biodork Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I didn't see this posted yet, but for any students out there hoping for cheap tix, Ted Black is listening once again: Student Surge Promotion: 300 Level II Tickets for $20 with Student ID Not directly related to the Bruins, but the promo will apply to that game (starts tomorrow) for those hoping to see fireworks. Edit: I stand corrected; the promo doesn't apply to all home games and the one on 11/23 is not included.
X. Benedict Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 Remember. this is the Sabres you're talking about. I doubt they even look cross-eyed at the Bruins. That funny coming from a Marty Feldman avatar. :D
mphs mike Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 This is what we need - a very fond memory of the team of my youth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ofev3nwJjFs
NowDoYouBelieve Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 When the 23rd rolls around, I'll be rooting for the Sabres to play their ###### off and pick up 2 points. When was the last time one of these highly touted retribution games actually paid dividends in that regard? Not just for the Sabres, but for any team? It seems like there are a nice-sized handful of blatant cheap shots in the NHL each year but only a couple of brawl scenarios.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 If Lindy had a sack, he'd start Vanek-Gaustad-Pominville-Sekera-Myers. If they are too stupid to figure it out, then God Bless them.

R_Dudley Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I'd expect the Sabres to show up physically and for there to be a fight or 2, but no bloodbath and no major retribution to Lucic. The guy is built like a refrigerator and frankly there isn't much that can be done to him short of hockey-stick dentistry, which I doubt will occur. QFT although the bolded made me daydream just a little................................ Paging Dr Tooth, paging Dr. Tooth, we have an FNC emergency root canal to perform. Excuse me Mr. Lucic but you do know you do not floss with carbon fiber correct ?
deluca67 Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 Let's hope whatever is ailing Cody right now has him back by next Wednesday. So he can get his head bashed in as usual? It is no surprise that a team that continually allows their goalies to be run is also a team continually at the bottom of the league in hitting and blocked shots. This is not a team willing to give up the body or do the dirty things that win Championships.
Guest Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 So he can get his head bashed in as usual? It is no surprise that a team that continually allows their goalies to be run is also a team continually at the bottom of the league in hitting and blocked shots. This is not a team willing to give up the body or do the dirty things that win Championships. This is the truth. Look at the teams that go far in the playoffs each year.....physical, non finesse teams willing to take a penalty or retaliate at any cost. Boston played the dirtiest hockey the second half of the season last year over any other team in the league and look where it got them. In fact, when they were down to the Canucks 3-2 they got more physical and nastier than they had been and voila....they win the Cup. They just plain gave the Canucks a back alley beat down in those last two games and the Canucks turtled like a bunch of pansies. But I'm sure having Colon Campbell's fruity son on the Bruins had nothing to do with the outcome of that series.....cough cough.
LastPommerFan Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 The barn will be loud but the room will probably be as quite as a rat pi$$ing on cotton. Who'll rally the boys? When not working on his faceoffs with Goose, Pommer has been taking motivational speech lessons with Dr. Lou Holtz. If Lindy had a sack, he'd start Vanek-Gaustad-Pominville-Sekera-Myers. If they are too stupid to figure it out, then God Bless them. see...sometimes..I Just love the way you think.

You might be insane, but it's like a Dr. House kind of insane. Sometimes maniacal, but always highly intellectual. Basically you're this board's token serial killer. And I mean that in a nice way. :D
LGR4GM Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 What's the over/under on how many times Enroth gets run??? The Bruins know nothing will happen either by the Sabres OR that DB Shanahan. I would expect someone like Thornton or that little turd Marchand to take a run at the goalie in this game though. Lucic will just focus on scaring the bajesus out of the other ballerinas out there. As long as Weber is on the ice and in the game (Which i doubt... he doesn't "pass" well enough for our amazing defense) Marchand or Thornton will get a swift and continual cross check from the only defensemen we have that is totally ok with breaking some guys face in. As for lucic, he might get jabbed or challenged a bit but nothing will happen. The key to this game is not coming out and matching the Bruins physicality because the sabres can't. The key is coming out and having enough energy to get up and down the ice quickly, pass accurately, and play smart. You have to play your game and your style and the Sabres style is skill/finesse (sometimes to much) so they will have to start with that and drive to the net and do the dirty work in the corners. If they try to match bostons physical play they will be worn down and become afraid of them just like last game. As for this game being an amazing spectacle of epic proportions... I bet its a slightly above average game for November because everyone will know that if they do something dumb shanny will suspend them... of course this only applies to the sabres, the bruins can break their sticks over Enroth's head as long as they did not "intend" to.
bunomatic Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 That funny coming from a Marty Feldman avatar. :D You're one to talk. :clapping:
bunomatic Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 We all know what the league and the media think of the sabres as a team since the debacle in beantown and on the next game there'll be many more interested in seeing how the sabres fare. If the sabres wilt again their newfound reputation will be further cemented in the collective consciousness of the hockey world. This team has to man up and beat down the bruins on the scoresheet otherwise it'll be them getting a beatdown in the media once again. I should amend the phrase newfound as I'm sure most will agree this team has been considered soft for some time.

The guy is built like a refrigerator and frankly there isn't much that can be done to him short of hockey-stick dentistry, which I doubt will occur. Which is exactly why going after Lucic is a bad idea. You want to send a message to the league that your goaltender is off-limits, you quite simply put Thomas in the stands. Do I agree it's the right thing to do at this point? No. They had their chance to send a message, they didn't, and now they have to live with the fact that the entire league believes they can get away with pretty much anything against them. Again.
RazielSabre Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 I'd prefer to blow them out 6-1 or 7-0 or whatever than hit them. Humiliate the SC champions.
