The Sens fans should have their belts and shoelaces removed. They have to be on suicide watch today. 2. Carolina in Columbus -- Slim playoff hopes were dashed last night by RJ Umberger. 3. Washington vs Winnipeg -- Is it conceivable to have a 3 goal lead, and then not register a shot in the third period until 4 minutes left? Apparently so. Washington fans have to be wondering if they will win again after that meltdown. Honorable mention: Florida vs Oilers -- Is there a team more nervous about first or bust then the Panthers?

Florida should feel pretty safe, 4 point lead with a game in hand and the Caps only have 7 games left. The Panthers have four winnable games coming up against the Islanders, Habs, Wild and Bluejackets. They are in a position to make the April 5th game in Washington meaningless no mater what the Caps do.

Randall Flagg Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 How do you feel about a first round vs the Bruins? (If Ottawa trips up and you get 7th) I would much rather have florida pass Boston, obviously, but at this point any playoff matchup is good for me.
wjag Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 How do you feel about a first round vs the Bruins? (If Ottawa trips up and you get 7th) I want in.. I don't care who they play
carpandean Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 I want in.. I don't care who they play Yupper.
sabre snipe Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 winnpeg 0, Nashville 2. 2 minutes left in the 2nd Ottawa 5, Pittsburgh 3. Come on Pitt really!?
wjag Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 winnpeg 0, Nashville 2. 2 minutes left in the 2nd Ottawa 5, Pittsburgh 3. Come on Pitt really!? Just an enormous game for Ottawa.. They are stealing two points from the Sabres tonight...
TheChimp Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 It's too much to worry about Ottawa. They can always have a three game slump again and we could catch them, but it's really just Washington that we wanna worry about, and now that we caught them, it's all in the Sabres' control, if they want it bad enough...

Maybe. But it's still possible for Florida to pass Boston for 2, in which case I think getting to the 7th seed gives us the best chance to get out of the first round.
Claude_Verret Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 Kings PP down 3-2 late in 3rd. I really hate Boston. Jack Edwards too.

Although, potentially losing to Florida in the first round would be one of the worst feelings ever, considering the climb from 15th place that we've made.

A much worse feeling would be missing the playoffs and looking up and seeing Florida win a 3rd seed with fewer points than we had....
Taro T Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 A much worse feeling would be missing the playoffs and looking up and seeing Florida win a 3rd seed with fewer points than we had.... So are you predicting the Loafs or the Isles are going to pass the Sabres in that scenario. That's the only way it could happen.
TheChimp Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012  So are you predicting the Loafs or the Isles are going to pass the Sabres in that scenario. That's the only way it could happen. Oh. No. Thanks! Whew!! :)
carpandean Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 3-0 Caps with 11 minutes left. Looks like we'll be tied again going into Tuesday's game.
wjag Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 Florida late into OT. They have at least one point today...
Jsixspd Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 3-0 Caps with 11 minutes left. Looks like we'll be tied again going into Tuesday's game. apparently they didn't even need the officials' help for the win. There was a ridiculous "delay of game" penalty called against the Wild in the 2nd period which resulted in the Caps second goal. And it was just disgusting listening to the Versus/NBC lovefest with Ovechkin. Gaaah!!!
Zamboni Driver Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 The game on Tuesday is looming pretty big now! Let's hope the Caps flaky goaltending takes the night off (again :P ) Miller needs a shutout..... How is your record vs the Caps?
