korab rules Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 When you have a moment, I know that I, and maybe others, would greatly appreciate you adding back in the animated "unsure" emoticon. Thanks for your time.
... Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 When you guys say "app" are you actually referring to a separate app you launch to view the site, or do you really mean the mobile version of the site as viewed in your mobile browser? Because, it looks to me that the mobile version of the site is considered a theme, and apparently the theme you use is saved with your account. This means I have to switch themes depending on the platform used to access the site. This should all happen automatically and transparently like it did with the old software.
spndnchz Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Related to this, can the "interests" section of a profile be limited to a few lines? Sometimes the posts take up a ton of visual space because of the poster info, even when the post itself is only a line or two. Dear God please do this. Some are like a novel. For sigs I'd say 5 lines. One link.
SwampD Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 :( (null) For some reason the quote function isn't working for me as well. I wonder if it's a problem with the IPboards app? Try going into your Mail, Contacts, Calenders preferences and changing your sig.
korab rules Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Another thing I noticed that I don't like - I will often navigate to the end of a thread by clicking on the link that is the date of the most recent post. On the old version as well as TBD, the date was above the name of the poster. On the new version, the date is below on this site only, but still above the poster's name on TBD. This confusion has caused me to click on the poster's name several times today, causing me to view their page and my name to appear in the list of members who have recently visited their profile . I am worried that this simple mistake may lead to allegations of stalking and a violation of a protective order.

korab rules Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 What do you mean "MAY"? :w00t: I would explain, but my attorney thinks it's a bad idea. :(
biodork Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 But my interests section loses steam if I have to stop at pina coladas lol no worries, weave... yours is fine; it's the ones that are much longer that start to become a problem.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 lol no worries, weave... yours is fine; it's the ones that are much longer that start to become a problem. That's not the first time he's heard that from a nice lady.
LabattBlue Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 I like how any text formatting you do(bold, underline, text size, etc...) now shows up immediately in the editing window.

spndnchz Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Did it two more times. I may not post much for the next 1-3 years. Hover your mouse over the thread between the title and the "views" part. You'll see an arrow. CLICK. It shows the first few and last post of the thread.
SDS Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 Did it two more times. I may not post much for the next 1-3 years. I don't get it. Are you routinely reading threads with no new posts in them? If the had new posts, just use the circle/star on the left.

If the had new posts, just use the circle/star on the left. No, I just have a habit of using the latest post date to navigate to it rather than the star or whatever that yellow thing was in the prior version. Probably because I never realized what the yellow thing was until about two weeks ago. Hover your mouse over the thread between the title and the "views" part. You'll see an arrow. CLICK. It shows the first few and last post of the thread. Interesting new feature. I just need to develop some new habits. I hate that.
DumbPuck Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 SDS, Is the mobile version supposed to look the same as the Desktop version? I am viewing via my Motorola Droid X in Dolphin Browser HD with browser type tag set to "Android" and I no longer get a very mobile-friendly view as of this update. The view on my phone is the same as the one from my desktop ... which is not good on my phone :-P. EDIT: For testing, I adjusted my browser's Agent String to "IPHONE" and I now see the much nicer looking mobile version. Is there any chance you can add "Android" agent string to the mobile agent string list please? It is a pain to change this setting all the time and I am certain you have several members with Android devices around here :-).

I'm having similar problems on my HTC evo, not overly frustrating, but a mobile version for the android platform would be much appreciated. Thanks again for all you do Scott.

Doohicksie Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Put the user names in bold in the threads and I would call it perfect.
SDS Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 Put the user names in bold in the threads and I would call it perfect. Apparently my posts are being blocked. ??? More info would be needed for either of these posts to be addressed.
