deluca67
So you want him to issue a statement after every game. His comment regarding the dismal performance by both 30 and 1 shows he obviously acknowledges this team's obstacles. Because you know so much about being the owner of a professional sports team right? He just stepped in an owner and probably would like to see how the members of the organization actually perform their duties before making decisions that are going to be life impacting such as termination. Give it a rest. He's a fan that should have had 14 years of data needed to make the right decisions. I may be a bit more unfeeling about people who have made millions not winning a Stanley Cup, that's just me. Pegula said it himself that owners have a responsibility to the fans. He didn't live up to that responsibility when he retained Regier and Ruff. It was his call and he made the wrong call. He needs to correct that mistake before it's way too late. 87168
Given the whole Penn State turmoil, I think it's warranted. Lip service?!?! From where? Where have you heard Lip service before. Definitely wasn't Ralph, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't Galisano.
deluca67
These guys are average, crazy average! Maybe Pegula misspoke and he meant to say "This TEAM ain't going nowhere." Pegula is the ultimate fantasy owner and right now he couldn't beat Tom Webster

As I stated earlier, he probably wanted to see exactly what he had to work with. He was a fan, just like we are fans. We have no real insight into the organization besides what we see on the ice and what is discussed with the media. If you were handed ownership of a professional franchise you mean to tell me that you would come in firing people, with no REAL prospects in sight as replacements?!? That was be extremely sloppy and ill-planned

There are also plenty of qualified candidates to take over as GM out there.

Crazy fickle!! (my turn) Fickle?! Really?! I know 14 years is nothing in terms of continental drift, but wanting to change a GM or coach after 14 years in the NHL is anything but fickle. Crazy fickle!! Nothing "fickle" about holding this franchise to a high standard. Owners may change but the standard of success doesn't. Pegula should not be held to any different standard than Golisano and Wilson.

I know 14 years is nothing in terms of continental drift, but wanting to change a GM or coach after 14 years in the NHL is anything but fickle. Yes fickle. When you're basically calling a brand new owner useless 4 months into his first full season of ownership is fickle. Nothing "fickle" about holding this franchise to a high standard. Owners may change but the standard of success doesn't. Pegula should not be held to any different standard than Golisano and Wilson. Actually as a new and first time owner he should. Are rookie players held to the same standard as veterans? No.

itbeatswalking
Last year at this time, we were in the exact position. That was frustrating yet acceptable bc golisono was head honcho who didn't even care. Now, we get an owner who puts out a misleading statement about the cup. Then, he has the knowledge of 14 yrs of this BS and yet that isn't enough to convince him that what's here isn't winning a cup, or making the playoffs. We have every right to take shots at him bc we aren't winning, IT'S TIME TO WIN A CUP, IT'S BEEN LONG ENOUGH! I don't wanna hear how "oh he didn't say that they were gonna win it this season.yada yada". I understand that, but then keeps the 2 bums that have got us nowhere, he is just a fan with too much power. Mr pegula, I appreciate your intentions, but they mean nothing if you make the wrong choices.
Bullwinkle
They played good enough to get the W, too bad the refs totally ripped them off. Another good effort by Enroth wasted because the lack of scoring. This is loser talk. No, they didn't play well enough to get the W. Good teams beat Wpg by more than one goal. The fact is that we are equal to them so it could have gone either way. Blaming the refs doesn't change the fact that the Sabres are a poor to mediocre team. There are possible replacements all over the damned place. CHL, AHL, ECHL, WHL, KHL, Midgets, who the hell cares???? But that said, what's the 87168, it isn't your zip code, is it? darksabre
I just want to note, independent of the game itself, Stu Barnes was there tonight and the crowd was as loud as ever for him. It was good to see him and give him a little "Stuuuuuu". This team misses guys like him.
