Eleven Posted January 26, 2014 Author Report Posted January 26, 2014 You know, one day I am going to log on and this thread will be titled "Stafford is gone." And a piece of my world will be vanished forever. I can't wait until I can change the title. And Chz--don't do it for me this time!
Robviously Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 I can't wait until I can change the title. And Chz--don't do it for me this time! What an amazing feeling that will be. I guess it could still happen this year too. Probably at least a few playoff teams that would take a chance on Stafford.
TrueBlueGED Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 I almost at Stafford to sign an extension just to see this board's reaction. Almost :P

I will not lock the thread. I almost at Stafford to sign an extension just to see this board's reaction. Almost :P I am likely to have a cardiac incident.

qwksndmonster Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 In his first ~30 games Drew Stafford scored 9 points. In his last 16 games Drew Stafford scored 10 points. Drew Stafford 50% salary retained for a 2nd or third. Maybe make it Stafford and a 2nd for a 1st?

North Buffalo Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Trade him now while he is on a hot streak. He has value now, trade... trade... trade... trade... trade. Pulease! Edited February 4, 2014 by North Buffalo
FolignosJock Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Stafford for a Mighty Pack, hot, with sour cream. Now my mouth is watering. That is exactly how I order them as well.....
chileanseabass Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 No point in trading Stafford now. He's back on track, and will be the team captain next year
Johnny DangerFace Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) I still say keep and then sign a team friendly contract as a bottom 6 scorer. He has great character, works hard, and can occasionally get some goals Edited February 4, 2014 by Numark
dudacek Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Here's something to get you excited for the stretch drive: after the deadline, Stafford might be our best all-around forward.
Assquatch Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 No point in trading Stafford now. He's back on track, and will be the team captain commander next year  FTFY
LTS Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 So while everyone waits for the inevitable decline of Stafford, what if, just maybe, Ted Nolan was the answer to making Drew Stafford the player he is now and this continues? This is where having a new management team in place is good because they don't have to look at the history of Stafford. I don't think he's going anywhere. His cap hit is $4MM and that's going to be spot on for where he ends up on this roster.

dudacek Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Unless he is a lesser element to a blockbuster trade, or some foolish team offers up a a first-rounder, I don't see any world where Drew Stafford isn't a Sabre until next year's deadline. There was talk of Briere earlier, but I don't see the Sabres doing that now.

IKnowPhysics Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Apparently I have walked into a Mighty Taco jihad. I will now concede, realizing that further arguing will only make me hungrier for things I don't want to pay the shipping for.
