Well, there's no doubt that these people are oppressed beyond our imagination; however, if this year has taught us anything, its that people can make a change. Libya was run by an oppressive dictator for 40 years. He ended the year sodomized by a knife and with a bullet hole for all to see on youtube. I'm sure that there's a sizable percentage of North Koreans who are waiting for change. All it takes is a small vocal group to get things started. Yes, they're brainwashed, but its definitely not out of the question for major change to happen.

Certainly there is the chance. There are a number of people who successfully escaped. Unfortunately, the regime has been notorious for isolating themselves, at least the citizens, from outside media. Interesting that you bring up Libya, I just recently read in the last few days due to Kim's death, that some North Koreans were off in Libya, and were prevented from returning to North Korea because of their exposure to what happened in Libya. Obviously, the regime feared that they could potentially bring some of that trouble back with them.
