87168 Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 I love when people point the finger at the goaltender, as is no ither player on the ice has an impact on the score.
Robviously Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 I guess the Sabres are in full rebuilding mode now. Or, that's the only excuse left to use. It's not an excuse. It's admitting you've got a problem. Maybe we can stop talking about trading prospects for stars and start talking about trading stars for prospects?
Marvelo Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 what is this, the Red Wings vs. the Washington Generals? :censored:
87168 Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 I'm not saying he's the only problem out there but I can remember one game since Miller went out where he made a difference. Are you watching the game, the guy looks shakey on even the saves hes making. How many goals can be scored five hole before the guy figures it out? every goalie has a weak spot. miller's is the top shelf and enroth's is the five hole.
... Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 How dare the crowd boo after that period. Don't they remember TPegs shedding tears over his hero? And hasn't Darcy urged "patience"? Ungrateful lot, the pizza has been upgraded, what more do they want?

Are you watching the game, the guy looks shakey on even the saves hes making. How many goals can be scored five hole before the guy figures it out? My point exactly. Enroth is an ahl goalie, he doesn't learn from his mistakes. I love how everybody on here wants to say "you're retarded if you think the goalie is the problem". Wake up people, they didn't score any hard unstoppable shots, if miller is in the bench, he should step into this one, Detroit is a team that is going to win the cup, do I expect our team to win, no. But I expect them to learn from their mistakes, which is not happening, that's a coach problem, he needs to go.

Are you watching the game, the guy looks shakey on even the saves hes making. How many goals can be scored five hole before the guy figures it out? The Detroit feed showed the jump in his numbers from the start of the season from when Miller went out: First 6 games: 5-0 (5 starts) 1.34 GAA, .960 Last 9 games (since Miller injury): 3-4-1 (8 starts) 2.99 GAA, .902 Obviously there are other things in play here, but he hasn't been rock-steady like we hoped (or needed) with the team banged up.
bunomatic Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 every goalie has a weak spot. miller's is the top shelf and enroth's is the five hole. 5 hole is his weak spot but hecht had the puck about a foot from the blue line and should have chipped it out but decided to turn the damn thing over. Breakdowns like that cause goals.
SabreInFla Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 5 hole is his weak spot but hecht had the puck about a foot from the blue line and should have chipped it out but decided to turn the damn thing over. Breakdowns like that cause goals. Followed by another Gragnani special. Both players are to blame on that one.
deluca67 Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Apparently we have a ways to go. Are you kidding? Eleven is writing a post right now about how well the Sabres played in the 1st period. I said after the Islander game that the level of effort they displayed would get them blown out by most teams. Here they are with the same effort and a 3-0 deficit. There is a huge problem when a team has to be embarrassed nationally in order to put out an effort. But hey, let's give Lindy and Darcy more time. Enroth needs to make that stop on the first goal, without question. That said, can someone tell me what Leino was thinking on the play? All he had to do is move the puck up the boards and out of the zone. For some reason he decided to toss a grounder behind the net. I thought puck control and board play was his strength.
kishoph Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 I can't blame ENROTH for all the goals, but putting MILLER in might just spark the team, maybe thinking they owe him and elevate their game and as I said if MILLER isn't ready to go, LINDY had no business dressing him. LINDY's coaching has gone very stale and he can't get this team up for anything, it's time he goes.

Wings have won 17 out of the last 21 against the Sabres.

He's a slow starter he's just getting warmed up, LINDY will give him more ice time.
zow2 Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Wow, just wow. That period was men against boys. Detroit plays like i hope Buffalo will be able to play someday.
hockeyhound Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 The Sabres need to be more aware. Vanek made a great effort along the far boards; during that time on the opposite side Roy or Pominville is across the way just admiring the play. Roy or Pominville have to do a better job of getting to the inside as the play develops. Vanek made a great effort, great pass, just to put the puck onto a Redwing stick. I love Enroth's effort; however, it seems to me that he goes down into the butterfly way to early. Miller gets away with playing in the butter fly position because of his height; however, lately teams have his number, and many of the shots you see are going high over the shoulder. Enroth is not Miller.

Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 If Miller comes in and gets lit up....it will be further open season on him and Ruff. You have to keep Enroth in tonight. There is no upside in switching, only downside.
deluca67 Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Did I read correctly, are the Blues 8-1-2 since they changed head coach? Didn't the coach they picked up win a Stanley Cup?
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Even the Laser-Zambonis suck
bunomatic Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Ruff literally looks like he's trying not to fall asleep on the bench. Meanwhile the commentators talk about how coaches are hired to be fired.
deluca67 Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Even the Laser-Zambonis suck Are they ill-tempered Zambonis?
