Robviously Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 No one has been knocking TPegs. Where do you get this from. Yesterday's game thread where Pegula "only did the easy things" since buying the team. EDIT: Fun times.
Andrew Amerk Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Dude. Lay off. It's obnoxious. Sabres fans spelling the players names wrong is obnoxious. Equally as obnoxious as the dreaded Sabers. Getting Szczechura wrong is understandable. Getting the name wrong of someone who was on the ice for half the F'N game, is inexcusable.
Formerly Allan in MD Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 This board is way too positive right now. Let me offset it: I HATE TIM CONNOLLY. Oh wait... Has anyone else been noticing that MAG is passing very accurately, but often too hard? It seems like he's nervous so he puts too much zip on his passes... I think the guy will turn his game around, though. MAG has always passed accurately. Too bad his defense is so erratic. He really costs this team in his own end. Should we discuss Sekera's defensive proclivities as well?
... Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 And Ruffs a good coach  Uhm...Ruff needs to learn from this game. The entire organization can learn from this game. I think they need to see what happens with the roster they had playing tonight over the next few games. If they can play "the system" successfully, and keep up with the grit, and everyone continues to look like they're having fun (hugely important and often overlooked, IMHO), then they need to take note of it. They would need to act on this revelation. Usually, when a player is finished convalescing, they rush that player back onto the roster, and ship the call-up back down, regardless of how well the call-up played, and how the roster-regular had played prior to being injured. I don't know if that's wise. Lindy needs to figure out how he gets the team to play well like they did tonight, and get them to do it more consistently despite what the roster looks like. There's no excuses for injuries this season - we've all seen it now with our own eyes. If a healthy roster can't do it, then he needs to sit people and call up people who will "bring it". TPegs, Black and DR need to take this game and realize that they have players ready to jump in, and that, as someone already said, it's time to get rid of the rust. If none of this happens, then we're back to square one as fans.

Should we discuss Sekera's defensive proclivities as well? His passing and defense are a result of someone being afraid to get hit. I'm convinced of it. Watch him closely during a game, he'll make a hasty, albeit usually accurate, pass to get out of the way, or he'll avoid the puck or the man if he thinks he's going to get hit.

What is this, 1941? And Eroff was on the ice 27 minutes.....less than half the game. Carp says your math skills are obnoxious. :nana:
rickshaw Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I am glahd tha the Sabbres one tonite because if they loosed than it wood half bean horrible. Good to sea Erhhoff play will. And I'm reely happee that Cassian scored two. Grate win for the bouys!

Yes, Airhoff was on the ice 45% of the game. In math, if you were rounding, does 45 swing to the 40 or the 50?

This reminds me of something.....on the play Lucic ran over Miller, I think the play should have been called dead 15 seconds earlier when Sekera looked to be offsides in keeping the puck in.

LaLaLaFontaine Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 @all the Gragnani haters: Who is leading our +- ranking with +7? Gragnani! He also made 8 points in 20 games. Who has +- stat of - 5 in only 3 games? Weber. i know on this board i won't be popular by stating this, but i take Gragnani at any time over Weber. @all: Alltogether it was fine game against he caps although they looked as we looked the night before. Nevertheless an important and nice win, with young players sucessfully stepping. If you look on our injury list right now you could give up your hopes, but with that depth and rookies sucesffully filling in i am not down anymore. I liked Hecht and Leino. Adam was a beast proving that he can score without playing with Vanek and Pommers. I believed we would loose this game, but now we are back on the 7nth seed in the east. I hope we keep up the style of playing hockey like tonight the next games.
wjag Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Just four things: 4. If you were at the game and heard the "Hey Semin, you're supposed to be a swimmer, not a diver," comment, well, I was very proud of it. That's brilliant! The Sabres won so I guess Pegula is a good owner again. LOL.. A bit over the top, but I understand the sentiment. After 23 games now... It's still EHRHOFF. It hasn't changed. I'm no linguist, but I'm pretty sure it is not spelled in all capital letters. If I remember my grammar correctly, only the "E" is capitalized. And Ruffs a good coach  This one is not over the top Dude. Lay off. It's obnoxious. Speaking of obnoxious, your avatar is going to give someone a seizure.. Good post. The callups stuck to the basics, kept it simple, used the fundamentals, and it was effective. The callups played with the edge of someone saying, this is my chance to make the big club. I doubt they can sustain that level of play. If they could, the Amerks would be undefeated. Uhm...Ruff needs to learn from this game. Before I accept your premise, I'd like to see these same cats against the Isles. Last year, the Sabres struggled against the Isles. The callups will have quite a few games to play in Buffalo. We are getting an early season look on what might be, probably will be playoff callups. I'm going to start misspelling names just to drive you crazy. Brilloiant! I am glahd tha the Sabbres one tonite because if they loosed than it wood half bean horrible. Good to sea Erhhoff play will. carpandean Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 In math, if you were rounding, does 45 swing to the 40 or the 50? To the nearest percent? 45 To the nearest integer? 0 To the nearest 1/10 (10%)? Then, yes, 0.50 (50%). But why stop there? Why not round to the nearest 1/2? That way anyone who played 15 minutes or more "played half of the game." So ... Carp says your math skills are obnoxious. :nana:

Seriously, the corrections are way obnoxious. dudes. do we need to be so ruff on the guy? maybe we kaleta go and just be friends. leino ill will at the poor guy's feet, ya know? for all we know, maybe he has a stafford infection. he's not gonna try to kassian on any bet that he's a board fave for all the name gestapo stuff, but still. ellis probably embarrassed enough from all the flack he's getting, ennis probably worried about getting booted off the board. hecht, if i kept going after everyone's spelling and grammar like that, i'd be afraid of getting banned too. or maybe he doesn't give adam. i don't know. okay ... that's all i can come up with for now. head cold and hydrocodone cough syrup. 'nuff said.
qwksndmonster Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 This game showed how far effort can go. Sure, the Caps played horrible, but the Sabericans came out ready to play and dominated play the whole game. If we ever see "the core" floating and not putting forth effort again, then they should be healthy scratched without hesitation. Watching the hungry AHLers was a pleasant experience after watching that Friday game. So the Sabres are hit by injuries and then play better... Apparently, unhealthy changes everything.

Watching the hungry AHLers was a pleasant experience after watching that Friday game. So the Sabres are hit by injuries and then play better... Apparently, unhealthy changes everything. I also think it showed what the Sabres are trying to build. Guys like Kassian and McNabb have been in the system for a while and the master plan was (from what I could tell) to build a bigger, nastier team from within. We added Kassian and McNabb in the last two games and the Sabres were throwing a lot more hits. And Foligno is still right down the road in Rochester (probably hoping for one more injury to a Sabres forward). He's not as scary as Kassian, but he's just as big and equally into getting physical. And Myers and Weber are on their way back. If this works, the Sabres won't be a small, wimpy team anymore. Keep your fingers crossed. I can't remember the last time we had this much size and strength in the pipeline.
