LabattBlue Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Game thoughts... - Another home game, another LOSS! - Roy with two SUCKtacular plays on the first two NJ goals. - Enroth looked very average tonight. - The 2+ mil faceoff specialist with a clean loss leading to the 3rd NJ goal - Boyes playing center. Another outstanding move by Lindy. Has he already forgotten how bad Boyes was at center last year? Ooops I forgot, Leino doesn't want to play center anymore. - Anybody still believe the Sabres have one of the best group of blueliners in the NHL? - The Sabres got schooled by a team that played last night in Boston.
SarasotaSabre Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 It's been the same story for going on 5 seasons now, including this one. Teams around the league know and are well aware that if you pressure the Sabres they panic. It's been the same over and over again. That and the inability to finish on a consistent basis when they do get chances. They don't need to sit more players, they need to make some trades to stop this madness from happening. We are approaching the quarter mark of the season. Changes need to be made, and quickly if they plan to get into the playoffs or even past the first round. Don't even think about giving the Devils credit for playing an opportunistic road game, and that Brodeur stole at least 2-3 goals...nahhh, let's just jump on the Sabres suck bandwagon and call for a wholesale roster overhaul..... :wallbash:

kishoph Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 It's good to see LINDY has LIENO out there in the clutch and VANEK on the bench for the last 2:25 and also MYERS who happened to score 2 tonight. Numbers 10, 21, 22, 23 were out there for the last 2 minutes of the game, POMMERS came on in the last 1:35. LINDY should of called a time out and had his top scorers out there for the last 2 minutes, not 3 guys that are scoring on a monthly basis. http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20112012/TH020257.HTM
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 well let the raping and pillaging and baby eating begin.

While everyone is excited for Roy's productivity as of the last few games, he is too much of a liability, especially on the PP! If Lindy keeps insisting on him being on the PP, then put him down low or on the dot. Enroth did look average tonight, although I do not place some of the goals entirely on his shoulders. I was feeling an iffy game by him this game simply on the probability factor. He was 13-0-2 coming into the game. Let's hope this was the proverbial lackluster game, he resets, and comes back guns-a-blazing.
SarasotaSabre Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Yep. It's never the Sabres' fault. not saying they weren't at fault in a few areas - it's the extremist "blow up the team, we suck" rants that I don't get. Did we just lose one game ?
darksabre Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Listened to the game so I don't have much to comment on. It sounds like they played well but blew it big enough times to screw the pooch. Tough November for this team. Ugggglllyyyy.
LGR4GM Posted November 17, 2011 Author Report Posted November 17, 2011 This game shows why MAG is up and Weber sits. Does he think he is the goalie? Get out of the way and let your goalie see. :wallbash: lol because MAG was never responsible for a goal or two. I think Ehrhoff or Leo need to sit next, it worked for Myers. Weber needs to continue to get into to the shooting lanes but bee aware of where the goalie is, he did not play bad but his play was far from good. Enroth faced high quality chances tonight and he did not fair to well, he has some work to do. This game I am going to take in stride as I think there were some good things that this team got out of this (Myers) and its a step in the right direction even though they lost.

I second your Mag thought. I would go with Ehrhoff. Not that Leo has been stellar, but at least he has produced minimal offense. And, watching him last year be a steady player for the most part, he has an upside. Ehrhoff has proven nothing to me aside from the fact he is good at: shooting wide, shooting into a player, and going too far out on D to prevent a scoring opportunity. I also agree with was a technically better game for us. Still need to learn how to beat Brodeur, as well as consistently put the biscuit in the basket.
rickshaw Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Wow, some of the comments on here tonight are awfully childish. Last I looked we were in first place and 2nd in the Conf going into tonight's game. And they aren't playing close to their potential. But pushing the panic button isn't necessary. Obviously it sucks to lose. I didn't see the game but it's nice that Myers responded. We were a broken stick away from making it 4-3 and I believe we win if that doesn't happen. Things happen in hockey, in all sports. They lost but they're sitting in a pretty good spot despite a poor home record. Good to give Enroth some rest. No need to keep him in the game down by 3. Better to give him some rest.

What are you talking about? The fans are stupid. Fans simply can't expect this team to actually WIN a Stanley Cup. We should be happy we have a home team. Sheesh. Between the fans at the game causing the loss, and all of the complaints from people watching on TV, it's a wonder Pegula doesn't pick up this team and move it south.

How stupid of the fans to expect the Sabres to get their act together, let alone win. - Roy with two SUCKtacular plays on the first two NJ goals. How dare you criticize Derek Roy. He scores goals! He has assists! He has upside! Boo on you for being a bad fan.

For Lindy to say that Enroth had a tough one is insulting. can you explain this? Are you talking offensive upside? Defensive upside? +/- upside? What kind of upside? edit: this thread is turning into a disaster... and it has nothing to do with the weber/mag discussion.
