K-9 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Then please allow me to say that I also believe that somewhere in the darkest night, a candle glows. GO SABRES!!!
SwampD Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Some random game thoughts- -it wasn't that bad of a game, but you can take your exciting loss and shove it up yer a$$. -Heart, intensity, soul, effort,.. all of these things had nothing to do with why we lost. The AHL squad on the ice for us just was simply not as good as Ottawa. -Miller did all he could. -That penalty on Goose,... boy,... okay, whatever. (it wasn't against Neil it was on the guy in front of the net before Neil came over) -I might actually do something on Thursday I haven't done since the lockout, choose to not watch a game. -I HATE uncoverd D at the points in our zone and have for years. This fu###ng sucks!!!!
Samson's Flow Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Wouldnt that be the 26th? No wonder I was always getting strange looks on December 26th...
Eleven Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I didn't get to see most of it, but I saw the third in its entirety, and I saw this: 1. AHLers against NHLers. I saw a LOT of that. With this team right now, it's of course the only option, but wow. There is a huge difference between youngsters (or even oldsters like Ellis) from the minors and the NHL players. 2. Derek Roy's shift that began with approximately 5:50 left in the third was one of the laziest shifts I've ever seen from a Sabre not wearing either the number 19 or 21. It was a long shift, to be sure, but even the first half of it was completely devoid of energy and effort. Were it not for the fact that he plays a position of need, I might want him gone before Stafford. I suppose it's possible that Ruff told him the shift would be long and asked him to conserve energy, but I find that incredibly unlikely. 3. Sekera: ton of effort along the boards, but couldn't come up with the puck, at least when I watched. I'd rather the effort than watch MAG float around. I'd dress Reggie over MAG any day. 4. I didn't know it was possible, but I hate Chris Neil even more now.
87168 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Stupid injured players, Yup, we do deserve better hahahaha!!! you blame this teams performance on injuries!?!? did you watch them towards the beginning of the season up until now or did you just start tuning in when miller returned?
... Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I think the Sabres need to make some changes. Within reason, of course.
Samson's Flow Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I think the Sabres need to make some changes. Within reason, of course. groundbreaking stuff here
Weave Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Some random game thoughts- -it wasn't that bad of a game, but you can take your exciting loss and shove it up yer a$$. As a guy who selected "entertaining loss" in that poll I feel compelled to tell you that we haven't seen an exciting loss in a good long time. This certainly wasn't one. I would have thought it was rather obvious. You may carry on with the group anger management meeting now.
... Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 The comments in this thread, I don't know, it's like you all need the Sabres to suck. It fills a void or something. Sad, really. What would you all do if the Sabres had won?
deluca67 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Not beating many teams with only 23 shots. Another game goes by, they'll be another one on Thursday. Just more wasted time.
kishoph Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I don't want to hear excuse about injuries or penalties. Yeah, the Gaustad one wasn't a call I'd make but he still needs to know, as a veteran, that at that stage of the game you need to be cautious. I can't stress enough my anger at the following players: -Stafford -Roy -Weber -Gaustad If it were guys like Whitmore, Foligno, Kassian,Adam making these kinds of mistakes I'd day fine. They're young, they're not supposed to be up yet. But the fact that it's guys like Roy, Stafford and Gaustad killing is night in and night out is mind numbing. Break up this chemistry, because it ain't working. Those young guys are playing better than the vets, but as someone else mentioned, that will change once they learn Lindy's system. I thought Whitmore looked good and Foligno picked it up in the 3rd. If Winnipeg wins tonight the Sabres will be in 11th place in the East. Pegula and Black have to do something and take away this team from Ruff and Regier, before this is another lost season.
darksabre Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Not beating many teams with only 23 shots. Another game goes by, they'll be another one on Thursday. Just more wasted time. This we can agree on.

I didn't think it was all that boring either though, and it was 2 to 1 until late in the third. And it's an AA meeting,.. Apathetics anonymous.
K-9 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 You know, if I could say anything to the boys in the locker room right now it would be that it's always darkest before the dawn, fellas. GO SABRES!!!

What would you all do if the Sabres had won? I counted three in particular who were just here to bitch.
Figster Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 hahahaha!!! you blame this teams performance on injuries!?!? did you watch them towards the beginning of the season up until now or did you just start tuning in when miller returned? Just kidding, but injuries havent helped matters with both organizations
kishoph Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 This game was not handed to the Sens by the refs. Yes, the refs were not very good, but we'd have lost anyway. This team needs to learn how to intimidate... That's not going to happen with the likes of Roy, Pominville, Stafford or Vanek. The officiating wasn't great (I didn't see what Goose did), but the Sabres got away with a few calls also, I wouldn't blame this game on Officiating.
sabres1970 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I can't remember the last time I watched a Buffalo team win live. Didn't watch friday's game. Didn't get to watch the Florida game, or the Nashville game. That's drifting into November...???!!! I'm also a huge Bills fan like many of you are, so it's not looking good on either end of the spectrum.

This fu###ng sucks!!!! The AHLers seem to be the only players showing up. The problem isn't the NHLers that are injured, it's the NHLers that are in the lineup that are the problem. That was Pominville blowing coverage on the power-play and Vanek turning the puck over for the empty net goal. That was Leopold with the sad attempt at a dump in while the Sabres were changing that directly led to the first Ottawa goal. AHLers and injuries are just the current flavors of excuses.
Iron Crotch Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Anyone see Evander Kane take out Montoya in the Jets - Islanders game? Shades of Tootoo running Miller.
Bmwolf21 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Stupid injured players, Yup, we do deserve better Deserve's got nothing to do with it. Not beating many teams with only 23 shots. Another game goes by, they'll be another one on Thursday. Just more wasted time. Yep.

Well at least they beat my early over/under of 15 shots... EDIT: Speaking of which, I thought I inducted you into team rainbows - what gives?

You missed your calling weave, great comedic responses are in your blood, I would suggest calling Drew Carey to see if they are going to restart the "Who's Line is it Anyways" series, you would do well I think.
