Watched the first episode last night in the hotel room. There's some decent stuff in there and a surprisingly large amount of on ice f-bombs... :oops:

I agree, however I found myself enjoying the Rangers parts more than the Flyers parts, probably due to my hatred for that team...

My dislike of Tortarella made the Rangers parts equally hated. :thumbsup:

i asked because, at the linked thread, you responded to my confusion about issues with "copyright stuff" by providing me the following "automated" message: Copying and pasting whole articles or large portions of articles is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. in terms of copyright, the hbo special is no different than a written piece. so i'm wondering why it's okay to embed an entire copyrighted film, but it wasn't okay to copy and paste an entire copyrighted article. that's all.

That is up to youtube to police, not us. The only thing that get "embeded" is some youtube code. The video is stored and served from youtube and can be deleted without our intervention. When someone posts an article here - it is stored on our servers and therefore WE have to remove it. Big difference.

i had a sense that there was a difference, from a tech standpoint. thanks, scott.

 

but it seems to me that the distinction you're describing is concerned with how the issue gets cured (in the case of the article, you all have to expunge it; in the case of the youtube clip, it disappears on its own at the source), but not whether the posting of the materials is an issue in the first place.

 

if the admins didn't want copyrighted articles being used/re-broadcast without permission (and i wasn't sure there was a problem there, fwiw), then i didn't see why the use or re-broadcast of a copyrighted film should be treated differently. that's all.

 

and in the event it's not clear: i'm not trying to play gotcha games; i value and respect the community you oversee, and i just wanted to call to mind what seemed to be a relevant "precedent."

You must hate me, because about 95% of what he said, I have said. :P

 

HBO is far and away the best programming you can find.

Being a Rochester native, I liked the part about the city and Callahan. OK, who didn't sniffle during the part with Callahan's gramma?

 

I wasn't going to watch because I despise both teams, but the quality of this show is just too good. Set the DVR to tape the remaining segments.

One of the coaches said something about not messing with the lines, so they can grow chemistry...and because it can make the players lose confidence and start second guessing...

 

Wonder if Lindy saw it and paid any attention.
