I really hate "a little birdie told me" journalism. Pics or it didn't happen. This is just stirring up trouble in an already unhappy fan-base. If this is being discussed in another thread I apologize.

 

If a player called out Miller anonymously or off the record to Bucky Gleason, he's a bigger baby than Miller could ever possibly be. Thats toxic locker-room cancer BS.

One line from Bucky's article strikes a quirky composition note for me:

 

"Rather than complain about players like Lucic, they should try acquiring players like Lucic. Based on the evidence, how can anyone argue?"

 

Bucky begs the question based on the assumption...

 

Who complained about players like Lucic?

 

 

There was criticism directed at Lucic for making a specific unnecessary hit, but complaining about players like Lucic?

I'm not sure what the assumption is.....Lucic isn't necessarily trying to kill people out there even though he's a bull of man.

 

I've seen him make some classy moves on the ice in terms of sportsmanship....the fight with McCormick in the playoffs (was it?)comes to mind. Lucic had Cody dead to rights and pulled his punches after pulling Cody back up. Lucic could have killed him. But the point was made.

 

Of course I thought the hit on Miller Sat. was gratuitous, but Lucic isn't otherwise a cheap shot. He doesn't have to be.

I made it this far and then realized that Gleason is a tool and stopped reading. Also they do not have a freaking clue what happens behind closed doors and Gleason is a troll and whiny little kid. This paragraph had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the column which after I calmed down I skimmed.

 

 

 

Dear Bucky,

 

Stop. Your hack journalism is not appreciated or worthy of this franchise. Here is a idea, stop writing this garbage and actually do some research and write something positive... If I had respect for you, this article made it evaporate faster than a drop of water on the sun. You are a whiny, immature child, who is upset that Miller didn't let you walk all over him and his teammates while standing in THEIR locker room as a guest.

My assumption is Bucky is doing his job writing articles that draw readership/hits. I think he is working with a bit of hyperbole. Like I said, film at 11. And he found an opportunity to toss some arrogance back at Miller. Bonus. Players never win battles with the press.

Miller has a brain injury......a concussion is a brain injury not a head injury.

Bucky writes that Miller was near tears before the media was admitted into the locker room after the Boston game. Why is that so unbelievable? I'd be upset too if I was Miller. Someone was quoted anonymously? Do you want to be the teammate that goes on record of what goes on behind closed doors?

 

This is the same type of whining that takes place over at TSW every time Sully writes something negative about the Bills.

I've seen the exact opposite from him far too often though. He'll jump into most hits (probably a culture of the game thing more than anything). He seems to continue punching downed opponents regularly. He's also one to celebrate post fight pretty often. There is zero respect in his game as far as I'm concerned.

 

And as for Bucky, I really don't mind him, but each time I read one of his columns, I miss Jim Kelley even more. I could draw the parallel to all of our goalies of the past 10 years, stepping into the shoes of a legend.

I didn't have a problem with Bucky writing about the teammate's remarks. Bottom line IMHO is that one of Miller's teammates saying stuff like that to a reporter is newsworthy. I didn't really like the "lip was quivering" statement. I thought it was a cheap shot, pretty subjective and basically neither here nor there.

 

I did have a problem with the teammate saying what he said, and I agree 100% with the bolded part.

I thought Jim Kelley was well overrated and quite a blowhard.
