... Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Don't bother -- he's just being an ass and trying to use the loss to prove his point from another thread. I'm sorry, but I rightly blamed the fans for this loss earlier in the thread.
Eleven Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Lindy is clearly pissed. Sad thing is that we have the talent. I don't think that can be disputed. We just aren't playing the way we should be playing. Ellis clearly deserved to win the Play of the Game. Is the board ready for this? It's on Lindy. Play Weber. Put the lines back the way they were at the start and stop effing with them. Yeah, I actually said it.
Warriorspikes51 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Good: Roy's skating and shooting. Sekera's skating. Ehrhoff's skating (half the game). Van, Poms, Boyes, Ellis. Bad: Toronto "war room", unlucky tips ending up in our net. Florida having a team. They should be in Quebec. Ugly: Officiating.

Yeah, I actually said it. I'm ready. I said it earlier. No one jumped on me; I think the board is ready. Nearly. Except the pro anti-fan contingent, who think the fans should be helping the Sabres win these games by pretending to enjoy these losses.
Marvelo Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 two words about what's wrong with this team: Ruff and Miller.
darksabre Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I know the Sabres lost, but what you just described was not the game I just watched. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm saying what I saw. And I clearly wasn't the only one. A number of fans in my section were vocally displeased with the effort. Matt Ellis stood out like a sore thumb.

LGR4GM Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 these defensive lines would be helpful... Weber-Leo Myers-Regehr Sekera-Ehrhoff
Eleven Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I just choked up a little beer on that one... what? Yep. You read it correctly. Eleven is not happy with twenty-two. (The former twenty-two, that is.)

Yeah, I actually said it. Oh snap son!!! hahaha but I think coaching plays a huge role in their recent performance.
... Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Not at all what I meant. Yes it is. I was saying coaching is the issue for the team right now. You apparently didn't go back far enough in the thread to verify it.
Andrew Amerk Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 A giant lack of effort by most of the Sabres. PP was lousy. Very little hitting or finishing checks. Miller let in a softy. The above, combined with numerous poor calls by the refs, equals a game lost.
LGR4GM Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I keep repeating myself and it is getting annoying, this team is not tough enough! Its to much finesse and not enough grit! ###### idc ###### it all
87168 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 A giant lack of effort by most of the Sabres. PP was lousy. Very little hitting or finishing checks. Miller let in a softy. The above, combined with numerous poor calls by the refs, equals a game lost. Miller let in a softy and let in another goal as he just laid there. When I say laid there, I literally mean laid there and watched the puck come from behind the net and go across the line. He made some key saves but also let in some goals that SHOULD and WOULD have been saved by 99% of the netminders in the NHL. Miller's biggest hurdle is staying consistent.
LabattBlue Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Game thoughts... - My 2nd home game of the season. 2nd home game where I should have went in the concourse and just stared at the wall for the entire 2nd period. Another AWFUL home performance. - 1st goal by Florida, bad goal by Miller. 2nd goal, what was we doing after he went down? Very slow reaction. - After Florida's 3rd goal, I notice Matt Ellis on the ice. Classic Lindy. - At the risk of repeating myslef, Myers is completely screwed up right now. Not a factor at all offensively, not physical & just not noticeable in a good way at all. - I don't know what is going on with Leino, but here's hoping it is just a very bad slump right now. - I watched Gragnani a lot tonight. Not only did he have the horrible giveaway, but his tape to tape passing isn't that impressive when the passes are going 10-15 feet. Come talk to me when the passes he is making are having a big impact on the game. Until then, I am not going to praise him for having a basic hockey skill. - If it wasn't for Pominville & Vanek, this team would be sub .500. - Terrible call on Gerbe(it was clearly a dive by Florida), but shut your yap and get to the penalty box. - Getting beat by Garon & Theodore at home SUCKS!
TheMatrix31 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I agree that we're tinkering too much. Lines won't gel if they keep getting messed with. Just can't switch things every game or two. Inconsistency will breed inconsistency.
... Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Game thoughts... YOU! You were in the audience. You brought us this loss. How dare you. You apparently weren't into the game enough to motivate the team. You should be ashamed of yourself.

LastPommerFan Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Everyone stays in a hotel before the next home game. Treat it like the road.

Why? Fock these refs. Why do accept whatever the refs give us? Why? In ten years I will remember who Gerbe is, I don't even know who the ref was tonight. We deserve better.

LGR4GM Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I am just going to come out and lay it out there: Miller may be able to turn this around... or he may have hit his prime when he won the vezina and this is the downward spiral... IDK, he could be awesome again, I just dont know. I am starting to see what others have been saying. IDK why but continually this team seems to underachieve and suck. Our offensive guys are all finesse with no decipherable amount of testosterone outside of regehr, gerbe, and ellis... I'll say this too, the system they are playing within either isnt being executed or it isnt good enough to work. Finally are defense is so freaking dysfunctional its shocking... i dont even know what to say about it...
SabresFan526 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 The first goal Miller gave up was horrible and no way he should let that in. The third goal he just flopped and overcommitted and did not get back up to give the open net. Also a very bad goal that Miller should not be giving up. It appears that the effort was really not there and it is quite obvious that Leino just isn't right at all right now. He was benched for the entire second and third period as I did not see the first. I don't know what's wrong with him, but he's making the players around him worse. Boyes on the other hand is thriving in his PP role with Vanek and Pominville. This team is clearly a one line team, and frankly even that's a bit generous. This is basically two guys right now Vanek and Pominville with absolutely no support from anyone else. That needs to change and the offense needs to come from more places than just Vanek and Pominville. All that aside, absolutely horrendous officiating. Giving Sturm a 5 minute major and game misconduct is fine for his board on Leopold. But, I'm not sure Stafford did enough to warrant a penalty, but let's excuse that for the time being. Gerbe absolutely did not trip anyone, and even if he did, it was much less worse than one of the Florida players getting his stick stuck in Ehrhoff's skate which is the most obvious tripping penalty you could call, but wasn't called. Then the extra 2 minutes on Gerbe lost the game for Buffalo. So, what should have been a 5 minute Power Play turned into even strength hockey to end the game with a PP at the end for Florida. That is atrocious officiating when Sturm nearly injures Leopold and is looking to get suspended by Shanahan. Paul Devorski called another gem of a game as he has in the past.
