jabtot Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 This was from the Saturday edition of The Calgary Sun.... Buffalo fans may be some of the most dedicated, mischievous and/or misguided in the league. Although there’s no way to confirm it, when the fire alarm went off at the Flames hotel room right around nap time Friday afternoon, first thought was a fan is looking to give the home team the edge. Same thing happened a few years back at a different hotel the Flames were staying at in Buffalo. Not sure that’s a coincidence ... Maybe we should cut the Buffalo fans a break, though. Many of them sang along with O Canada before puck drop. Must be a border town ...
nfreeman Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Interesting, but this should've gone in the GDT. Not remotely new-thread-worthy.

They should have to arrive in the cover of night and take multiple cabs to the hotel to avoid detection.
bunomatic Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Oh the poor babies. did somebody disturb their nappy nap. Of all the low down nasty things those heathens in Buffalo would do to get an edge.
darksabre Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Awesome. Now if only we could get these kind of shenanigans against Division opponents....
Meathead Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 guess ill be the only one to say it: i want bflo teams to win as much as anybody but this is an uncool way to support that somebody elses house could burn down or any of a number of other tragedies could happen while fire fighters and cops are paying attention to this kind of crap find another way to help your team

Andrew Amerk Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 The writer wasn't previously aware of Buffalo's proximity to Canada? A lot of those fans were Canadian. Yup. The Town of Buffalo.
spndnchz Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Since we're on fire alarms. The fire alarm went off between periods at the Center last night. Blinky lights everywhere, even in the 300 section. Stay on well into the 2nd period.

Corp000085 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 I can confirm that the alarm went off in the Avant building at 2:30pm on Friday. Better 2:30pm than 2:30am though!

Putting people's lives at risk like that is assassin and criminal.

darksabre Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Ok copper!! ???????????????? Nothing of value in this post. How surprising.

5th line wingnutt Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Oh the poor babies. did somebody disturb their nappy nap. Of all the low down nasty things those heathens in Buffalo would do to get an edge. Hey, I can get pretty cranky if someone disturbs my nap!

That's why they should serve salmonella tainted chicken for the team meal. No collateral damage.
Eleven Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 I can confirm that the alarm went off in the Avant building at 2:30pm on Friday. Better 2:30pm than 2:30am though! That happens from time to time in that building. It's not necessarily a fan; there is internal construction in that building that could have tripped the alarm, or something could have happened in the kitchen, etc.
spndnchz Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 If a fan did pull the fire alarm I hope they have it on video and the scumbag is arrested. Putting people's lives at risk like that is assassin and criminal. No one pulled it. You could smell something like burnt popcorn.

It's not necessarily a fan; there is internal construction in that building that could have tripped the alarm, or something could have happened in the kitchen, etc. And it sounds like a daytime alarm. What fan would be dumb enough to prank the opposing team in the middle of the day? If they're looking for trouble, they do it at 3am.
korab rules Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 No one pulled it. You could smell something like burnt popcorn. You make it very difficult not to post lewd comments when you say suggestive things like this.
PromoTheRobot Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 Didn't a fire alarm go off at FNC in the 2nd period of the CGY game? I saw the flashing strobe alarms and a Buffalo fireman walking around the lower bowl. PTR
