Weave Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgQBC0U5SR4 Cody gets some great shots in early. The uppercut that tosses Konopka's helmet was a dandy. But Konopka came back with a flurry late. I'm calling this one a draw. Maybe a slight edge to Mic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCKGlJueF-A Ehrhoff was chuckin' bombs, two of which landed. Greening got a couple more shits in flush though. Nice spirited tussle by Ehrhoff. Solid, entertaining draw.
FolignosJock Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I gave it to them both on count of them both drawing blood. You cut a guy in a draw you get the win IMO especially the way McCormick fought.
MattPie Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Two draws, but both good fights. LIke Erhoff's if only for the situation.
DumbPuck Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I see the Cody fight as a draw. He did seem to get the better shots in, but there was also a point in the fight where I think he realized he had a tiger by the tail and decided he should try to end the fight (like that one guy did a few weeks ago when Kassian lost his jersey and the guy covered his face). I gave the latter matchup to Ehrhoff as he fought with some fury and I think caught the guy offguard. The reason was right, the energy was right, the decision was right. Loved it.

spndnchz Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Cody lands at least 6 punches. Konopka lands at the most 3 and gets bloodied. Cody wins. And HTF does Konopka not get two for instigating? Ehrhoff surprised Greening. Good stand up fight for Ehrhoff. Ehrhoff win on principle.
thesportsbuff Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I think McCormick won straight up and the Ehrhoff bout was a draw. I don't give freebie votes for "principle," but I was impressed by how Ehrhoff stood up for Miller no questions asked after contact was made with him. One of the few bright spots of the game
That Aud Smell Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 tip of the hat to ehrhoff for showing what it means to play team-tough. the guy has a 10-year contract and, human nature being what it is, could've taken lindy's apparent admonition from several weeks back somewhat lightly, and chosen not to do something so out of character during a game played in december. but he didn't. color me impressed, even if my view of fighting's place in the game has changed dramatically.
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 idk about anyone else but my opinion of ehrhoff has improved greatly since the beginning of the season. That fight is icing on the cake IMO, win ehrhoff.

Solid, entertaining draw. I usually get my shits in before I flush too. That's just the way I fight.
Tyrannustyrannus Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Erhoff punches like he shoots: high and wide
Assquatch Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Funny how someone (my memory fails me who - Gaustad?) "didn't see" Lucic hit Miller even though the video showed him looking right in that direction, while in this case Ehrhoff was definitely looking exactly the other way but somehow knew to turn around and start throwing bombs. Good on him.
nobody Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 What I liked about the Konopka McCormick fight (besides that punch by Cody to knock off Konopka's helmet) was at the end when they are being escorted to the boxes; it looks like Konopka give Cody a few words of appreciation for a good fight.

It actually looked like Cody said something along the lines of "that was good fight" to Konopka at the end? I remember Ray and Domi doing something like that at the end of one of their later fights.

I saw and thought the exact same thing.

korab rules Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I try to time it so they're in just as the whirlpool is at full velocity. I am so proud of my creations that I prefer to leave them for other to discover and admire.
kishoph Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I loved the uppercut sending Konopka's helmet flying. I definitely give that one to Cody, Konopka's face looked pretty beaten and I haven't bothered looking for an injury report (they never tell anything), but it looked like his nose was busted. Ehrhoff also gets my vote, he handled himself all right (also drew blood), but the topper for me is why he fought to begin with, he didn't hesitate at all to defend a teammate.
mudberry Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I would call the McCormick fight a draw though he was ahead at the beginning. Konopka had a pretty strong finish-solid fight by both. I might give it to Cody just because Konopka's faced looked like it took more punishment. I think Erhoff won that fight. Greening might get it if there were take down points.
JWell Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Sabres 2 and 0 in this game. great job responding by erhoff even though it was much. (compared to tootoo and lucic)
