waldo Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 It's a tossup; what's going to annoy me more tomorrow: 1) Posts about how Miller sucks and Enroth would have made the difference tonight. 2) Annoying photos of grownups' Halloween costumes on facebook. It is not an easy call. I'll see how I feel on Monday. Looks like nobody noticed Roy deflect the puck that won the game for Tampa, a shot he should have been no where near, and hoff miss his man on the wrap around goal that tied the game.
... Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 It is not an easy call. I'll see how I feel on Monday. It'll get worse on Monday, even before factoring in what the Bills do.
rickshaw Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Didn't see the game but saw the hilites. How can Ellis' goal not count? Why oh why was Miller down a good 2 seconds after making the save prior to the tying goal????? That was troublesome for me him just lying there. Not impressed with another late loss at home. Piss poor.

Andrew Amerk Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Miller let in a softy and let in another goal as he just laid there. When I say laid there, I literally mean laid there and watched the puck come from behind the net and go across the line. He made some key saves but also let in some goals that SHOULD and WOULD have been saved by 99% of the netminders in the NHL. Miller's biggest hurdle is staying consistent. You would think with how well Enroth has played, Miller wouldn't have had those lapses tonight. I think it's finally time to unleash Weber against Philly. Grags hasn't done enough to warrant the amount of playing time he has gotten. I'm sick of watching him field passes with his skates, and using his skates to kick the puck to his stick. His rookie turnovers are too frequent.
inkman Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I don't care. I've just always thought better of you. What about the 500 other plays during a game that the official interprets correctly in your mind? It just seems petty and arbitrary to single out a couple of plays you didn't feel went your way.
Marvelo Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Why oh why was Miller down a good 2 seconds after making the save prior to the tying goal????? That was troublesome for me him just lying there. r. maybe he thought he had the puck frozen under his pads.
inkman Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Again... Ehrhoff and Leino (who I literally never saw tonight) can just go away. Enough with Gragnani as well.
Andrew Amerk Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 The never ending blaming of the officials is getting tired. Not at all. If they make the right calls, it's not even a discussion. They helped control the outcome tonight, which is unfortunate. Missing a call or making the wrong call here or there is understandable, but the amount of BS tonight was obvious.
DumbPuck Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 maybe he thought he had the puck frozen under his pads. From my viewpoint at center ice 100 level ... this is what I saw. I was actually yelling "YOU DONT HAVE IT ... GET UP". It definitely looked to me like Miller thought he had the puck trapped under a pad.
DumbPuck Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Again... Ehrhoff and Leino (who I literally never saw tonight) can just go away. Enough with Gragnani as well. Ehrhoff nearly scored on Miller in the final seconds of the second period.

It just seems petty and arbitrary to single out a couple of plays you didn't feel went your way. Why would I complain about 500 plays called correctly? I personally don't think Stafford should have been called for a rough but I didn't complain about that. I get it. Not only did Gerbe not trip the guy, but to add 2 because a ref's ego got hurt? Really? Gerbe was Smiling? Why are we even talking about a refs ego? A refs personal feelings should never enter into the conversation. This ref injected himself into the game and that is why I am angry. Had Gerbe actually tripped the guy, this would be a different argument.

87168 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Ehrhoff nearly scored on Miller in the final seconds of the second period. I thought that was MAG. I could be wrong.
Andrew Amerk Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I thought that was MAG. I could be wrong. It was the Hoff.
qwksndmonster Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Aww? Are u mad? Dude take ur anger out on somebody else. Not me, get a life. We use full words here, and personal attacks are unneeded and disrespectful. I also personally urge you to learn how to properly piece together words to make full sentences with proper grammar. Please try to give the board some constructive input instead of horribly thought out complaints (and whining). This team is very indisciplined. Stafford had to retaliate, and gerbe had to complain. They cost us the game. Undisciplined. To blame the game on these two calls is absurd.
neverenough Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Is the board ready for this? It's on Lindy. Play Weber. Put the lines back the way they were at the start and stop effing with them. Yeah, I actually said it. This is so damn true! Get it together Lindy!
LaLaLaFontaine Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Oh man, i am just endless disappointent about this loss. Again a stupid and unnecessary loss. First goal from Florida: This must not go in. This is a no go. Yeah two saves gainst one man rushes but such a huge mistake. Ellis made a huge save for Miller on one rebound. This was great. The 2:2 felt also like a joke for me. 4 Sabres staying around, Miller just lieing around like a dead fish, and two Panthers got the goal. Frustrating! Yeah they won two games when the other teams were better, but they lost this one being better with weak goals against.
kishoph Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 I really shocked at how awful and soft Leino has been. It's unbelievable how bad he has been. There has to be something terribly wrong going on in his head, this is a player that 1/3 of the league was trying to acquire during free agency, he's very capable of putting together a good game. He has a total of 5 shots on goal in 10 games 0 in the last 4. I think it's LINDY's job to help find a way to get him off this snide. Hopefully it will turn around for him soon, because he's too good of a talent to just toss to the side, along with his enormous contract.

Don't put him in the game and give him five minutes over two periods and re-shuffling the deck on the fly. Who is this helping? He's sitting Weber...still. If you want him to succeed at center, put him between Vanek and Pommer and see what happens. I'd argue that Adam is not bringing a lot to that line but is succeeding simply because of the wingers he's got. I like Ruff a lot but I've seen little evidence of good coaching so far.

LastPommerFan Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 maybe he thought he had the puck frozen under his pads. This is what I saw. Still, Ehrhoff needs to close off his man. 4 guys got caught watching the puck go around the net.
deluca67 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Ok .. so it's not tripping ... but why is it ok to keep your stick in an opponents skate while he is on the ground. Effectively taking him out of the play? I was at the game by the way and this fiasco with Ehrhoff's skate seemed to last an eternity. Everyone there was boggled ... except the refs i suppose. Why is it not delay of game when a puck gets lost in a players equipment? Two player simply got tangled up. I'm not saying the officiating was great. NHL officiating as a whole is pretty weak. I can honestly saying I didn't even think about the officials costing the Sabres the game until I started reading some of the posts tonight. It is a red herring thrown out there to distract from the real issues that cost the Sabres the game. It was a lack luster performance all around by the Sabres. A type of performance that can cost the team a playoff spot in a tough Eastern Conference if it happens again with any frequency.

Miller put himself out of the play, he looked ridiculous on the play. The second goal was worse than the first goal and I can only guess the first goal had the Mr. Softy song ringing through fan's ears.

Agreed, The calls certainly were not up to snuff, I think there are a fair amount of rookie refs this year, but in no way can they even be brought into an analysis of why this game was lost. Miller not getting the paddle down on the first goal was just lazy. On the second goal, the 4 guys watching while miller thought the puck was under him was atrocious. And the thought that this team can't play 4-4 on the other end of the ice is absurd. with our skating 4-4 should be like a power play for us. No effort.
