beerme1
Any team that gets beat by Johnny Oduya deserves to miss the playoffs. Period. At first I thought it was Kane that scored and I could accept that. He's a player. When I heard Oduya's name, any hope I had for this season just got flushed down the toilet with all those gin and tonics I had tonight. At the game I said to the wife good god Oduya has never made a shot like that in his career. Why tonight?
nucci
I just watched it five times. Not only was it a quick whistle, but he never even tried to move toward the net to try and find it. I think he only blew the whislte because everyone kinda stopped and he assumed it was covered. That's lazy. Again, who cares? It shouldn't have mattered. A potential winning goal late in a tie game doesn't matter? So. Who do we lose to next ? Next team we play.
North Buffalo
Enroth and Paul Hamilton each said it was absolutely the right call. I guess they are "stubborn, and or dense" as well. If it happened to Enroth and the goal counted you would be going bat-###### over the call because the Ref didn't blow the whistle. Listen to what Hamilton said, because of the Refs angle. My point exactly, yes the Ref has to blow the whistle when he doesn't see it, but he didn't see because he was out of position, which neither addressed. (Nice bait and switch though :P ) Just because you repeat a point doesn't mean it is correct even when you can convince the masses of the fact a la the Republicans.
Redemption City
Still can't believe we put 8 goals on them last year, with a lineup that included Butler, Mancari, Niedermayer, and Connolly. Or that we were top 5 in shots per game.
87168
What do you mean, no "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEAL" prospects???? This is such a stupid response to the call for firings it is mind-numbing. There are possible replacements all over the damned place. CHL, AHL, ECHL, WHL, KHL, Midgets, who the hell cares???? But that said, what's the 87168, it isn't your zip code, is it? No 87168, I got that because I am a musician. Went to performing arts high school when it was on Clinton St. Now I'm back in College getting my degree in music comp. Anyway 88 keys on the piano and Buffalo's area code. So 87168. My zip code is 14211. If you would have actually looked below my avatar you would have seen that. East Buffalo off of Walden Ave. The fact that I needed to point that out is mind numbing. And what I meant by no real prospects was the fact that the organization would have not even began the interview process of replacing the coach. We all know that there are competent coaches out there, however the organization would not have had time to select the best candidate. But you know since it was such a "stupid" response. Sabres Fan in NS
Well I woke up this morning and saw another loss for the Sabres in OT ... On the bright side my fears of waking up with them below .500 were not realized ... at least for one more day. I still have hope, but my goal is to be without hope and then start over. North Buffalo
It's statements like this that makes me wish franchises had the ability to completely cut "fans" off. These people are fickle. Crazy fickle!! Overstating the case, and you sound like a Republican, the debate is not going your way so you want to reverse the first amendment. The old saying goes if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. Not that I disagree with your analysis or his overstatement, but seriously this is all in fun. It is a game and a debate about it which folks get passionate about. If they didn't care, they wouldn't be fickle as you say. They and I just wouldn't post. What is most infuriating to Buffalo fans is a lack of effort. At least the Bills this year put in the effort despite their limitations. The Sabres on the other hand except the Defense and a few others don't seem to be doing much imo. Really, enjoy the debate. I like wastiing my time debating. Heck, I did for a living on Capitol Hill for 15 years so you won't get me to lay down for anyone, even when I am wrong. :nana:

LGR4GM
Finished watching the 3rd and OT at Brennen's and I have to say I felt the air go out of the room after the no goal and the OT goal but it didn't last long. People are starting to view the sabres the way they view the bills, with less and less emotional attachment. Myers looked good from what I saw and Enroth was good as well. Our forwards look lost and out of place all the time its embarrassing and we almost never have sustained o-zone pressure. Not to worry though I am sure Darcy is working very hard to fix this situation by trading away a core guy for a better player...

(Sing to the shout song for proper effect) GDT sometimes wind upwards of 20 pages depending on the team we are playing, outcome of the game, state of the sabres, whether its the playoffs or not. SwampD
Some random thoughts on the game- -Myers looks good. -Pominville is just a solid player. He might not light the world on fire, but boy, he just always does the right thing. -Evander Kane has some mad quicks. -I hate where our forwards play in our zone and have for years. It's a part of Lindy's system that sucks and has sucked for years. They play so deep that they just end up chasing their GD tails all game. It's beyond frustrating. -Every single player on this team (except for maybe Gerbe) plays with ZERO confidence. I don't know if it is Lindy's fault or what, if he beats them down once they get too uppity or not, but it is awful to watch. Nobody wants to take a shot and they question every pass they make. -I'll say it again because it needs to be said, any team that gets beat by Johnny Oduya deserves to miss the playoffs. Period. That's all I got.

You may be onto something. Oduya had 4 previous game winners in his career, all in 2008-09. The four teams he beat were Toronto (missed), Ottawa (missed), Florida (missed), and Montreal (made it in 8th on the tie-breaker over Florida, then were swept by the Bruins in the first round.) thesportsbuff
There were a LOT of Jets fans at the game last night. Felt like a Toronto game... minus the crowd intensity. Those are the same people who failed to notice: Myers brain hemorage on the outlet pass that led to the OT goal and the fact he was at the blue line when they scored or realize that part of Pom's success is because he plays with a guy everybody keys on.or, that it is a bad thing to play behind your own goaltender in the crease or that Weber coughed up the puck six times in that game or that Vanek created seven scoring chances in that game or that Enroth held them in the game or that trading Miller may not a brilliant idea or or or or .
