sillyeddie Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Miller has played really well. Our offense was and is lacking as usual Yeah, it usually does when we have to work hard for goals.
deluca67 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Miller has played really well. Our offense was and is lacking as usual 3 goals on 22 shots?
87168 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Boy this team sucks. I had such high hopes at the start of the year.... I'm confident that something major will take place before we sink much further in the ranking. When it's all said and done Pegula is still a business man and I'm confident that he has the knowledge of how to be successful in his business ventures.
Iron Crotch Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Miller has played really well. Our offense was and is lacking as usual Yeah, I'm usually one to give players the benefit of the doubt, but we just can't keep putting out "scoring line" wingers who have 6 goals in 35 games. I see no reason why Drew shouldn't be the one who sits when Ennis is healthy.
dEnnis the Menace Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 well. that was almost a waste of 2 hours. glad I had some beer. g'night all
87168 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 3 goals on 22 shots? Did you see that saves he was making? With the exception of the first goal I think he played pretty well. I dont understand why everyone feels so compelled to be negative at every turn.

I dont understand why everyone feels so compelled to be negative at every turn. We were all sold on the fact that there would be an improvement not a regression.
... Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 is it just me, or is there absolutely little to no desperation/emotion?! :wallbash: The Sabres look like a soul-less bunch; a team with no spirit; people who don't even know what hope is.
sabres1970 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 I just have nothing to say. Straight up beat. Not going to key in on the things that have killed us all year. It appears we can only beat the Capitals. Monday's game doesn't change anything, this team is still in dire need of a big trade.

He gets paid to be a difference maker.
darksabre Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 That was unpleasant. Not even good hockey. Just sloppy.
Eleven Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 The chat was fun, even if the game wasn't. Sykora? Really? I think he's my age.
87168 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 We were all sold on the fact that there would be an improvement not a regression. I'm not sitting here with trying to convince people that we need to be happy with teams performance. They are losing, that cannot be argued. What I am saying is that people on this forum seem to have a hard time tilting their hat to a player who has played well, especially one that has been struggling almost all season. Was it Miller's best game? Of course not, but he still played well.
Iron Crotch Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 We generated very little 5-on-5 offense. Vanek looked like his usual self, but no one else looked dangerous out there.
sabresnutinphoenix Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 win one, lose one, win one, lose one, win one, lose one, FIRE Lindy, win, win, win, win......
Eleven Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 We generated very little 5-on-5 offense. Vanek looked like his usual self, but no one else looked dangerous out there. Ehrhoff looked VERY dangerous early on. To his own team. No, I don't want him gone; no, I'm not all about killing management for bringing him here. But that line--the blue one--keep the puck in front of it, FFS!
Figster Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 That was unpleasant. Not even good hockey. Just sloppy. sloppy uninspired play and painful to watch...

No he gets paid to stop teh puck and that's somthing that he did fairly well today given type of shots he faced. With as little impact the the offense and defense made this game I'd say Miller was the difference in NJ's 3 goal finish as opposed to maybe 5 or 6
kishoph Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 25 minutes of ice time combined for Hecht and Boyes tonight, what is gained? 1 shot, 1 hit, and a combined -3? Roy and Stafford combined 39:45 TOI (7:21 PP), (2:51 SH) 1 shot, 2 hits, -2 combined. I'm a little bit more disgusted by the 2nd pair.
deluca67 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 sloppy uninspired play and painful to watch... You just described a Lindy Ruff coached team.

With as little impact the the offense and defense made this game I'd say Miller was the difference in NJ's 3 goal finish as opposed to maybe 5 or 6 Miller had little to do and very few tough saves. He is well paid and a huge part of this teams untouchable core, the standard need to be a little bit higher. Fairly well just isn't getting the job done though, whatever happened to good defensive Sabre hockey They traded him to Detroit for Slava Kozlov.
87168 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Fairly well just isn't getting the job done though, whatever happened to good defensive Sabre hockey ummm how many games have you seen where 1 goal wins it? Very few. Miller's performance should not be the topic of discussion, but rather our horrid offense.
