Bullwinkle Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 A lot of guys have been called up from Rochester this season. Which one is your favorite and may actually be likely to stick when the injuries die down? My personal favorite is McNabb. At 6'5" with his hitting power, I can see him becoming another Pronger. In fact he's one guy I wouldn't consider trading. Will he stick? Well, not with the overload of dmen on the squad right now, which offers the possibility of trading material...MAGS, Leopold, Sekera, and Weber are now all more expendable with McNabb's rise. Sure he will make mistakes...a lot of them...but he's a diamond in the rough IMO.
dEnnis the Menace Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Mcnabb and Kassian. Both have shown constant improvement and have brought grit and skill to their respective positions. I'd love to see those two stay up.

LGR4GM Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I am going with Corey Tropp because I think he plays hard and has potential to land on the 2/3 line of an NHL team some day and be that grinder who can really contribute.
deluca67 Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Choosing between Kassian and McNabb is like making "Sofie's Choice." What they bring to the rink are qualities this franchise has missed for years. If either gets sent back down it should be considered a crime against Sabre fans.
dEnnis the Menace Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 No fair...you picked two. I can't pick between the two. They bring that 'IT' attitude that this team needs.
R_Dudley Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 McNabb and Kassian w/o a doubt because they give us grit on the front and back side. Loved the way Kasian called out Phanuef last night to go presumably because he boarded him the previous game. And Mcnabb did try and have go with him when he crashed the net on Miller. Regehr was the other one to challenge Phanuef for the Vanek cheapshot. On a seperate note/topic though as much as a dislike Phanuef that is exactly what I would expect a captain of the team do to stir things up for their team that's trying to break a slump. (Pommer's you listening ? Please take notes)
bcsaberks Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I put Adam in that group too, but I'll go Kassian. Him challenging Phaneuf is what this team has desperately needed in the top 6 since Peca left.
Iron Crotch Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Kassian because we haven't had a forward with his size and strength coupled with some offensive ability in forever. He can carry the puck with one hand and hold off the defenseman with the other, something few of our current forwards have the strength to do (have seen Vanek do it some). Plus he seems to be a pretty good passer. And, he has a nasty attitude... and he looks like a mean SOB, which has to count for something!
Weave Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Kassian. He's got everything our top 6 forwards need but don't have. I want him up for teh remainder of the year. In fact, I want him on a top 2 line for the remainder of the year.
Who Else? Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 McNabb he is the Sabres only defenseman that actually defends the blue line. The rest back up so fast you would think they were the goalie. The third goal last night is the perfect example.
sabres1970 Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 McNabb with Kassian as a close second. It came down to me wondering how bad our D core would be without him plugged in for Myers. Grags and Weber in the lineup at the same time? oof.

If they are not being told to back up, and the players are doing it anyways, then the coaching staff is worse off than I thought.

I agree with you that it probably is the coaching method, but that makes me like McNabb all the more.

Last night they were told NOT to back up and the forwards were told not to over pursue. The Leafs like to gain the zone and look for the trailer. (See Kadri goal). As for McNabb, I don't think he needs to be told it's his style to not let you gain the line.
inkman Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Szezchura. Just to hear RJ mail it in everytime he says his name. Come on man!

(Pommer's you listening ? Please take notes) What's not to like about Phanuef - aside that he plays on the wrong team? I'd take him over Regehr any day. And you had the two plays reversed; McNabb approached Phanuef after the Vanek thing and Robyn did after he poked at the puck Miller had smothered. And I think that neither McNabb or Regehr really wanted a piece of him or they would have forced the issue. I thought Kass and he were going to go but credit Phaneuf for knowing he's more valuable to his club on the ice than in the box... Edit: Forgot to answer the question at hand. Kass or McNabb, flip a coin.
Eleven Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Prancer. He's really helped Dancer step up his game. Or McNabb.
JKB1646 Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Does Adam's count? is he technically a call up? Favorite call up Adams..yeah Adams. Especially with 20 pts (10 goals) on a team full of third liners that are on pace to score less than 10 goals the enitre yr!

RazielSabre Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Kass, thought he wouldn't have much of an impact but he showed a lot of maturity.
thesportsbuff Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Kassian by far. McNabb is a breath of fresh air as well, and seems to be adjusting quickly to the NHL game, but in my opinion what Kassian brings to our forward lines is just such a vast improvement over some of the players we've had here for like 5 years, you have to give him the nod. Tropp was also very impressive.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 There was this girl in college who I used to talk on the phone with all the time. She was 90 miles away, but we'd go out on the weekends, alternating visits. She was a little chubby, but in a cute way, and had a really pretty smile and eyes. Funny too.
