Why? Fock these refs. Why do accept whatever the refs give us? Why? In ten years I will remember who Gerbe is, I don't even know who the ref was tonight. We deserve better.

Thats the reason the league has removed the officials names off of their uniforms. But I know what you mean Swamp, the refs shouldn't be who the fans are talking about after the game has ended. If they did their jobs properly they wouldn't be noticed.

Because you cant do anything about the call that's made. Just move on and show the refs and opposing team that even though you're trying to give us the shaft, we will still pull a W. That's what a GOOD hockey club does and although it may not seem like it now...we do have a good hockey club....

on the road that it hahahahaha kidding!

IDK why but continually this team seems to underachieve and suck.

Because they have Derek Roy in the dressing room. Just saying... :o

The first goal Miller gave up was horrible and no way he should let that in. The third goal he just flopped and overcommitted and did not get back up to give the open net. Also a very bad goal that Miller should not be giving up.

It appears that the effort was really not there and it is quite obvious that Leino just isn't right at all right now. He was benched for the entire second and third period as I did not see the first. I don't know what's wrong with him, but he's making the players around him worse. Boyes on the other hand is thriving in his PP role with Vanek and Pominville. This team is clearly a one line team, and frankly even that's a bit generous. This is basically two guys right now Vanek and Pominville with absolutely no support from anyone else. That needs to change and the offense needs to come from more places than just Vanek and Pominville.

All that aside, absolutely horrendous officiating. Giving Sturm a 5 minute major and game misconduct is fine for his board on Leopold. But, I'm not sure Stafford did enough to warrant a penalty, but let's excuse that for the time being. Gerbe absolutely did not trip anyone, and even if he did, it was much less worse than one of the Florida players getting his stick stuck in Ehrhoff's skate which is the most obvious tripping penalty you could call, but wasn't called. Then the extra 2 minutes on Gerbe lost the game for Buffalo. So, what should have been a 5 minute Power Play turned into even strength hockey to end the game with a PP at the end for Florida. That is atrocious officiating when Sturm nearly injures Leopold and is looking to get suspended by Shanahan. Paul Devorski called another gem of a game as he has in the past.

The ehrhoff non-call was just pathetic. The smoking gun was right there before the officials eyes and he chose to ignore it. I suppose he thought Ehrhoff put the stick in his skate blade?

I have to disagree, but, mind you, I haven't had a chance to see a replay since. But it looked clearly to me that the stick went into the skates AFTER Earaughf was down. I think he simply lost an edge.

Trust me, if I could see my way to blame that on the refs, I would.

This is a big win for a team like Florida. They carried most of the play and took advantage of some Sabres soft play by the defense and the goaltender.

As said earlier, if not for Vanek and Pominville this team is hanging out with Boston and Winnipeg.

The Stafford penalty ended up hurting the Sabres, I will live with that penalty every time.

When Hecht is healthy enough he is in. Leino needs to spend time in the press box. He has performed well under my expectations which were not very high to begin with.

Yeah I haven't seen the replay either but I thought I saw it the other way. I could be wrong.

That is 100% correct.

I realize its early but I did have big expectations for Leino and I have to admit I'm disappointed in how things have gone. I'm hoping Darcys working on a move, even a minor tweek to get these guys rolling. The habs fire an assistant coach and they are on fire. I'm not advocating firing anyone yet but sometimes a small trade will do wonders.

Ok .. so it's not tripping ... but why is it ok to keep your stick in an opponents skate while he is on the ground. Effectively taking him out of the play?

I was at the game by the way and this fiasco with Ehrhoff's skate seemed to last an eternity. Everyone there was boggled ... except the refs i suppose.

I keep repeating myself and it is getting annoying, this team is not tough enough! Its to much finesse and not enough grit! ###### idc ###### it all

Almost half of the top twelve forwards are gnats? (small, non physical, finesse players) How many defenders are out there who can play a physical game.

Miller has an off game, it happens with goalies, and Roy gets the game winning deflection...where was his head on that shot.

They don't even have to make a trade. Play Ethron more, put Weber in. There is your spark.

Oh, and give them a temporary locker room somewhere near the garbage compactor in a crappy part of the basement, the spoiled brats...clearly Uncle Terry's generosity is being taken for granted.

That is never a penalty.

I really shocked at how awful and soft Leino has been. It's unbelievable how bad he has been.

YOU! You caused this loss, too. If you were just MORE of a fan during the game, the Sabres would have fed off of your energy and would have gone on to defeat the lowly Panthers. But, noooooo, you had to be LESS of a fan. Thanks, buddy. You share the blame for this game with Labatt.

$ I just remembered Slava Kozlov for some reason... I know that he didn't want to come to the Sabs in the first place but what clinched it for him was that he couldn't stand Ruff. I wonder if that's what's happening to some of our Euro newcomers (Leino, Erhoff)...

$$ On the postgame show, the guys I saw -- Boyes, Pominville looked emotionless. Besides Pomer's goals, maybe he doesn't have the backbone that a guy like Regher has?

$$$ I sense the team has mixed up chemistry. they don't seem to be meshing. maybe they are tuning or have tuned out the lindy channel.

$$$$ When these "fluke" goals on Miller start adding up, maybe they're not flukes anymore.

$$$$$ Time to start the goalie who deserves it -- and keep him in if he wins.

I actually was taking mental notes on the crowd tonight. It's interesting, the first and second periods the arena was pretty dead. Leading into the second period we actually started doing pretty well though to be honest I was pretty proud. The 300 level at one point started things up and it went all the way down to the 100 level. We did a wave that went around like 15 times. Was awesome ... loud ... everything. The Panther's second goal deflated the building tbh.

That's what you get. Let that be a lesson to you.

And your thoughts on Roy, Stafford, Erhoff. Mags, Sekerrrrrra, Ennis? Leino is not playing well ten + games into the season. Right now he is playing on a team with one line, no pp ,four offensive defensemen who do not score or join the rush, one top twenty defender and several other forwards who are not playing well ? It will get better. If it doesn't Lindy's head will explode in one of these post game press conferences and that will be fun to watch.

And everybody gave me a hard time about me saying leino sucks. I guess I was right!

I think everyone agrees he sucks, you're the only one asking to get him cut or waived or whatever you thiink is possible at this point.

The never ending blaming of the officials is getting tired.

It's a tossup; what's going to annoy me more tomorrow:

1) Posts about how Miller sucks and Enroth would have made the difference tonight.

2) Annoying photos of grownups' Halloween costumes on facebook.

It is not an easy call. I'll see how I feel on Monday.
