TheMadCap Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I think you just described every building in the league. They all get louder come playoff time. Indeed. Which is why it is ridiculous to suggest that a building is loud during playoff games because of manufactured noise...
FogBat Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Come on, in 1987 that place was pretty loud. Yeah, but that was a whole different barn (Maple Leaf Gardens). Now they have the ACC. Speaking of which, does anyone remember how loud that place was in 1999 when they were in the Conference Finals against us? (I wasn't there, but I was wondering if someone could fill the rest of us in.)
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Indeed. Which is why it is ridiculous to suggest that a building is loud during playoff games because of manufactured noise... its not manufactured they just utilize microphones in fan areas to put the sound of crowd thru the audio system. Independent of all of this I did mention that last year when i attended a Tampa game in Mid Nov last year in Buffalo it was a quieter crowd and environment than I have seen here at RBC. I have been to many RBC games( not just sabres games ) over the years and had only been to First Niagara once.
nostyle126 Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 RBC was loud in the '06 playoffs the same way you'd expect FNC to be loud if we played the Leafs in the playoffs. You have a TON of fans for the opposition being as loud as they can possibly be, so the home fans take that as a challenge. Both fanbases keep the Loud-O-Meter spiking through the whole game. It's like a challenge to see who can be louder. Ever been to a Canes game when the Thrashers are in town and only 12k people show up? Not so loud.
