RazielSabre Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 This all star thing is ###### ridiculous. Should be picked by the NHLPA or someone, genuinely who has been the best this season, not whoever fan boys love.
dEnnis the Menace Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 All-Star Fan Balloting is a friggen joke. This all star thing is ###### ridiculous. Should be picked by the NHLPA or someone, genuinely who has been the best this season, not whoever fan boys love. The fact that the starting lineup (top vote getters) are from an all of 3 teams, it's kind of ridiculous. My guess is it's because of where the game is going to be played... <_<
Gramps Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Agreed 100% If you look at the numbers, Regehr doesn't get in with a plus/minus of -11 and 2 assists in 38 games. Ehrhoff is also -11, but at least has some offense to him and the All Star Game is all about offense.
LabattBlue Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Four Senators lead on final ballot: http://www.nhl.com/i...vid=DL|NHL|home Four Sabres on the list of vote-getters, Van and Pom (30th and 46th for forwards), Myers (26th d-man), and Miller (14th goalie): www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=610008  I'd argue about how ridiculous this all is, but I don't really care, and I'm not sure anyone else does either. At least Vanek and Pominville.get some deserved love. The NHL should know by now that fan balloting cannot be a part of the all-star game. The Ottawa fans just made a bigger mockery of the game which was already a joke.

The Ottawa fans just made a bigger mockery of the game which was already a joke. The fact that injured players, or players that are just down right not that good this year (yes Crosby and Miller, I'm looking respectively at the two of you) are on the ballot and ahead of other deserving players is a joke. No different than the NFL all-star joke. I only watch the skills competition, as that at least is a little fun.
shrader Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 The NHL should know by now that fan balloting cannot be a part of the all-star game. The Ottawa fans just made a bigger mockery of the game which was already a joke. They fixed the vote to keep Rory Fitzpatrick out. This time around though, they get exactly what they want. No one watches the all star game on tv, so they might as well please the ticket buyers.
RazielSabre Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Every year I hear how crap the fan balloting is, yet every year we keep it. Who changes this stuff and what would it take to actually make something happen so we don't get control of who goes in?

shrader Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Name me a sport that doesn't have some form of fan balloting for their all star event. I'm not completely sure if football has it in place at all, but the point is, this is a way of life. It's not going away.

shrader Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 We don't have an all star event in football, does that count? :P It's an american board, so we go by our sport names, not your crazy european speak. :P

Sabres Fan in NS Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 It's an american board, so we go by our sport names, not your crazy european speak. :P That language is spoken all over the world, except in North America.
shrader Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 That language is spoken all over the world, except in North America. Do you sap the fun out of everything? At least Limey knew I was joking.
Cereal Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 (EDIT: Oops.. as d4rk corrects me below, the rosters will be announced Thursday. This is just something put together by media.) Complete rosters: http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=611147 Vanek the only Sabre. Among the surprises who received zero votes included Alex Ovechkin, Chicago's Patrick Kane and 2010-11 MVP Corey Perry. and The final spot came down to Carl Hagelin or Buffalo's Luke Adam. Hagelin hasn't been in the League for the full season, but his strong play trumped Adam's recent slump.
darksabre Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Complete rosters: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=611147 Vanek the only Sabre. and That's a projected roster put together by some media guys, Dave Lozo of the Rangers beat the most notable.
MattPie Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Lol, I haven't even started with Cockney Rhyming Slang yet... You'll have us septics all confused when you start.
Andrew Amerk Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 (EDIT: Oops.. as d4rk corrects me below, the rosters will be announced Thursday. This is just something put together by media.) Complete rosters: http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=611147 Vanek the only Sabre. and Adam only started slumping after he was removed from the top line. He is better than Hagelin.
Andrew Amerk Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Ovi and Kane are both in the commercial for the all star game.
spndnchz Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 Adam only started slumping after he was removed from the top line. He is better than Hagelin. Incorrect see here http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/20771-what-would-you-do-if-you-were-in-charge/page__view__findpost__p__348651
SwampD Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Incorrect see here http://forums.sabres...post__p__348651 Again, in that 7 game "slump", we went 5 - 2. It's a team game and he must have been doing something right.
Realist Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Pominville made the roster, along with Adam as a rookie.
spndnchz Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 Surprised Crsoby is not on the list.
