spndnchz Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 The frustrated clubs square off Monday night at Buffalo in the first of two meetings in a five-day span. It's game day. Put away the turkey and gravy. Let's play some hockey! Capitals one point ahead of the Sabres going into tonight's game. Let's hope Vanek is back.
itbeatswalking Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 I prayed for that last sentence!
neverenough Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 So if we lose, someone gets fired or moved? Christmas is over you no.
spndnchz Posted December 26, 2011 Author Report Posted December 26, 2011 Repeat after me.... Bring the energy from last week... bring the energy from last week....
Andrew Amerk Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 So if we lose, someone gets fired or moved? I like that idea.
Kristian Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 So if we lose, someone gets fired or moved? Christmas is over you no. If that were true, I'd happily take a double-digit whoopin'. Sad truth is, the Sabres could lose 11-1 tonight, and nothing would change anyway.

Kristian Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 Does that mean i should put the beer down and throw away the vodka? On the contrary, I see both things coming very much in handy for the foreseeable future, as things will remain exactly the same, and you'll mosty likely need something to numb the pain.

I miss em
deluca67 Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 :w00t: When will we see or hear from Terry P? I miss em The only things I want tot hear from Terry Pegula are the names of the new GM and coach. More than likely we would only hear how good this team will be once all the inured fourth liners are back in the lineup.
neverenough Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 I wonder if Lindy Ruff will be speaking of a win tonight or goalie safety?
deluca67 Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 I wonder if Lindy Ruff will be speaking of a win tonight or goalie safety? Just as likely that they will be talking about "over back-checking" if Miller lets in another long range softie. There is no limit to the excuses this team can come up with. "Over back-checking" has to be an all-time classic. No greater words have been spoken by a Buffalo sports figure since Wade Philips uttered the words "punt catcher."

Excuses are for losers and unfortunately this team is full of them. Excuses that is. I'd love to see the boys go on a one or two game streak ( thats what its come down to ) but being losers of 8 out of the last 11 I see this trend continue. I hope for better. GO SABRES!

waldo Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 Sit Vanek until healthy... No need to play him ... this is Washington.
spndnchz Posted December 26, 2011 Author Report Posted December 26, 2011 Vanek is on the ice at practice this morning.
Rico7 Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 Looks like Hecht and Boyes are back tonight too. Per Buffalo News, "Tyler Ennis is skating in white with Matt Ellis, Zack Kassian, Paul Szczechura and Luke Adam. You would think two from this group won't play tonight." http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/ IMHO- Adam and Kassian better not be the two. Would much rather see them in the lineup then Ellis and Szczechura, although I do like the way Szczechura has played.

carpandean Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 Is Whitmore still up? If not, who am I missing ... Vanek-Hecht-Pominville Boyes-Roy-Stafford Adam-Szczuchura-Kassian McCormick-Gaustad-Kaleta And, yes, I know that Stafford is a RW, but he played fine on the left when he and Vanek switched for a period last year. Edit: moved some players based on article. Edit 2: I see the issue. Is the article suggesting that Ennis is actually ready to play? I thought that he wasn't that close.
Wyldnwoody44 Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 I wonder how many more losses we can endure before all hell breaks loose? Its getting testy already, and I can't say I really fault anyone for that. This team should be better. Flat out with no excuses. Maybe not a top tier team, but def better than what we see. The bills won a meaningless game tho, so it gives us something to be positive about through the holidays. As for tonights game, Washington is similar to buffalo, struggling and searching for their identity. This is a winnable game that buffalo really needs to win. I want to see a hard flight game as per the toronto game. If we play that same style we will win tonight. Make it happen boys. (boyes) ;)
R_Dudley Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 Yeah Hockey's back, well maybe if they decide to bring it tonight. I would like to see them give Thomas a bit more time to get healthy. If it is a shoulder it will take more than a couple of days rest and it's time for some of the other loafers to step up, Specifcally Stafford and Roy. So how about it Ryan, Miller time for a few hard fought 2-1 games where you outplay the other guy. Let's go Bflo.
thesportsbuff Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 BillHoppeSabres Bill Hoppe #Sabres Brad Boyes and Jochen Hecht back in. Derek Whitmore is back in Rochester. Looks like Paul Szczechura is out. #Buffalo
